Rozen Maiden
Rozen Maiden Discussion Thread http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a51...UDESUDUESU.gif In this thread we can discuss the anime Rozen Maiden. Short Description: Sakurada Jun was in the second grade of junior high, but he dropped out of school because he had problems socializing with his classmates. After he quit school, Jun refused to go out, and spent all his time at home shopping on the internet for 'weird' or 'cursed' items. One day, a mysterious box appeared in the middle of his room. When he opened the box, he found a sophisticated doll, which looked so real that it appeared to be alive... Wikipedia Rozen Maiden Article Quote:
Your favourite doll Your favourite episode The Manga Suiseiseki! <3 (She's so great desu~! Just anything related to Rozen Maiden! : P I know I had that avatar but actually I hadnt seen this yet. >.< |
I just finished the first season a few hours ago. I found the series entertaining to watch. But then again, I haven't been watching too much anime.
However, I do want to note that there is a second season of Rozen Maiden called Rozen Maiden: Traumend which is also 12 Episodes. I'm pretty sure that's the end of the series, since I think that's when the Alice game ends. |
having watched the first and second seasons of Rozen Maiden
its a very cool anime i like the concept and art style a lot (duh peach-pit) and i plan to buy the manga when it comes to the states this may? ( i think) as the fan-scanners that do the series is slow as hell haha i loved the member here who had the hina-ichigo avatar/sig combo it was so dare i say it "cute" :shh: |
Mmm, I decided to watch this after Dan mentioned it on his Clone Army website. Finally found out who the person was in Lord Styphon's avatar. Anywho, amazing series, I really thoroughly enjoyed it. Immediately after finishing the first set, I went on to watch Traumend as well (wtf does that mean anyways?).

I'm pretty sure that there will be a 3rd season. At least I sure hope there will be, the ending of the second one leaves ALOT of room for more story development.
I think I liked the second season more than the first, the funny episodes seemed more, well, funny, and the dramatic episodes were more intense Spoiler:
I should also note that EVERYONE whom I've shown this anime to has loved it, even my mom who normally hates anime... |

Does Rozen Maiden remind anybody of Highlander? "There can be only One!" LOL... |

Hina Ichigo was definitely one of my favorite dolls. Usually I find the happy-go-lucky type anime characters generally annoying, however this particular character seemed to light up the whole mood. She took simple pleasures in "life" and seemed to set a happy mood - (spoiler regarding Hina Ichigo if you haven't finished Traumend)
Spoiler:
Indeed, all this talk about being chosen as Alice did bring up some notions of "Highlander" and bits of Battle Royale - however a much more comical version, at that. I think what quickly drew me in were the two OP themes done by "ALI PROJECT" - Kinjirareta Asobi for the 1st season, and Seishojo Ryoiki for the 2nd season. I have to admit, I would absolutely HATE these J-pop songs if I were to never see them with Rozen Maiden, but somehow after seeing them with the OP videos, they have grown on me I really like them now. Oh yes, I watched Traumend first before the first season, and the Seishojo Ryoiki OP theme somehow made me smile immediately, even before knowing anything about this series. Quote:

I really hope that a 3rd season comes out. I haven't seen the first season yet, but I've already finished the second. Logical, yes. Great drama mixed in with lighter scenes. The music was also very nice, especially the ending theme!

Actually, I liked all of the dolls, including Barasuisho. Spoiler:

I do have to say that I can't stand Hina Ichigo. Her childish ways, but that is her character and I accept that. I guess she's a good character to put on the show for those lighter moments. I think I enjoy the fighting scenes and the man vs. himself conflicts in the first season.
Of the dolls, I've seen so far, Shinko is definitely my favorite, even though she is very arrogant at times. I truly do enjoy the series for the character development, even if the focus is the development of the dolls. Note to self: Watch the second season so I can read the spoiler tags and actually follow the discussion. |
I finished this and Traumend as well.
At first I hated Hina Ichigo, but she became to cute despise, what with her elephant watering can and hiding under Jun's bed. I also like Kanaria a lot. Using a violin to conjure wind and attack with sound is wicked. My favourite part was in Traumend: Spoiler:
The lighthearted episodes are hilarious. I like Shinku's obsession with Detective Kun Kun, and the "stairs" episode a lot. Jun is highly dislikeable to the very end of the first season, but I changed my mind after starting Traumend. I was also confused about Styphon's signature, not knowing that it was Suigin Tou ("~Mitsu-kete!~"), as well as Acer Bandit's shifting Hina Ichigo. I though this was ecchi upon first ever hearing the title and seeing that there were lots of girls, but I was totally wrong. It easily became my favourite series! |
At first I HATED Kanaria with a passion, but I think she redeemed herself at the end of the series.

also....... my question Spoiler:
Suigin Tou's voice actor is also Koyomi's from Azumanga and Lacus Clyne from Gundam Seed, which is pretty cool I might add. |
That question makes we wonder too.
About Barasuishou at the end: Spoiler:
Kanaria was an annoying bitch, ten times worse than Hina Ichigo. Well at least Hina seemed fun and happy whenever eating cake and ichigos, so that added to the cute factor, but Kanaria was just all around annoying. |

Haha! I loved this scene in episode 6 where Jun and Shinku are sitting on Jun's bed looking out the window and Shinku notices Jun is looking at her and says to him
What are you looking at? Jun: N- Nothing. What are you talking about? Shinku: I see. That's too bad... Don't you see? My true feelings... Jun: Sh- Shinku... (kinda dreaming and stunned) Then Shinku slaps in out of it and says "I'm kidding. Don't get yourself in the mood! (in such a calm and matter of fact way as usual) HAHA! Priceless scene!! :tpg: |
Also. I finished the first season a few days ago. I gotta say apart from Suisuseki the highlight of this anime seems to be the "relatioship/chemistry" between Jun and Shinku. I didn't know it would develop as it did and I look forward to seeing more when my Traumend torrent finally finishes. ;___;
Very good anime! |
Did you get to the nekkid buttsecks part yet? Yeah oh yeah!

Who subbed Traumend and did a decent job of it? I remember watching one, and the english was shite beyond all belief I had to turn it off. Plus it was in realplayer format which I really didn't appreciate.
|
Some group named Ayu made the subs for the version that I watched. I thought that they did an excellent job. I only noticed a few discrepancies that bothered me.
|
Yes I think I watched the AYU subs for both seasons. let me try to find the torrent links...
|
Could I just upload the torrent files right here? Cuz I have not yet deleted them.
|
A link to Ayu's Traumend batch torrent is fine too.
I watched AnimeLito for subs while the show was running, but my archived files are Ayu's, since they used the HDTV widescreen editions instead of the regular broadcasts. And since I watched Ayu's subs of the first season. (Sorry marienkind, wherever you are.) |
Hmmm... the first season that I have was subbed really well. I hope I am DLing the right Traumend torrent. Mine says [Ayu]_Rozen_Maiden_02-12[FINAL]
I'm guessing it's fine. Damn slow though. >__> |
If it doesn't say traumend in the torrent, and that is what you intend to download, then you are not getting the right torrent.(assuming that is what you are talking about)
BTW, I'll force-seed for ya. :p |

Oh and fyi there's been news about a rozen maiden ova. |

Sorry, but I cannot see how chachamaru's Engrish can be considered comparable to AnimeLito's subs, which were at least watchable. |

I was kind of confused by that as well, but I figured that what they meant by "final" was that they had completed all subs for the entire season, and so that is the final pack. |

I actually preferred chachamaru's subs. Sure, there was some Engrish, but it was still understandable. What I liked about them though, was that each character had their own text color. Shinku had red subs, SuiseiSeki had green, and so on. I thought that was pretty cool...
If there is a season 3, I hope that chachamaru subs it... |

About the OVA... i need to dig it up on my forums again... |

::dies:: Thanks for the info. ;__; |
No prob bob.
But why the "dies"? |
Because I was downloading the fucking wrong torrent for like 2 weeks!! So now I just deleted that shite and I used the link Lord Styphon posted for the Traumend torrent. Hope it's fast. ;__;
|
It had better be. I am uploading ridiculously fast.
|
LOL at Jan. Stupid nut.
But don't worry, you'll enjoy Traumend. It does put a nice tie to some of the issues presented in the first season. Also, the 2nd OP theme is more enjoyable than the first, personally. |
@ Spatula. You're the nut! >=O ::eats you::
@ Fyodor. Is 0 kb/sec fast? Why the fuck is bittorrent always so slow for me and don't say it's due to a firewall, it's not the case. ::eats u 2:: >= ) |
There is a large image board for Rozen Maiden here, if anyone doesn't know. I insolently assumed some don't because it's hidden under the Touhou Image Board.
Touhou is a series of games (which I play), so I accidently tripped on Rozen Maiden and remembered seeing some familiar avatars... Apparently, the only connection between Touhou and Rozen Maiden is that the author of the discussion subject is a great fan of the concerned game series. There is wide range of interesting pictures, I picked a personally amusing one as an example. http://www.pooshlmer.com/wakaba/src/1146903798383.jpg May this board be of use for some of you. |

I don't know if you've read about this since this thread stopped getting posts, but I did a search and couldn't find anything in here about this. It seems they are making an OVA which people at a few messageboards are speculating will air in December. I don't know if you can read Japanese but it basically indicates that it's going to be based on Suigintou. The fact that the German title translates into English as 'Overture' hints fairly strongly at the fact that it's going to be a prequel, which I think will be all about the origins of Suigintou. I read somewhere else randomly that there were rumblings of another tv series coming after the OVA, but there's nothing other than speculation. <3 Rozen Maiden. |
I am deeply excited for this!
I no longer feel despair. I will have my ring and earring set on in anticipation 8-) |
The new OVA (Ouverture) is set this month the 22nd or the 23rd. In the opening, you notice the spotlight is more on Suiginto. ANN doesn't have much info on it. So this means the OVA takes place between Traumend and Ouverture..or what? The animation is a little different but maybe its just the opening. Here's the official site and opening
http://www.tbs.co.jp/rozen-maiden/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smS3R7DwZ6A Yes, Ali-Project sings in this one. Not bad but not better than Traumend's. |
Oh, Lord Styphon may be pleased! ^__^
I'm looking forward to it. I found much of Suigintou's role was spotlighted just your regular "bad villian" which was then quickly shifted to Barasuishou for the 2nd season, but it's nice to know more of her and it might reveal some more history, although I'm not too sure how much they can cram into 2 ova episodes. |
Joyous news! More Suigintou is always cool, but I get the sinking feeling that while good, this won't be as satisfactory as the third season to wrap up all the loose ends from the end of Traumend :s You can't complain about another Ali Project song though. I wonder if any new dolls will pop up?

A twin wouldn't be too fun since the crystal action would be same old stuff seen from Barasuisho. New powers would be lots of fun though. More Kanaria action would satisfy me for sure, or an even less brattier Jun.
|
in the opening theme i see the dolls that died/broke is it possible for them to come back?
more Barasuishou and kanaria is a godsend. |
We've got the first episode on release by some group. Im desperate so I want to see how this one turns out. Ouverture is only 2 episodes , btw.
http://datorrents.com/download.asp?i...ub.avi.torrent EDIT : The subs are shitty as fuck. Proceed with caution. So far I'm not seeing this as a sequel to anything but probably a prequel -_-. Spoiler:
|
eh the subs weren't that bad
well..not as bad as the first sub team that did the sequel this Ova seems like it happen between some episodes in the sequel . |
Yeah. I wasn't going to expect much from the OVA but it was worth watching a few battles from the past.
edit: As far as the subs for the sequel goes.. I didn't have a problem with the subtitles. That is because Ayu's isn't so bad. Which group are you talking about?. I think the OVA's were probably between scenes when Kanaria first showed up. Well, better take advantage of this time and watch it again. Truth be told, I never saw the first season.. |
Tired so please don't mind if i mis-spelled something...
I sat back and watched the first season. After watching the last two episodes in the first season, I was kinda happy to see Suigin-Tou tear Shinku's arm off. Why? I guess since I saw Ouverture before S1, Shinku was full of pride and looked very egotistical (not to mention telling a scarred Suigin Tou in Ouverture that she is the Ultimate Rozen Maiden) compared to the Shinku we see now and the real 3rd season that's coming up in the future. If I had seen season 1 first I'd probably feel pity for Shinku. Watching that fight made me happy to see SuiginTou get her back for all the junk-bs Shinku gave her. When she was hiding in Jun's place, She started to feel her pain when she complained about her arm being teared off. Now she knows for damn sure that she shouldn't address her as that. Pretty much the OVA shows not only of their past rivalry but to show that Shinku should never use the word "junk" all the time ;p . Don't mind the fanboy-ism. Watching the first season made me decide to buy the US DVD releases ^^; . Now I finished watching s2's first episode. To not kill the mood as much. I'll just end up watching an episode once a week or wait til I get news about a season 3. The OVA was just a damn teaser!. |

Spoiler:
Imma get me some Ouverture tomorrow. Didn't kno the subs were released already. |
Does anybody have the opening and ending songs in mp3 yet?
I know I'm a jerk for asking here and not in audio requests, but if it makes you feel better I already asked there and my thread went to page 3 in like 12 seconds. 8-) |
Excuses. Excuses ;p
http://www.sendspace.com/file/anq5pb - That also includes the OVA's opening. The ED theme didn't come out yet. |
Today ANN announced Geneon's Licensing on the tv series. Oh well. We'll still get a sub group ;p.
