Manny Biggz Feb 16, 2007 06:05 AM

Leo might be that new Mishima character rumors were talkin about. Quite the Rock Howard impersination he has going there though...

Inhert Feb 16, 2007 07:40 AM

lol Zafima made me think like the ritualist class in guild wars from the way she move XD

still look great! can't wait just for tekken DR on the ps3 next week ^^

chato Feb 16, 2007 07:44 AM

Damn that dude looks like Rock Howard and Yuki with that scarf. So we basically get 2 new people and a kickass storyline perhaps?

Like Dragonov and Lily, I'll master them as well. And probably tone down Dragonov a bit since you basically win a round in less than 10 seconds with a 10 hit combo+knee to the stomach-roll over attack.

Edit : checked out the trailer. Definately badass but does Jak-10 or whatever his name is have to be in it? Maybe he is a favorite after all. That Leo pose makes him look like Rock Howards CvsSnk2 portrait. AND. propz to Bryan Fury for the Shotgun.

BIGWORM Feb 16, 2007 08:30 AM

Yep, everyone internet-wide is pointing out Leo to be a Rock Howard ripoff.

It's probably some kind of inspiration. SNK made Shen Woo but looks alot like Steve. So I won't mind Leo having some interesting moves like Rock or better .

RYU Feb 16, 2007 09:50 AM

is not there different graphics between Tekken 5 DR and Tekken 6

Slayer X Feb 16, 2007 10:02 AM

Ther're totally different engined, however it's hard to see in the small ass trailer, we'll have to wait for the HD trailers which should be coming soon. One thing that I do notice big time is the fluid 60fps and the amazing cloth physics, and so far no clipping (unlike DOA4, clippers heaven).

Man, I've used Bryan ever since his debut in Tekken 3, and I came in 16th place at EVO 2000 with him, so to see that he's being worked on a little harder this time around makes me excited. ^^

BIGWORM Feb 16, 2007 10:32 AM

Oh shit, you went to EVO? Just another event I need to attend. I'm hoping they have DR this year. =/

Slayer X Feb 16, 2007 05:32 PM

Here's all the info you need from games, to dates & locations ^^

BIGWORM Feb 20, 2007 06:46 AM

I'm well aware about that site, my friend.

WELL AWARE!!!

:tpg:

Burp Feb 20, 2007 08:27 AM

By the way, Leo is a girl.

Inhert Feb 20, 2007 01:31 PM

you sure? I don't see any boobs on that artwork...

BIGWORM Feb 20, 2007 02:19 PM

Inhert's probably right. Namdai's more than likely making Leo (if not) more feminine than Lee, which after Tekken 4, I thought wasn't possible.

Additional Spam:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mby6w5qCKVk

Leo is a chick.

Leo is female.
From director talk.
Leo's martial art style is same as akira in VF but with her own
original style added. Leo is made like how paul was made
to attract newbies. (easy moves, juggles?)

There will be more than 2 new characters.

Stages will be very different from previous tekken
and will have lots of strategic usage.

Previous characters will have new moves + renewed motions
to make it feel completely new. (right now the vid seems
to be based on very early build).

Customization will be large and will make character look
completely different from the original looks. Also there
will be different approach to item/ not only the looks
but also something else. (hint: bryan...)

So. VERY small boobies.

Slayer X Feb 20, 2007 05:36 PM

Perhaps that's what all thoes large buckles on the chest are for.

There's going to be MORE new characters and MORE crazy stuff like Bryan's shotty, can't wait!!! ^^

EDIT:
Got this pic from Tekken-Official, with a bit closer look I guess the chest area is a bit raised for a male, I just kind of passed it off as muscle earlier. She definatly ain't no big breasted fan weilding steriotype. (I'm looking at you Mai)

Summonmaster Feb 20, 2007 10:15 PM

I knew Leo's voice was effeminate. I thought I was hearing things, but I agree that she looks like NGBC's Yuki. Way to hide it :o

Zafina's design seems to be terribly plain in comparison to several others, but I really like how she moves. Very snake-like and weird. Hopefully I'll dig her moreso than Asuka and Jun.

The last 12 seconds of the trailer were hilarious, and I'm curious to see all the new costumes. Give me some more Anna. i need wacky options like the accessorizing available in T5. It's always hilarious for a woman fully decked in carnival gear to be able dance around you and beat you skillfully.
Jack has so many layers of armour now =o

Inhert Feb 20, 2007 11:01 PM

yeah after checking the wallpaper closely, I deducted that Leo is a girl just by her face, and her eyes especially. She probably strap hey boobs because she want to look like a boy, I don't know...

Are you kidding? Bryan 5.0 is the scariest character second ONLY to Steve!

- Unblockable launcher after taunt hits. (f, b+2 just frame)
- Can wall carry you from pretty much anywhere.
- Taunt mix up at wall is almost unstoppable.
- All this and EIGHT FREAKIN FRAME JABS!
- b+1 launches without counter hit and gives huge advantage on block.
- u/f + 4 is SAFE SAFE SAFE

Ahh well. I'm waiting on Marduk info. I hope they didn't tone down d/f +3, d+1, tackle and d/b + 1+2. Ever since DR came out, people like to bitch more about those moves.

Slayer X Feb 21, 2007 10:36 AM

Shhh... you're givibg away all the secrets, lol. Steve is my next best character followed by Baek, King & Feng. I like to make myself skilled with a few characters to allow me to exploit weakness in my opponent instead of having to work ewith a character that may be counter opposite to what I need to face my opponent. I just say that I use Bryan the most because I find him to be the Swissarmy-Knife of Tekken.

Yes, another Tekken/Bryan fanatic.

You forgot (w) 1, 2, 1, d/f+3 being GUARANTEED, tech setup or not.

Tech setup = so much more damage (ws+3 ~ taunt goodness)

=D

SunGod Feb 21, 2007 04:44 PM

In T5 Nina is much more broken than Bryan is, but not as much as Steve.

BIGWORM Feb 21, 2007 05:07 PM

u/f+1 and the followups thereafter were the broken moves of choice for Nina in 5.0. Pretty much a 50/50 game after u/f+1

Manny Biggz Feb 21, 2007 05:20 PM

Sorry, but Nina does not compare to Bryan at all. I'm not even a Bryan fanatic. I'm 100% Marduk.

BIGWORM Feb 21, 2007 06:28 PM

Too much VTS is GOOD for your health.

Literally.

Roll away after 2+4 throw? FREE TACKLE!!!

Slayer X Feb 21, 2007 11:02 PM

This is the general tiers however that's based on MAXIMUM potential as tiers always represent.

TOP: Steve, Nina, Bryan, Feng
Mid: Majority of characters all relatively close
Low: Lei, Kuma, Roger

Manny Biggz Feb 21, 2007 11:04 PM

In DR the top tiers look more like this

Devil Jin
Heihachi
Kazuya
Marduk

Slayer X Feb 21, 2007 11:16 PM

WoW, how does it change so drastically with only a small upgrade? I know they changed a lot, but to shift the tiers. This could make for an interesting study for me when it comes out on the PS Network.

BIGWORM Feb 22, 2007 01:15 AM

IMO, I think the tiers will be played out with people actually playing face to face. The main factor that'll throw the tiers off whack if they figured out through online play is latency. Not everyone has the best ping. From my experience on Tekken Zaibatsu, the character placement mainly comes from 3 top-player locales: Norcal (SVGL), S. Korea, and Japan that have the major influence on what the tier placement is. Obviously that's not saying that those 3 places are the only place of influence, but a majority of it. The people who play the characters and the moves that are abusable also determines the tiers.

Top 3:
EWGF mainly
Hell Sweeps
WD/SDing for good rushdown

DJ:
LS/Laser Gates
SS+2
u/f+4

Hei:
Broken Toy
2, 2 mixups
TPs

Kaz:
d/f+1 mixups
d/b+3
TPs (again)
d/f+2/WS+2

Duk:
VTS w/tech setups
d+4
d+1 (mainly against bigs)
f+2 mixups

I'm curious if anyone here gets the magazine Arcadia? I was told there was some new Tekken 6 information such as item use in the game (ie: Bryan's shotgun, Anna's shoe) and some other things such as a revamp of the fighting system, Yoshimitsu losing power with this sword, etc.

Slayer X Apr 21, 2007 01:48 AM

I don't know about this magazine article, however I have heard one new detail from Tekken Zaibatsu. Apparently each character will have an item attack in their move set. (Ie. Bryan's shotgun)

Ya know, if Namco turns Tekken into a "Hadoken!" fest game...I'll be forced to play DOA5 when it is released. I have this unsettled feeling in the back of my mind that Tekken 6 is going to possibly turn into another Tekken 4.

Slayer X Apr 21, 2007 10:02 AM

I don't think it'll be as bad as Tekken 4 because the fight mechanics are the same as Tekken 5 except with new moves and balancing of course. Ans the levels won't be full of crap to get wall comboed against either. The level design will be similar to that of VF5 really.

As for the item move thing. I was worried at first too but really, these moves will all be point blank moves that could have just as easily been a punch or something but with and item animation added. So instead of performing the Mach Breaker at the end of Bryan's combo, he'll use the shotgun. Balance is the same, just cooler animation.

If you want further changes and info on the mechanics of Tekken 6, just roam the Tekken Zaibatsu forms because all the info from magazines, interviews, and the arcade test location experiances are all documented somewhere in that place.

kainlightwind Apr 21, 2007 10:01 PM

I suppose the plus side of it is the increase of the roster of charcters. More to learn which I don't mind at all. I'm still trying to get down Bob and his air juggles. I get half way through them and can't do any of the finishers. Oh well. Guess I'll just stick with my Kazuya, Yoshimitsu and Roger Jr. If they made the item throw/use more of say, an end combo type attack, I'd be happy with that. Just not something you can do over and over and over again. Namco just needs to steal DOA's environments of how they work and we'd have the perfect 3D fighter game.

Slayer X Apr 22, 2007 12:41 AM

True, the DOA enviroment thing would be cool, but with minimal damage recieved, because Tekken ain't about the enviromental damage and that would ruin it I think.

BIGWORM Apr 22, 2007 05:40 AM

Tekken has virtually no environmental damage--just small wall damage (which W! dmg alone can atone to a good chunk of life if your opp. has a decent wall combo against you).

Slayer X Apr 22, 2007 08:23 AM

I don't want to attack you for this I just want to set the record straight. We didn't say that Tekken has enviromentel damage, we said that Tekken 6 SHOULD have changeable stages like DOA (Can't believe that I'm actually saying that something in DOA is good).

kainlightwind May 25, 2007 09:58 AM

New Tekken 6 scans found in NeoGAF.

Timberwolf Jun 15, 2007 03:34 PM

It's not Tekken 6, but is still great news:

Dark Resurrection goes online

Manny Biggz Jun 16, 2007 01:23 PM

That new character seems so terrible. Namco fails in the originality department. :(

Slayer X Jun 17, 2007 12:30 AM

I don't know. At least their characters look highly detailed and have character. Even if they are cookie-cutter from time to time.

I like how Leo looks like Rock Howard from KoF. Which is probably because Shen from KoF is based off Steve Fox.

Leo

Rock Howard
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...x-Rock-MI2.jpg

Manny Biggz Jun 17, 2007 01:06 AM

But Shen is much more awesome. :D Steve gets beat down with the nerf stick while Shen gets a insanely huge upgrade in KOF XI.

Slayer X Jun 17, 2007 08:06 AM

Meh, I like them both. Steve has killer combos. Especially if you watch EVO videos, you can see his true potential. And Shen has good explosive power for when you need to play keep-away with your opponent.

The Furious One Jun 17, 2007 01:34 PM

man that character appears everywhere

http://xbox360media.ign.com/xbox360/...2113831159.jpg

What 16 year old likes playing the harmonica and enjoys drinking tea >_<

both should be replaced with 'internet porn' or something more believable.

Slayer X Jun 17, 2007 03:18 PM

lol, good point on the profile, ESPECIALLY since he's a DOA character, the low-brow fighter that anyone can play.

But yeah, Elliot does have the right figure and hair, but Leo is definately Rock inspired. Not only is it Leo's appearance that is similar, but also the attire. And also she's a chick trying to pose as a dude because either A) She's in deep shit or B) going to a convention and somehow got mixed up in the King of Iron Fist Tournament 6.

You talkin about Steve 5.0 or Steve DR? I already know about Steve 5.0. He can killl instantly for missing a jab for christ sakes!

Slayer X Jun 18, 2007 05:34 PM

Yeah, Steve 5.0. I haven't seen enough nor been able to get Steve DR to work well enough for me to know his potential. I'm still trying while cursing Namco at the same time, lol.

GameInfarcer Jun 20, 2007 10:25 AM

I can't wait for double-sword Yoshimitsu! And I'm a huge fan of the Jack characters. I love them!

Slayer X Jun 20, 2007 10:36 AM

This is the version I'm getting...

http://kotaku.com/assets/resources/2...arcade_cab.jpg

Now to raid the couch for $36,000USD... that's a lot of poket change.

Timberwolf Jun 20, 2007 09:09 PM

What does everyone here think of the "rage" system. Fighters low on health all of sudden dishing out more damage. No specifics yet.

I want to see it in action before passing judgment... but this could potentially be disastrous if not implemented right.

GameInfarcer Jun 20, 2007 09:20 PM

Yeah, it seems rather pointless to me. I'd rather you fill some sort of meter by accomplishing hard combos and the like.

Slayer X Jun 20, 2007 11:02 PM

Meh, it'll most likely be something that you can turn off and on in the options anyway. If they implement it for when the player is like 1 hit from KO it could actually be cool I think. But it's hard to say more then that without trying it.

Slayer X Jul 5, 2007 11:03 AM

Yeah I know double post and stuff but seeing how that was a good whole ago and all.... [bump]

Posting some vids I found on another forum who got them from youtube.

YouTube Video

I'm really liking Miguel alot now. But what's with that big ass monster? Is that what Sergei Dragunov created when he took Devil Jin away?

YouTube Video

Bob is the MAN ;p. Watch his fight against Ganryu. You'll also notice the look of the character select screen. "Its niiiiice". And this is what happens when he goes against Kazuya Mishima :

YouTube Video

Karasu Sep 14, 2007 07:41 PM

Noooo, Bob is the man! He should win Tekken 6! lol

I like him, what can I say. lmao.
