One thing that you REALLY want

Name one thing (item wise, not talking about love/friendship/power etc) that really attracts you and you are just dying to get it (or already have gotten it). Be specific if you can. (ie Don't just say money)

For example:
I don't normally want something desperately, but after seeing a Samsung K5 MP3 player (the one with a slide out speaker) on a MTV, I've been dying to get one soooooooooo bad! I love how it has a speaker on a MP3 and I just couldn't stop thinking/talking about it everyday until I finally bought one (bu-bye pay check :gonk:) and now I use it everyday!

So I'm just curious if anyone has been dying to get something. :P

Drex Jan 13, 2007 12:33 PM

I'm dying to get a new cell phone (my contract with this one ends next month =D) I've been eyeing the KRZR and the new enV from Verizon, though if Verizon would carry them I'd heavily consider the SLVR and the SLDR (which isn't out for anyone yet, but it's pretty).

Uhh if I were you I'd wait for iPhone

Drex Jan 13, 2007 12:37 PM

Uhh I already have an ipod and don't need all the features, despite it being very cool. And it's way too expensive (I could get a PS3 for that amount :erm:). And it's GSM-only and licensed to Cingular, and I ain't switching or I'd have to pay to talk to my mommy.

So I guess it's a good think you're not me! =D

Sandy Jan 13, 2007 12:42 PM

Yeah Drexy, my friend told me he has been waiting for iPhone, though if I was looking for a new phone I doubt i'd ever use all the features. And we all know as long as the thing looks pretty it's good, right? Right?

Samsung K5 is sooooooooooo pweetie~♪

Aardark Jan 13, 2007 12:42 PM

lol iPhone

it costs 600 dollars...

but it has an aquarium...!

And we all know that aquarium is a must have on a cell phone. :edgarrock:

:P

Domino Jan 13, 2007 12:44 PM

Let's see... I have an MP3 player, I've just bought a new phone, and I got a digital camera for Christmas. The one thing that is on my list that I really want is a Wii. It looks the best of the three next-gen consoles. Unfortunately they are always out of stock, so I'm going to have to wait a little longer before I can get my hands one one.

$600 for a phone? That's crazy talk.

Drex Jan 13, 2007 12:47 PM

I'm still holding out for a phone that includes a razor for me to shave my face, a file so I can do my nails, a hot glue gun so I can do my crafts, and can opener so I'll never go hungry if I'm stranded on a hot desert island with only a crate full of vienna sausages.

I'd have thrown in a dildo so I could be just that gay in there somewhere if I could think of some not-completely-disturbing thing to say about it. :p

I'm greatly disturbed. :psyduck:
A phone and a dildo?!

Wait, what's a dildo?

Vibrating alarm maybe? :tpg:

Drex Jan 13, 2007 12:51 PM

Sandy, can you really be that innocent? ^_^ To save you the trouble of googling it and destroying your innocence forever, we'll just say it's a fake penis and leave it at that. :p

Sandy Jan 13, 2007 12:53 PM

I'm just playing, OO corrupted me already. :(

Temari Jan 13, 2007 12:55 PM

I don't know a specific type yet, but I really really want/need a nice, new car. It's so depressing seeing everyone my age with new cars, while my parents wouldnt even let me get this old beat up one just for traveling to work. Maybe a Z... or a mustang... ugh, who am I kidding? Any car that wont give me trouble would work.

Drex Jan 13, 2007 12:56 PM

I figured, Sandy. ^_~

Temari: Go for the Corolla! I got mine two months ago and love it. =D I would have preferred a Prius, but they're so dang expensive, and only available new (or higher priced than a new one because you bypass the waiting lists).

Sandy Jan 13, 2007 12:58 PM

Lucky for you, I can probably only afford a .... bike.

guyinrubbersuit Jan 13, 2007 01:14 PM

I want this bad boy. It's a Schecter 7 string Hellraiser. I've been wanting a 7-string guitar for a while and I like the Schecter's look and feel. Plus Jeff Loomis uses one.

Spatula Jan 13, 2007 01:15 PM

I want to be like Megalith. Why lie.

More specifically, I've been eyeing for over a year a bit for a new Samsung 40 inch LCD TV with a home theatre sound system. The only problem with me not being able to quote an exact model number is that I'm waiting for a 1080p capable TV that fits the above description. Edit: actually I didn't expect Samsung to come out with 1080ps already for the 40 inch LCDs, looks like the LNS4095D catches my attention so far.

Wait, Megalith would have NEVER chose non-Japanese home electronics.

Temari Jan 13, 2007 01:21 PM

Haha, never said I could afford said 'nice new car'... the beat up car my parents wouldnt let me get because of the insurance was a '91 Honda civic. It would have cost me $900, and even that would be straining my accounts at this point.

Its really depressing going to college and not being able to afford anything, while I hear about old high school classmates who skipped college and are already making a shitload of money that I can only dream about. :(:(:(

Ugh, Drex, that Corolla looks so sexy! Looking at nice cars makes me cry. You have my envy. :(

HEY! You can't want the same car as me ;)

If I could have one item, it would be the most souped up Mac Pro I could buy, complete with two 30" monitors. Mmmm, that would be sexy!

The Wise Vivi Jan 13, 2007 01:27 PM

I would LOVE to get a new LCD monitor and wireless surround sound speakers for my computer! It would make an awesome match to my brand new computer!

Or a PS3, mainly because of MGS4 and NASCAR, and Gran Turismo 5 which will all be coming out someday in the future.

Ok, I guess it is more than one thing..... first on the list would be the LCD monitor then!

Angel of Light Jan 13, 2007 01:39 PM

I guess the biggest thing I would really want is large LCD TV with surround sound stereo system. Me and my gf just bought a brand new house, and eventually when we have bought the essential necessities that we need for our home.

Just to sum it up, we want to have an incredible audio/video set up for our video games and our video game collection. Its not going to come right away we have to work on it a little bit but its definetely going to be a prime feature of our brand new house.

If I really wanted to be greedy I would like to have my very own arcade machine of DDR Supernova and IIDX 14th Style Gold.

Me and my gf can live without cell phones and mp3 players. We don't even want to touch any mac product that starts with the letter I. Except maybe a Mac computer, because my gf loves to do a lot of photo and video editing.

Soluzar Jan 13, 2007 01:44 PM

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess on GameCube. Never have I wanted something so much and been so completely unable to obtain it.

deadsky Jan 13, 2007 01:45 PM

Definitely a Wii or a new computer, this one's on its last legs.
Or a T-Rex....that'd be sweet :D

Des Jan 13, 2007 01:56 PM

I would have to say an xbox 360 and oblivian since it's the cheapest way to play oblivian right now. Every time I start to get close something big comes along and I end up broke. Stupid college, I can't afford to be smart XD

Pokey Jan 13, 2007 02:06 PM

I feel torture just looking at it.

Krelian Jan 13, 2007 02:20 PM

A home.

I haven't had a single place I could call a permanent base since the age of thirteen, and that's really starting to bite at me. Too many people around me take that shit for granted; I just want somewhere I can call home again.

Soldier Jan 13, 2007 02:23 PM

A Nintendo Wii. :(

Also, a house on the beach.

Summonmaster Jan 13, 2007 02:25 PM

I really want the guitar tab scorebooks for Go! Go! 7188's entire discography. The only place on the internet that I see has them is yesasia, but even then, they just have very sketchy descriptions and inaccurate ones at that. The romaji make me reluctant: "gogo nanaichihachihachi sukoabukusu!" No pictures too :( and even worse, no scans =(

Shorty Jan 13, 2007 05:13 PM

I want to live with my cousins and grandparents in Japan... I visited them in November last year after almost 12 years of absence and it pains me to see how much I've missed out on family. :(

Immortal Jan 13, 2007 05:16 PM

I would like approximately $12,000 so I can build a beast of a motor.

Sandy Jan 13, 2007 06:18 PM

Krelian's response really got me, I hope you are able to find one soon Kre! :)

Shoops Jan 13, 2007 07:59 PM

Single Elbow Jan 13, 2007 08:12 PM

It's either a high-end laptop/PC.

Or an Iaudio F2 4GB.

Samsung's K5 may be pretty but it won't cut it for me. I mean, it mostly shares with LG's Chocolate phone and the phone didn't cut it for me. Something more than pretty is what I'm looking for.

PiccoloNamek Jan 13, 2007 08:30 PM

A Singlepower PPX3 SLAM tube headphone amplifier. I heard one today at a local headphone meet. It sounded awesome.

As for what I really want, I really can't think of anything; I'm satisfied with all that I've got, really. But if I had to choose, I'd like a bigger room. My one's too cramped.

galen Jan 13, 2007 09:34 PM

M!dn@'s (ugh) probably just a dupe account.

Why Am I Allowed to Have Gray Paint Jan 13, 2007 09:52 PM

I'd love one of these, and a nice big LCD to go with it. There's still plenty of life left in my old dual socket system but this thing really looks like it means business.

JackTheRipper Jan 13, 2007 10:24 PM

I really want to get the Xbox 360. Mainly so I can play Dead Rising, Topspin tennis 2 and eventually guitar hero 2 when it comes out for the 360/

Infernal Monkey Jan 13, 2007 10:45 PM

A new pair of shoes. My current ones have sort of broken in half so they flop around like thongs. Decent enough for walkin', not for fancy walkin'. Also these shoes have to print money, enable me to fly, create Lego blocks at random and be roughly three times bigger than the known universe, as to not piss off the much larger unknown universe on an episode of Jerry Springer. I wouldn't want him to repeat "YOU DON'T KNOW ME" over and over, I'd get a headache! Maybe these shoes should also make aspirins. And dinner. Not aspirins for dinner though, like, actual dinner. Consisting of food. Unless the unknown universe is over that night, then it'd be an aspirin meal. But he wouldn't even fit in the house. What a situation!

Those are one pair of epic shoes :D

Void Jan 14, 2007 12:19 AM

I honestly don't want anything at the moment. I try not to want things. But when I start thinking of things I want, I go crazy and can't stop. So I'll just list one thing: Blackberry Pearl.

I just wish it wasn't $200. Not that I can't afford it, I'd just never spend that much on a fucking phone regardless of what it's capable of.

Helloween Jan 14, 2007 12:26 AM

At the moment, probably just a new computer. Not sure what type, or specs yet, as i recently started toying with the idea of getting a new one.

Other than that, a six string Bass guitar would probably be next on my list. That's still a bit if for me though, cause i'm not sure how much longer i'm going to stay in music, as i'd like to start to focus myself, instead of trying to always be the jack of all trades.

Right now, i'll just settle on a Wii. I really want a Wii.

It's not just pretty, it has a speaker!! Speaaaaker!!! ;=;

I use it as my alarm clock now :P

K_ Takahashi Jan 14, 2007 03:22 AM

For me, material things can wait, sure theyre nice and all, but I have what I want (for the most part).

All I want really is to get a place (big apartment/house) that at least has a room I can set shit up in since its all in boxes for the past two years.

Lalala Jan 14, 2007 03:45 AM

I really would like a new computer. My computer is like a Windows 98 upgraded to a Windows XP. My computer is super fast but I can hardly play 3d games on it such as FF online, Roller Coaster 3 etc. I still have computer games from christmas 05 that I still haven't played yet, all because my computer sucks. Not only that but my cds skip whenever I try to play them on my comp (thank god for downloading music and itunes). Okay enough with the rant. :x

Dark Nation Jan 14, 2007 03:46 AM

I want the Wii. ...but I'm broke right now. On the up-side, by the time I get it, I'll have a larger selection of games to choose from :)

munchkin13 Jan 14, 2007 07:38 AM

I'd like a PS3 or an Xbox 360. I know thats 2 things but I like choice :)

kinkymagic Jan 14, 2007 10:12 AM

I'd like a segway, all this walking is tiring me out.

Chaotic Jan 14, 2007 10:44 AM

If I had the choice between a new labtop or a Wii, J'd choose the Wii. Due to my parents choice, I'm probably guaranteed a new labtop by June. The Wii is just more of a struggle to find, making me want it even more.

I gotta go Wii Hunting today...

brknredcrayon Jan 14, 2007 01:38 PM

drum roll plzzzzz........

a Wii or a DS light w/ Cooking Mama. Unoriginal I know, but i guess that is why they are popular. Also that game cooking Mama is the shit.

man, if that's what the new skyline is going to look like i will be PISSED! I really don't like the way the front of that looks.

I'd rather get a G-35 coupe with enough money to tune it the way i want.

That or a fat plot of land somehwere with ridiculously high prices like the south side or china, or the state of california or something.

Bernard Black Jan 17, 2007 06:13 PM

I would love a game console that doesn't cut out like a motherfucker halfway through jumping some chasm. Fuck that shit. I don't care what it is as long as it works.

Mucknuggle Jan 17, 2007 06:55 PM

I want a license to practice medicine in Montreal.

If that doesn't count, a fully furnished downtown condo or loft, in Montreal. That would be sweet. I'll probably have one in 10-15 years.

franposis Jan 17, 2007 06:59 PM

I really want a work shirt like the guy in A Town Called Eureka!, where it says 'Mechanic' but then he can take the tag off and swap it for another. He believe he had a 'Quantum Physicist' one amongst other. ^_^

Matt Jan 17, 2007 11:51 PM

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Omnislash124 Jan 18, 2007 07:31 AM

I want either one of two things.

1. Nintendo Wii because it kicks ass.

OR

2. A new Computer because my current one sucks ass.

(Dell Dimension 4600, 2.8GHz (Yeah, P4 Prescott), 1GB PC3200 (Yeah, DDR1), GeForce 6600GT (Yeah, AGP), and 5 hard drives that add up to 700GB (Yeah, PATA/IDE). Outdated like all hell.)

Alice Jan 18, 2007 07:45 AM

This isn't really an item, but I want a trip to Japan more than anything. If I had to choose an item, I'd say a huge emerald ring. I've always wanted one and secretly hoped I'd get an emerald instead of a diamond in my engagement ring. Too bad men aren't mind readers.

I also want to say that after reading Krelian's response all of these wants - including mine - seem very petty.

If this wasn't mentioned, I'd probably go with your what you said (confidence) or smarts, as I'm not very bright/interesting. As for a material want? It's been said already, but a new surround system. I've got a nice-for-its-price Onkyo setup now, but I'd like some NHT Threes (surrounds + center) and that sweet SVS PB-10 subwoofer. I've been checking these things out for a long time, but the Threes are pretty elusive and the subwoofer, while incredible for its price, is still expensive.

Plus, I'd need a new receiver since the Threes (3-way monitors: tweeter, midrange and woofer) need some juice to sound well. Oh, and a SPL meter so I can set the speaker imaging, center distance, levels correctly.

RABicle Jan 18, 2007 09:17 AM

If actual material items were the intention, I suppose my choice would be the other two Pearls Before Swine books. Man, that strip is hilarious.

The Plane Is A Tiger Jan 18, 2007 12:53 PM

I'm not really dying to have anything at the moment, but a new laptop would be quite nice. My current one has always had ventilation issues and made the occassional squealing noises, but lately the mouse port has started acting up as well and the speakers aren't doing great anymore. Luckily I use a USB mouse and have extra speakers on hand anyway, but it would really be nice to get a whole new computer. This Alienware has been pretty reliable and sturdy over the past 3 years, so I wouldn't mind getting another one. I'd want a bigger harddrive and a wireless card this time though.

Yeah, OP meant intangible things. Hell, if Sandy had allowed for those, I'm not sure anyone would choose something you could buy over a trait you could enhance or whatnot.

Thats it. -

xLilJazzy Jan 20, 2007 12:14 AM

Well, in past tense, I HAD really wanted the Canon G7 camera. But I have that now. :p

So now, I want an 80gig Ipod or external drive..
And I really want an acoustic steel-string guitar, I don't know which one yet, but I want one!

I've always wanted one of those too! (Though I can only play like 1-2 songs on a piano.... lol self taught)

Then my bro got a electronic piano, I guess it worked as well. :P
