Angry Video Game Nerd... Totally Awesome
This guy is either lol funny because he speaks the truth or lol funny because he bitches so much when he basically sucks at nes games... personally i'm going more with the latter statement.
I've included most of his game reviews so you have a choice but I don't exspect any sane person who isn't bored to death like I was to watch them all... This guy is hilarious. The only one that I hated was the Master Chu one, for obvious reasons. I would think if you watched just a few of his videos you'd realize that he doesn't suck at the games; he understands what makes them good and bad; what, is your nostalgia getting the way of agreeing with him?

Not really he just seems to bitch a little too much for my tastes... that and he sucks at Double Dragon 3 the AI on level 1 is far easier to fool then he claims it to be :D

Angry Nintendo Nerd is pretty awesome, even though a few of his videos are lacking in comparison. I think some of his phrase choices are great. "It fucking sucks, it sucking fucks, it fucking blows, it's a piece of shit...and I don't like it." Priceless.

The Roger Rabbit phone call cracked me up. Some of the footage highlights ridiculous gameplay, TMNT has a class moment (Walking over that part)! I think Angry Nintendo Nerd is okay at games, I mean if it got to the point where he was a perfectionist then maybe these vids wouldn't happen, for he is past the point of differentiating between what was good/bad to that degree. Funny shit anyway.

This guy's pretty funny. I've found some of his videos to be lacking, but the McKids one had me almost rolling on the floor. I showed it to my friend who's a big McKids player, and he loved it too.
I'll give this guy space on the internet. He's got something to offer in terms of entertainment, but after a while his "creative" phrase choices and constant swears gets old. |
I don't really enjoy it too much. He relies too much on swearing too much. That parody was hilarious and captured all the stupid things about him.
He does find really dumb flaws in games though, ones that shouldn't be there or are bad. He's just not a funny person himself. |
Yeah, he's fairly good...if you get past the CONSTANT SWEARING. I think that actually distracts from his overall meaning...

I enjoy it when he fails at the games more than the reviews that he gives. I thought it was hysterical when he had trouble with the gap near the roof in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game. He obviously didn't remember that he could walk over gaps like he did around the 3:39-3:41 mark earlier in the video.

While I enjoyed his reviews of the games, and I don't care what you say, Friday the 13th NES game is crap...., his swearing went a little overboard at times. Still, he does a fairly good job critique them.

I thought this guy was very amusing especially in the Back To The Future one. I was literally turning purple laughing b/c of the cut scenes from the movie. They way he arranged them in the video was absolutely perfect. This was some classic stuff.

I will have to say that in all fairness...M.C. Kids was NOT that bad of a game. I wouldn't have had a problem with the storyline or music being smashed, but the control was fairly solid and there was a degree of originality with running upside down, using heavy bricks, and so forth.

Oh there's a thread on this dude now. =o Yeah, he's awesome. Although since Screw Attack got a hold of him and did the whole new review every week for six weeks, he went downhill a bit. It was like he was just extremely bored rather than extremely angry, especially McKids.

Yeah, Mckids was good. But I have a question. Is it true you cannot finish the game because there is no way to get through the lava thingy stuff? I mean, that is pretty sad... like the producers got bored making it or something.
I would be pissed if I bought a game I couldn't finish. |

It's not supposed to be an "accurate review" - he's not REALLY angry, and yeah it's up to you if you think he's funny because he sucks at the games or because he swears or whatever. I just don't get why people would say "He's not funny because Double Dragon is not as hard as he says it is" or "That's not cool because I like that game"
I mean, if someone made a comedy video about how much "A Link to the Past" sucks, I'd still laugh if it was funny - even though ALTTP is a great game. I know most of you get this, there's just a few whose mind don't seem to appreciate irony, sarcasm or anything humorous And for the record, I think this guy is great - though some of his videos don't really live up to the rest. |

Of course. That's why I think he's so damn funny also. Sorry I didn't point that out. I'll admit most of those games I haven't played myself, but I have played TMNT. Though I didn't think it was half bad, the way he shows of all the "worst qualities" of the game is really funny, and you can really identify with his frustration :)

Thasnk you for exposing us to this :). I was howling at Castlevania 2 and TMNT in particular. These little flaws = challenging bits in those crazy old NES games are hilarious since they're obviously more fustrating than challenging. It's also game exposure too, and I'm now tempted to check out McKids.
I wish he'd cover some of my favourites too like Mappy, or maybe something like Maniac Mansion. |
Haha, well, if you actually try, you can find flaws in almost EVERY game ever made. There has not been a perfect game to date, so there are infinite possibilities. I'm actually intrigued about Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde because I didn't get it.....or at least I think I Didn't get it....that gameplay video seemed short...

His new Nightmare on Elm street is quality, IMO. I like when he does a little more stuff than just his angry review. Showing off a some of his Film skills. The premise of the Nightmare on Elm street one is executed pretty well, too. I personally don't mind his excessive swearing. I mean shit if I played as many Nintendo games as he had, I would have to digress to vulgar descriptions of nasty stuff w/ swear words too.
... "Or.. wait, Bimmy Lee?" So funny. Love the theme song too, had it stuck in my head today. |

LOL, I love his videos. I actually beat some of those games he's ranting about a long time ago (TMNT, Castlevania 2), but he does make a good point on some of these things.
I particuarly loved his Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street sketches. That's something I probably would've done if I made a student/amateur film about games lol. Spoiler:

I only watched TMNT and Castlevania (kind of half assed watched), and seen the somethingawful parody. I think the somethingawful parody is actually funnier. But TMNT was good for a few chuckles. Things that are needlessly annoying are apparent in all games, really.

On a side note, I hated the Friday The 13th game. I was completely lost on how to play the game. Those houses creeped me out for some reason. |

Hah! I remember this guy! He complained about the Ninja Turtles game which I agree was horrendously absurd. I remember playing that game years ago, but I only played it to see the turtles. I had no hope in beating that game.
Games in the earlier generations are 10 times as hard as the ones out today. Some of them were just broken. |

Watched the fucking TMNT one and it was so true, though I feel a sense of pride now for going through that game successfully when it came out. Great fucking shit.

I remember Ducktales. Easily one of my favorite played games on the NES. I just can't believe he actually gave a positive review for once. I mean he didn't even say anything when he landed the plane in Top Gun with the Power Glove (probably fake but funny anyway)

I actually liked the first thing with Noah's Ark (the christmas one). Not the 3D one though.

So damn funny, I was about to burst out laughing in the library that I'm currently in. I do agree though, that some of his swearing gets old and stuff, but it's still funny, nonetheless. |
