Any PSO fans out there?

I know people have probably heard of the games, but does anybody here actually play it? Also, if you do, what clans are you a part of?

I used to play Version 1 a lot. I'm trying to get into Blue Burst right now.

Lukage Mar 8, 2006 07:30 PM

Phantasy Star Online.

EDIT: I uhh, play the Gamecube version....got the Dreamcast one recently. Trying to master 1p first.

the quiet fox Mar 8, 2006 08:47 PM

I talked about this in another thread. I don't play PSO online anymore, sadly - lack of money plus stupid team drama didn't make US Blue Burst all that appealing. (Though, hopeless case that I am, I still consider going back every now and then. But PSU is coming out so soon...)

On the US servers I was a member of jeM for a little while. On the JP servers I was a proud member of The Red Team. Represent. \o/

B4-Hunter Mar 9, 2006 04:21 AM

Well I was playing on Dreamcast for a looooong time =) I don't remember witch race I was playing with but I remember that my favorite weapon was blade =) I have seen that in Blue Burst you can use dual blades =D That would be great!!!

Lady Miyomi Mar 9, 2006 12:08 PM

The race of my character on Version 1 was hunewearl (my avatars). I loved the Spread Needle, Lavis Cannon, and the SB blades. I wish there was some way I could play Blue Burst on my computer and offline for awhile without having to pay for it.

the quiet fox Mar 9, 2006 12:22 PM

My RAmar online never found the Spread Needle he was hunting. :( I had to make do with a Final Impact, which was fine, if a little slow.

I have an inexplicable love for handguns, especially the Custom Ray. I have no idea why.

Josiah Mar 9, 2006 06:48 PM

I suppose my av and title there say enough. I particularly didn't like the Spread Needle, mostly because most forms of it that I saw were some really cheap hack that'd kill everything before my HUmar could even get a hit in. The first few months I played it online on the Dreamcast were heavenly for sure, but once the cheats started spreading, the game (at least version 1 on the Dreamcast) went the way of Diablo on Battle.net. And while I have episode 1&2 on the Gamecube now, I don't play it online. Same issue, lack of money. And in order for Multi Mode to really work from what I've seen, you have to have several people living pretty close to each other that are all quite into it. Otherwise, you either all get schooled by the monsters or you have one person that does fine while his buddy(ies) keep dying on him.

As for my character, it was a HUmar like I already said, with a little emphasis in magic ability as well as attack power (my MAG was 40 DEF, 100 POW, 30 DEX and 40 MIND). I went the saber route for a good while, until one day in Hard or VHard Forest I found a repeater (mechgun) and decided to give it a try. Oh, what wonders it did. Ever since, I had a mechgun weapon for every area with the right photon for it, such as a Charge Repeater for Forest with 50% photon on Native monsters (which was easy to accomodate with the YELLOWBOZE Id). I would switch things around sometimes too, like a Soul Calibur (:tpg:) in the Ruins.

I did get Version 2 on the Dreamcast, but I never got to play it online. Made it to the Ruins in Ultimate Mode but stopped there. I just kept getting wasted by everything, even with Shifta and Deband on myself and Jellen and Zalure on the baddies (which..none of which I can cast with my recreation in Episode I&II on the GC for some reason :( ).

So, now, I've remade that HUmar for Episode I&II on the Cube and am currently going through Episode II on Normal. I'm having a fun time, but I do admit I miss the online days. Those days are what rank PSO as one of my favorite RPGs.

Kimchi Mar 9, 2006 06:50 PM

I always play PSO on psocheats.net, from Broomop, Sega is on to them (private server) or seomthing. Right now I am wating for PSU, and possibly PSU private >.>

Lady Miyomi Mar 10, 2006 01:32 AM

How do you do that? Are you doing this one the computer?

WolfDemon Mar 10, 2006 01:45 AM

I loved PSO on Xbox. I've been wanting to go back to it, but that stupid hunter's license... Hopefully Universe will be free.

Lady Miyomi Mar 10, 2006 01:52 AM

Now I'm curious, can any PC versions of PSO be bought at, say EB or Gamestop? I downloaded the PSO demo, but I can't really play it because I don't get hurt or anything.

I was unaware of a PC version. I'd have bought that rather than my GC one (cause of the...ya know, awesome online support the cube has)

the quiet fox Mar 10, 2006 10:36 AM

I don't believe there are any current PC versions of PSO, just an old version that was a port of the Dreamcast game (I'm going completely from memory here, so I may be wrong). Well, there's Blue Burst, but you can't buy a boxed version of that save for the Japanese episode 4 box.

Shenlon Mar 10, 2006 11:16 AM

I still sometimes play on the pc version. I of course play the hacked and private servers. But there so many "hacks" that can really ruin the experience of the game.

Lady Miyomi Mar 10, 2006 11:38 AM

OK, if I download Blue Burst (which I'm about to), would I still have to pay to play it offline after the trial period?

Kimchi Mar 12, 2006 12:55 AM

The site is www.poscheats.net

You will have to download some stuffs. And you will be able to play on PSO private server for free. And most of the players hack to be like 1123121 lvl. And there are 2 types. Legit and another server with hacks. But admis doesnt give a shit if you hack on legit. ( How do I know? Me and Brommop used hacked shit on legit server XD)

Parn Mar 12, 2006 08:09 AM

I used to play this extensively, having imported the original Japanese release on Dreamcast and being pleasantly surprised to play an import game in full English. Was even more pleasantly surprised to see US servers up alongside the Japanese servers when the game launched, which probably meant they had originally intended on having a simultaneous release. The Japanese version of the game was pretty buggy though (if you had a crash, ALL your item data was wiped, not just non-equipped items... yes, this included your banked items and meseta), and I wasted no time picking up the US release.

Then sometime later, PSO Version 2 came out, and I captured several screenshots and the like back when I was still working at RPGFan... was nice having exclusive content for the site back then. Played that extensively.

Long story short, I've played every version of PSO ever released, and quite frankly... I'm all PSO'd out. Have been for the longest time. I've seen and done just about everything there was to do in the game, and the atmosphere that the game's playerbase once had is all but non-existant these days. People bickering over "teams" on PSO Blue Burst is hilariously retarded.

So, I'm on standby, waiting for PSU to ship. Have my copy on next-day-air USPS and already pre-ordered.

Cyantre Mar 12, 2006 10:31 AM

I played PSO on GCN a few years ago, but I lost interest in it. I was a FOmarl.

Kimchi Mar 15, 2006 03:47 AM

Lol, poor you Parn, loosing everyhing. Anyways PSU looks alright, Sega lost its Phantasy Star touch.

Exactly what kind of "stuff" are we talking about? I think I'm even going to Gamestop and EB later this week to find a decent PC controller just for this.

SuperDK Mar 16, 2006 03:51 AM

Well, I believe you can't SP PSO Ep.4, but I don't know because I never actually got to play it...=(

I played this on GC (without online because I didn't have the resources to pay for Hunters license) for about 3 years. With friends of course. And my bros. My highest HIT% item was a Dragon Slayer at 95%...it was freaking crazy. Put it on my HUnewearl and she kicks some ass with it. Though, my best character has to be my LV193 RAcast. I've got a 35% HIT Spread Needle (because now only rangers can use Spread Needle, which is a good thing, imo) and that's all I need. Shifta helps tons, but I can solo that whole game, now that I'm almost maxed out on levels. Sucks though, because I can't seem to get the 30million exp that's left to hit LV200. I think my hour total hit about 1400 offline. That's pretty crazy, especially because I'm not even playing with a lot of other people.

I also got into Ep. 3. It's not as bad as people think, but I guess you have to be some sort of card fan to actually really it. My fav characters in that game are Endu (nothing beats a good rampage attack) and Ohgun. I like the artwork in that game as well, and the music is really good. It's worth a try, but if you don't like 20-40 minute battles, then this is probably not for you. It's more like a strategy-RPG, but the random-ness of the cards makes it more like a card game, I guess.

The stuffs are the err game client and cheat program if you are intrested to cheat. Or just become ledgedary by playing 100% legitly, but no one really cares if you cheat or not, so it is up to you.

Lady Miyomi Mar 16, 2006 11:55 AM

I want to play 100% legit, but I can't afford what they're asking...any way I can circumvent this?

Kimchi Mar 16, 2006 12:11 PM

On the private? Sure you can play 100% legit, but most of the players uses hacked items. But hell, you can just go to legit server.

Lady Miyomi Mar 16, 2006 12:35 PM

But playing it on the computer is going to cost, that's what they said. I don't mind using hacked items, but I don't want to level up to some obscure level. That's no fun. :(

WHAT? Pay to play on psocheats.net? You serious? If they are, they are prob doing it because Sega is targeting them at the moment I think.

Lady Miyomi Mar 16, 2006 10:04 PM

No no no, I meant if I tried to play the game myself without going through psocheats.net, they want to charge me after the two-week trial. I haven't heard anything about being charged through psocheats.net. I still don't know how to use it to play PSO. Does it work for PSO Blue Burst as well? I have the demo PSO and PSO Blue Burst on my computer right now.

Kimchi Mar 17, 2006 08:25 PM

On psocheats, net you can get epi I & II. (Install the game and it will link you to their server,) and for BB, I am not sure. All i know is that when PSU comes out, they will host it which is really good news.

Lady Miyomi Mar 17, 2006 08:34 PM

I was just over there and I saw no such thing.

Kimchi Mar 17, 2006 08:54 PM

Under download section?

Download--> PSO Files---> PSO For PC ---> PSO PC

EDIT: And I am re-dling the file -.- so beat that.

Lady Miyomi Mar 17, 2006 09:23 PM

I can't...omg, I can't read anymore... :(

Can I play offline as well with this (it's downloading now)?

Kimchi Mar 17, 2006 09:24 PM

Hell yes it can play offline too. (Done installing, and got back my 200+ lvl.)

Lady Miyomi Mar 17, 2006 09:33 PM

Thanks for the info, sir! :D

Kimchi Mar 19, 2006 05:50 PM

Oh shit, I forgot to tell you that the game you downloaded is hacked version. Which lets you go through doors, walls, hills, ect. Walk over lava, air ect.

Duplicate meso and items by simply depositing them.

If you deposite Meso, even you take the maximiun out, it won't decrease. And if you put ANY item in, it will dup itself to 99.

NOTE: ONLY ONE ITEMS CAN BE TAKEN OUT FROM THE BANK UNLESS YUOU MULTI DEPOSITE!!!!!

Lady Miyomi Mar 19, 2006 05:53 PM

HAHAHAHA!!! I discovered that this morning. I was running around in the town and ran out into space and crap. I was like, "...the hell is going on???" and then I started laughing. I already died because I'm having a hard time playing with the keyboard so I won't be online for a bit. Oh, my character's name is the same name is me.

Darkk Child Mar 19, 2006 10:55 PM

I'd play if I knew anything about the game ^_^

Lady Miyomi Mar 20, 2006 01:22 AM

Well, you've heard me talk about it over and over...

...and over and over...

Besides, talking about it and playing it are two different things. And to make matters worse for you, your computer might crap out the first time you try to run the game.

If PSO is as fun as you make it out to be, I may try it out too

Lady Miyomi Mar 20, 2006 01:44 AM

Yes, it is a lot of fun. I've been obssessed with it after all these years since having to give him my Dreamcast. :(

Kimchi Mar 20, 2006 07:10 PM

Lol, if any of you find it instresting go to psocheats.net (regieter)

Just look out for a post what was posted by me earier.

Dyne Mar 24, 2006 01:19 PM

I'm playing this game on the GC unofficial servers!

Is anyone else playing on the unofficial Schtack server? I am. If you're interested, I can link you to it. It works for Gamecube and PC.

I'm currently getting my FO to level 200 before PSU comes out.

Kimchi Mar 24, 2006 07:06 PM

Dude, psocheats.net already has been posted, they even got link for that server.

Para Mar 24, 2006 07:33 PM

I still play PSO

Well I play on PSO:BB JP version.

Level 176 RAmarl.

Fyi...

BROOMOP should really give credit for some of his works... PSOCHEATS really came alive when I got online with the full version of PSOPC which broomop was so surprised and kept asking me how I did it (myria chan helped me and together went online)

You helped make PSOPC or you made it better?

BIGWORM Mar 25, 2006 12:48 AM

Along with Shenmue, I used to be enthrawled with this game on Dreamcast to no end. I purchased and played the shit out of both v1 and v2. I think I had a Lvl 180 RAmar last time I checked. I only got into the RA class for their pistol abilities. I dabbed into the HU class everyone once in a while, but that was rare. I was on PSO:BB for the beta, and I paid for a couple of months afterwards, but lost interest when Episode IV (I believe) came out. I may need to get back into this game...yet again.

Lady Miyomi Mar 25, 2006 12:50 AM

I, myself, prefer the Version 1 only because I feel the need to play it to death again. After that, I might move onto Verison 2.

BIGWORM Mar 25, 2006 12:52 AM

I almost got a Dreamcast BBA just for PSO. =/

Kimchi Mar 25, 2006 08:22 AM

What do you mean by "almost"?...

Winter Storm Mar 25, 2006 08:34 AM

No I do not play this anymore. I made several "returns from the grave" with my 171 FOne but after 5 years it was time to lay my Kabanda to a final rest. I played on a private server hosted by a nice guy who wanted all versions of PSO(except for xbox and epIII - his server can't support them)to live on and never die out. The community was 10x better than the community on the sega servers, and cheaters and legits actually coexisted much more too(scary I know, but it was a nice change for me since I've been through it all.). Eh I dont even visit PSO forums anymore.

Little to no chance that I will buy PSU, as the support system will not be the same in that game.

And for the record, my FOne and my Hune will remain on my memory card until it reachs the end of it's life cycle. ;)

Tortalius Mar 25, 2006 12:24 PM

I played BB for a week during a free trial. The game didn't seem that amazing to me.

Kimchi Mar 25, 2006 02:52 PM

BB sucked, and oh you like RO or something? (because of your avatar >.>)

Lady Miyomi Mar 26, 2006 12:38 AM

I haven't played BB yet, but I have the download. From what you guys are saying about it, it's not worth installing it, is it?

Dyne Mar 26, 2006 04:36 AM

Nobody I know likes BB.

I kind of want to try it, just for the heck of it.

The BB community is not very friendly. That's the best way I can put it for you.

Lady Miyomi Mar 26, 2006 08:29 PM

Do they gang up on new people or something? *uninstalls*

Winter Storm Mar 27, 2006 03:30 AM

No, they are just generally unfriendly and way too serious. BB is composed of the hardcore legit players who had to endure the pains of being stuck on the GC version. Given the GC's horrible history with the FSOD outbreak, I can't really blame thier present attitude. The game itself however works like this:

-There are newer rare weapons/armor.
-You lose exp when you die, but you will not delevel.
-There is an episode IV
-There is no offline mode.
-There is no dressing room.
-You can "macro" things in the number keys(not on the number pad). Making BB's interface far superior to any version.

-Traditionally with the previous versions you can gain access to the new levels by completing them in offline mode via the monolifhs. Due to there being no offline mode, the only way to gain access and be able to host games with more levels is to undertake government quests. Broken up into segments similar to FFXI's mission system. Forest 1-3, 2-3, 3-1, etc and so forth for all the levels. With Caves anything the hardest to get help for cause well..it's caves.

-The level you need to access the difficulties have been raised; hard mode is level 40, very hard is level 80..Ultimate is level 100. I could be way off with hard mode and VH, but ultimate is definitly 100.

Kimchi Mar 27, 2006 03:46 PM

Wasn't untimate 100 too on epi 1 and 2?

Kesubei Mar 27, 2006 07:51 PM

Excluding BB, I`ve played all versions of PSO, but offline only. I never had the chance to play online, which is still very sad to me. I was usually a FOnewearl or a FOmarl.

I WILL be playing PSU online when it finally gets released, however.

To you folks who have played online: Is there any RPing?

No, to get into Ult on GC and version 2, you needed level 80(on version 2 it made a lot more sense to go at level 100).

Kimchi Mar 29, 2006 06:50 PM

Hmm it is fun being lvl 1321214. And appearently some sick pervert on psocheats.net made nude mode.

DRAKO Apr 1, 2006 12:12 AM

sorry for the noob question , but pso plays like monster hunter...
i mean, you enter in some room, you look for some friends, accept a mission and there you are, killing something...?

and it seems the level system is something like in champion of nosrath?
you need certain player´s level for playing in certain difficulty´s level ?

nah..i only i will not have to pay like in ff11 for playing psu...

Kimchi Apr 1, 2006 08:31 AM

You don't have to pay. There is private server, go there and regiester, then download thing under download section. Install the game, you are all set. BTW the client is hacked which means you can go through walls, walk over lavas, space, ect. Not to mention anything you deposite into your bank is duped to x99.(not money)

DRAKO Apr 1, 2006 09:00 AM

ROLLZ..
then , where it is the challenge???!!??

Winter Storm Apr 1, 2006 11:09 AM

^Episode II on ultimate and have an ATA rating below 150(240).

Kenichi Apr 1, 2006 01:09 PM

I have BB and I like it. But then again, I never played the GC or Xbox versions. I practically worshipped PSOv1 and v2 on DC, and I always wanted to play Ep2 but didn't have an Xbox or a GC ethernet adapter, so BB was my chance to try it out. I'll agree that there are a few too many "hardcore" players. It's hard to find someone to level up with because they all do the same quest over and over to lvl up faster, and the ppl over lvl 90 won't give you the time of day because they're too busy rare-hunting. You can join teams (this game's equivalent of guilds), and it's not as bad that way, you can meet nice people, but you still have the same problem of finding someone to play with, unless you're over lvl 90.

I'm lvl 70, but I'm thinking of quitting. Sometimes I have a sudden urge to play it so I do, but often I go months without playing it again. I kinda want to try World Of Warcraft, so I may cancel my PSO subscription. But then again, once PSU comes out, I'll be cancelling my WoW subscription. ;)

Kimchi Apr 1, 2006 02:52 PM

Why play PSU on official server when you can play it for free on private servers?

PSU? You mean PSO, right? PSU isn't even out yet.

I play PSO on the official servers because....well, the private servers just suck ass. It's full people who either can't speak english, or people you WISH wouldn't speak english (total assholes in other words). I made a character on Schthack's private server, entered the game, and when I died one of the guys stole my handgun and money, then left and everyone was laughing at me. I left the game, and joined another called "normal lvling" and thought that sounded promising....but it was just a guy duping items for people. I waited 10 minutes hoping they would get done but it just turned into a begging contest. "LOL CAN U MAKE ME A HEAVENS PUNISHER PLZ KTHX". I joined another room, same exact thing. So I gave up and got PSO:BB. At least there's less assholes on PSO:BB, and pretty much no hacking (except for the few people who have the balls to do it under Sonic Team's nose).

Winter Storm Apr 1, 2006 05:25 PM

I think someone here can't wait for PSU like the rest of us. ;)

Schthack sucks. And there is english only servers. And they will release PSU when it comes out. And err... if PSO:BB was for console, sega would let them hack since they let me and my friends hack on Xbox/GC version. And I am pretty sure Sega DOES let people hack on BB.

Hyuga Jehuty Apr 2, 2006 11:58 AM

I didn't realize that BB was hated, but I only played during the free beta. That was my first encounter with PSO, and at first it was just ok to me. But eventually, it grew on me, and I managed to play around 110 hours before the beta ended, with a level 60 something Humar. It was great.

I later bought the Plus version on GCN. Not as great as it was playing online, since the multiplayer split screen sorta sucks because you can't do any quests at all in it.

Nope, hackers get banned. If someone has reason to believe someone is hacking and has the logs to prove it, you can send it to one of the mods on the PSOBB forums and they turn it into ST to get them banned. Sometimes it takes awhile, but that's how the game stays clean. Hacking has been kept to a minimum. There's still people running around with dupes, but all the major hackers are gone.

Also, there won't be any private servers for PSU for awhile, Sega will shut them down. That's why there aren't any private servers for PSO:BB yet, because Sega is still fully supporting the game, more so than the console versions. So I'd say we'd have to wait a good 3 or 4 years till we see any private servers popping up for PSU, unless you mean private, as in between friends.

Kimchi Apr 2, 2006 01:27 PM

Let's run down. It only took couple months to see hundreds of WoW (Dude it is WoW, WAY bigger then PSO:BB), and same concpet for Ragnarok Online. SO I am guessing PSU won't take long at all. (3~4 years on game to be private? Yea right.)

The reason WoW servers were up so fast is BECAUSE it was that big. There were tons of people trying to crack it and get servers up.

Of course, you also failed to mention that WoW servers are broken pieces of garbage that don't stack up to the officials. The only reason RO servers are stable is because the official software was leaked. Same with Lineage 2.

Kimchi Apr 2, 2006 03:10 PM

Your info about Ro is wrong. Not leaked. Hacked.

Of course, PSU will be a lot different comparing WoW. I am pretty confident(Don't ask why, I am just am) that it won't get trashed by Sega.

PS: Your avatar is fucking annoying to watch. Fuck your avatar.

Lady Miyomi Apr 3, 2006 09:43 PM

I wonder if I'll be able to get my hands on PSU. I'm pretty wary of PSO~BB after listening to you guys talk about it. I think I'll stay away from it. *deletes it*

???

What's wrong with PSO:BB again? As far as I've read from the thread (unless Im blind or something) there hasn't been much talk about PSO:BB

Note: PSO:PC IS NOT PSO:BB

Winter Storm Apr 4, 2006 03:45 PM

I suppose you'll say that the BB community is the opposite of the way I have described. Which is what you missed.

To be perfectly honest though I only played it for 3 days and that was during beta. ALL it took though was 3 days and one foul up from a player for me to jet. All the rest is a complilation of complaints found throughout PSO boards.

Oh you will get PSU alright... I am pretty sure Sega will sell them at stores... but maybe not since they didn't do it for BB i think. (And BB is boring after awhile. P2P for PSO? No thanks, I wouldn't mind paying for RO,Lineage2,WoW,RO2)

Lady Miyomi Apr 4, 2006 06:35 PM

It's only coming out for XBox 360 or something? I don't quite remember. At any rate, I don't have anything about a modded PSX. :(

Para Apr 4, 2006 06:39 PM

PSU is for PS2 and PC. Rumours swirl around the Xbox 360 release but its just rumours for now.

PSO:BB communities vary... I play on the Japanese Servers so I don't have to face the US:BB community :)

Lady Miyomi Apr 4, 2006 06:43 PM

Oh so it will be on PC? Oh good! When is it coming out? I'm sorry, but I haven't had the time lately to find out. :(

Kimchi Apr 4, 2006 07:14 PM

Rumors: 3 months.

Miles Apr 5, 2006 06:29 AM

PSU is finally going into closed beta mode in Japan pretty soon. They also won't accept your application unless you live in Japan, though I'm sure there are ways to get around that. Don't expect US PSU until sometime between 10/06 - 12/06. I heard they'll have more of the game playable in English at E3 this year for those lucky enough to be able to go.

Kimchi Apr 5, 2006 12:38 PM

Nah, lots of people played PSO:BB beat even thought it was only for Jap. (You can play Japanese games since they don't need things like SSN unlike Korean MMORPG which you need KSSN.)

If they block out any IP outside of Jap then just get Jap IP.

Lede Apr 16, 2006 04:54 PM

Ok, some of you need to drop your fucking PSO:BB bias, because it really isn't that bad.

Yes, there are some bad apples among the community, as well as tards who loot rares useless to them and leave the game, but where WON'T you find those? Most of the community is indeed "less intelligent", but that's to be expected from almost ANY MMO. Those that truly become "leet" are actually pretty cool. (And like helping people who deserve it) Don't tell me I don't know what I'm talking about, I've been playing PSO:BB since the beginning of Beta. I know how bad it can be, and it could be a WHOLE lot worse (see DC/GC).

Screw private servers. You wanna play PSO online? PSO:BB is your best bet. Not only do you NOT have to mess with some hacker's server, but you don't EVER have to deal with hackers at all, as Sega is actually doing something about them in this incarnation.

Episode IV alone is worth the price of admission. Not only do you get some awesome PSIII arrangements, but a whole new area to mess around in based on the original story for PSO. (At first it was nothing like what Ver.1 was, but it involved a meteor striking a planet....)

Plus, you could play with me if you played PSO:BB instead. ;_;

Kimchi Apr 16, 2006 05:22 PM

I heard that PSU closed beta started or something. I doupt it since it is merely a romour floating around the web =/ (Let's hope though.)

I still have PSO~BB on my computer. I thought I deleted it, but I didn't. What's your name on there? Maybe I'll play it when school lets out.

Lede Apr 22, 2006 12:44 AM

Let's see...

Nylia - Level 2x HUnewearl

Seiren - Level 66 RAcaseal

Waha-chan - Level 67 FOnewearl

My other character is a friend's character, so it's not included. I haven't been on as much lately, though, other games are pulling my interest.

But yeah, sure, I'll play a bit with you.

reflectiVe May 1, 2006 08:15 PM

Played every version of PSo and still loved it. Definately want to get my hands on PSU. Anyways if anyone wants to look at PSO:BB I'm going to be honest you're not missing anything but episode 4. There are a lot of whining children & people you're just not going to like. If you find a team, you should stick with them. I quit BB, but still had fun.

I'm Rue on the BB boards if anyone wants to know. :)

Lady Miyomi May 1, 2006 08:43 PM

So, with all the negative feedback I'm hearing on PSO~BB, should I just play it alone? I can't wait until finals are done with so I can play.

Kimchi May 2, 2006 02:34 AM

Just do some research and play PSU Beta. I am pretty sure it still has open slots.

Taegueki, do you have broommop's current addy? The one you posted doesn't work anymore. I'm trying to get back into pso - hopefully on private servers since psox and DC are DEAD.

Kimchi Jul 25, 2006 06:05 PM

Yea, I do have the latest version that works perfectly fine. I just need to find it when I get back to home since I am away from my PC.

Someone post this if possible since I can't post it for a while.

Peace.

None?

The server with the least bs and assholes is probably the JP server for PSO:BB which I play. I never had to deal with any impoliteness or rudeness from any player (except some of the english players who used to play on PSO:BB JP).

Arc Impulse Jul 31, 2006 11:59 PM

As nice as that sounds, that would be impossible since my comprehension of Japanese is nil.

My japanese sucks ass too but after playing PSO after so many revisions... you get an idea what to do without needing too much of the language.

a whole lot of people given out the hacked ver of pso pc what is wrong with the ported ver its just like the DC ver not hacked great to play and free to play on scthack . there are good people on there you just have to look if you want to play.to much cheating spoils the game . i have set of hacked needles i use when thers no one about and am happy to go normal weps in company. just a side note have a look hear http://z7.invisionfree.com/PSO_SERVE...ex.php?act=idx

Kairi Li Mar 2, 2008 08:36 AM

I know I'm bumping a really, REALLY old topic, but does anyone here play PSO BB on the private servers? With the BB servers going down, seems like that's where everyone is going to so they can keep on playing. And its totally free.

SCHTHACK Phantasy Star Online - A Private Server

My fiance and I decided to get it to play together today, cause I googled it recently and found that the game and servers are absolutly free. He played PSO alot back in the day, having high level characters with sweet gear in both the GC and DC version. He's joining me so I can experience this game for real, and nostagia's sake.

I however never really got to experience PSO fully, when I tried, my sister insisted that I stick with Ranger and not be a Hune cause they are weak in defense and stuff. She was kinda pushy about it which sour my experience. Playing split screen with her wasn't fun due to the screen size, and the boring part of gunning in PSO didn't make it better, while my sister was nuking things with her Fone... After getting up to lvl 3 I just gave up on it.

Then I got PSU with my fiance which had a much smoother combat system, and despite the horrible launch and hiccups the game had, when AoI came out it became alot more fun and casual friendly. But seeing as the MAX G event is coming soon, which has all the PSO stuff coming, I realise if I was to fully experience the nostalgic aspects, I should actually play beyond the 3 lvls I gained and the Forest areas.

So, does anyone here play on the private servers? Maybe we can party together sometime. Could use some help leveling and if you can spare some gear or two that you don't want, that would be nice, since me and my fiance are now newb level...

This is my character.

PSO is an awesome experience and I definitely encourage you to play it out Kairi.

I've spent some of my favourite moments in PSOBB. Make sure you check out Subterranean Desert, my favourite area <3

Kairi Li Mar 3, 2008 12:44 AM

Are you playing on the private servers Para? If so, it would be nice if we can play together or something.

Manny Biggz Mar 3, 2008 12:48 AM

I never played BB, but Episode I and II are among the best times I ever had in an online game to date. (next to Fung Wan Online) I'll consider joining you guys in that since the PSU expansion runs like ass on my laptop.

Sousuke Mar 3, 2008 12:58 AM

I used to love playing BB, and then it went pay-to-play. ):

I've played around a bit on the private servers, but I didn't get very far due to a bad computer crash, and having to reformat. I've been meaning to pick it up again, though. Maybe I'll do that now. :3

Manny Biggz Mar 3, 2008 01:04 AM

I got my buddy (Gal Radical, Raine Terre from PSU) to download this with me. I'm looking forward to this. Never played Blue Burst, and I always get these random urges to fight Olga Flow. I have no idea why, but he's one of my favorite boss fights ever.

Lukage Mar 3, 2008 04:42 AM

I had a copy, but never got SCHTHACK to work, but I might give it a whirl some time in the future.

Sousuke Mar 3, 2008 06:59 AM

Downloaded and installed, only to find that my account had been purged due to inactivity. :/ So I opened up a new one, and played for a little bit. SCHTHACK definitely fixed a lot of things since the last time I played... It seems like now you can actually do the story missions. Before, I don't think you were able to.

Anyway, I started through the first mission, and it's a lot harder than I remember. Maybe I've just got the wrong one. I'm a level 3 Hunearl or whatever it's called. The male hunter.

Ignore the instructions on the site and go to their BB forum stickied thread for complete instructions. To make things easier, get the JP EN patch that lets you see JP only items, and get the new Online EXE from a seperate stickied thread. The patch somehow lets you bypass doing all the IP stuff, and the new Online EXE is noob friendly.

Or to make things even easier, just use the installer other members have made here.

Pso Server Home -> Connection for PSOBB REVISED

And yes, like Sega, if there's inactivity in your account for 3 months, they will purge it. So login once in a while if you wanna keep it safe.

DarkMageOzzie Mar 3, 2008 02:51 PM

I'd get involved, but I got too many games on my plate as it is and I've restarted from scratch in PSO too many times to want to do it again.

Manny Biggz Mar 3, 2008 04:41 PM

I recreated my original character from when I started PSO.

Name: Lenneth
Race/Class: Hunewearl
Level: 4

I'll jump on tonight at work.

SuperDK Mar 3, 2008 04:50 PM

Whoa, people are actually playing this on schthack? I played this (on schthack) all summer last year, so I have a level 140 (?) RAcast. Yeah, if you guys want to play or something, I'd be willing to join in.

I need to start playing episode 2 again, I don't think I've ever played it since the GC days. I've never played PSODC/GC online either, so...yeah. :eagletear:

My character's name is Robo. Yup, original. <3 CT.
I don't know the current servers, but I usually played on Arcadia. I'm guessing its Horizon now, but I'm not sure.

Yamigarasu Mar 3, 2008 04:51 PM

Lv 180 HUmar here on scht, but I gave up a while ago to play PSU.

Hah, I made a RAcast Robo back in Ver. 1 on DC. I used a Heaven Punisher and used to scream out "Laser Spin" when the special attack's time was in effect. Originality is overrated. :P

Horizon is usually the most packed server, so I'll be sticking around there. I'll be on at about 9 P.M EST.

Kairi Li Mar 3, 2008 05:50 PM

Guys, if you haven't logged in for 3 monthes, chances are your character is long gone. So be prepared.

I'll try to see if I can find any of you when I am back from work. You can contact my MSN on my profile if you like. My character details and guildcard number are on the above post.

Sousuke Mar 3, 2008 05:55 PM

I'm level 5 now, but I'm considering restarting so I can make a Hucast instead. I'm not sure yet. In any case, my current character is Yggdrasill.

Quick question though. I remember there being some kind of 'intro' quest, where you met up with a Hucast with a scythe in one of the first areas of Forest 1. Is that still around? I can't seem to find out how to get that one.

Para Mar 3, 2008 06:27 PM
