You've been to Sri Lanka? WTF?

So, this is basic. This might be incredibly easy for some and very hard for others. Name every fucking place in the world you`ve been to. If you took a quick piss in Texas after passing a few steps past the Arizona border, then Texas counts. If a flight you took to Alaska had to make a stop in Oregon, then Oregon counts. Everything you wacky bastards. At the very least put the country and state/department/province of the country. Cities are completely optional.

So I was born in Guatemala. In the department of Guatemala. Since coming back I`ve also been in the departments of Alta Verapas and Baja Verapas.

I made a quick stop to Tijuana Mexico when I was 12. Not sure what state of Mexico that lies in... Or maybe that is the state. Fuck if I know. Ask Encephalon.

In the States all over California. Took a Grey Hound bus to Florida from California and passed all the southern states. Southern as in the ones touching Mexico and the Gulf Coast... Such as Arizona, Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, and Florida. May have missed one. Not sure. May have, at one time or another, poked into Utah. I hope not. And of course, Nevada. Arizona was the state I was officially last in.

That about covers it for me.

Edit - Forgot to mention the half hour layover in Honduras before getting dumped here in Guatemala.

PiccoloNamek Sep 7, 2006 12:56 PM

Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee. And that's it. I can barely afford to leave my home state, let alone the country.

:(

Kamui Sep 7, 2006 01:05 PM

Hmm hmm....

Let's see... I've been in the United States for quite a while now and that includes Texas, California, Washington D.C mostly.

Europe wise, a couple of places in France, England for a family vacation and Germany to meet up with some unknown relatives...

Pretty much covers it :)

Sol Sep 7, 2006 01:27 PM

Most of my life has been spent in California, but family vacations have taken me through most of the westernmost states.

We traveled through Nevada and Utah to visit friends in Colorado for a few days. Since they live near Colorado Springs we took a day to walk around the Air Force Academy because their son was attending. It was huge, but mostly open ground from what I remember. I think we were technically in New Mexico for a few minutes during that trip, but I don't know for certain.

Once went straight to Las Vegas for two days, which was boring as hell because I was fourteen. Thank God for arcades.

Flew to Hawaii for two weeks with my mother, sister, and grandma. Ran out of things to go about eight days into the vacation, so I spent most of the time swimming and got an ear infection two days before the flight out. It's a good thing my grandma knew a doctor there since she had a condo and lived there once in a while.

Traveled to Arizona to see Meteor Crater once, regretted that my father didn't take enough pictures while we were there. Also stopped by the Grand Canyon, which was equally as cool. I was stunned when we traveled through a forest to reach it. My thoughts of Arizona was nothing but flat desert.

Have driven and flown to Washington state numerous times, thus going through northern Cali and Oregon only so far as the highways went. Nothing too impressive except for endless trees and mountains. There are noticably more porno shops with large signs by the highway in Oregon, though. Go figure.

Since we moved to Washinton, whenever my friends come up we go to Vancouver, BC and hit up bars since half of my crew isn't of legal age here. I never understand what they find so attractive about downtown bars. I'd be cheaper and much more fun to get wasted on liquor here and party all night long rather than stay kinda sober for the drive back.

That's all I got. Right now I'm too mired in self-inflicted poverty to travel much. Gotta save money to get back to California and my friends, and housing isn't getting cheaper.

I poked it and it made a sad sound Sep 7, 2006 01:42 PM

O man. I am not a big US traveller - in fact, I go to mostly the same places always, but here goes:

Massachusetts (live here ^_^)
Vermont
New Hampshire
Maine
Connecticut
New York
Rhode Island
New Jersey
Pennsylvania
Delaware
Maryland
North Carolina
Virginia
West Virginia
Arizona
Nevada
Washington DC

Canada which includes:
Toronto
Montreal
Quebec
Niagara Falls

France (Normandy, Paris, the like)

Yea, so what. ;_;

Baja California Norte. It's where they have the Baja 1000.

As for places I've been... Damn...

Well. I was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. I often visited Tepatitlan, Jalisco, Mexico as a kid which is a nice little city where my family is from. I've pretty much driven through the upper half of Mexico on my way to visit Mexico. One trip I drove through Sonora, Sinaloa, Nayarit and to Jalisco on another drive I went through Coahuila, Zacatecas, Aguascalientes and to Jalisco. I'm going back to Tepa in April to party with the family; something I haven't done since 1994. I've apparently also been to Michoacán but I was probably too young to remember.

Here in the states I used to live in Medford, OR and I used to drive up to Seattle at least once a month. It's such a beautiful city. <3

Just this winter I flew out to Minesnowtta and drove all the way back to California. You can read all about it in my journal here and here. I almost died on that trip too, but none of you fucks care. I went to NYC when I was in high school and I've been wanting to go back since. I was in Tampa, Florida for the NHL Championship in 2004 to watch the Tampa Bay Lightnign win the Stanley Cup; something which I doubt they'll do again in my lifetime.

Cali though... It's my home so I guess I won't be leaving here. I really don't like it here in the Central Valley much but I LOVE to go to SoCal all the time. I practically live in Torrance at my best friend's place where he has a bar. I have a ton of friends who I went to college with who now attend U.C.S.B. and, needless to say, I'm down there partying it up with them any chance I get. I'm supposed to go down there for Halloween again this year and I even got my zoot suit ready to rock. About once every couple of months I drive to Pismo Beach just to have a bowl of clam chowder at Splash and chill out at the pier. I'm there for like 3 hours and drive back. I wanna live there~

sabbey Sep 7, 2006 01:53 PM

I haven't been anywhere but around Northern California, the Bay Area in particular and occasionally to Reno, Nevada the past few years...

Not big on traveling, but would like to explore California a little before I am too old to do so! ;)

Sal Sep 7, 2006 02:02 PM

Scotland - it's only a couple of hours up the road
France - Paris once, driven through the rest of the time
Germany - had a day in Nuremberg
Austria - driven through it to avoid German border I think. May have been asleep.
Switzerland - driven through it four times oddly never in daylight. Seemed nice though.
Belgium - it's the bit you drive through to get to Germany
Luxembourg - see above
Italy - stayed in Fuiggi, went to Rome, Pompei, Sorento & Capri (Mafia country)
Vatican City - in Easter. Busy.
Czech Republic - Brno & Prague twice.

Forgot Spain & Denmark.

Secret Squirrel Sep 7, 2006 02:05 PM

Like Mr Squirrel, I haven't travelled half as much as i'd have wanted, but sure there's plenty of time yet;

I travel loads within Ireland, its so small that everywheres not even a day away from whatever point in the country you may be, its very handy for one of those let's go on a trip and have no idea where your going

Outside of Ireland;

England-I love the place, I went most recently to see a gig and it remains the ONLY place a random person on the street said "bless you" when I sneezed.

Scotland-Those moors put the fright up me something fierce, nice place

Spain-Was at a tourist place so not a fan

New York-I was staying out near Poughkeepsie and commuted to the city, man I could never live there, its totally huge and impersonal, I liked outside the city though

Buizel Sep 7, 2006 04:03 PM

I was born in Philippines and now live in the US. So..

Philippines - Born
Japan - Flight stop
California - Flight stop
Rhode Island - Resident

...yet I never visit my "home" country in Cambodia.

nazpyro Sep 7, 2006 04:31 PM

I'd say I've done a lot of traveling, but usually to the same places. Here goes:

U.S. States
-----------
California - Born in Daly City. Been here for a couple weeks just about every other year since the early 90s. Been to other areas near San Francisco. Also been to places in Southern Cal: Los Angeles, San Diego, etc.
Maryland - Where I live and work now.
DC - I live in a suburb of it.
Virginia - It's so near. But for traveling, I've been to Williamsburg many, many times in my life: almost every summer.
West Virginia - Been here for some snowboarding/water rafting/skiing/camping.
Pennsylavnia.
Delaware.
Illinois.
Ohio.
Indiana.
New York - Some friends up here.
Massachusetts - Been to Cape Cod a couple times, as well as Boston.
New Jersey - Friends here too.
Rhode Island - A few times.
Connecticut.
Texas - I've stopped by Dallas-Forth Worth Airport so many times. :p I've been to Austin for a week. Also, my job is headquartered in Dallas.
North Carolina.
South Carolina.
Georgia.
Florida - Been here every three years since my freshman year of high school for band competitions (and to "support" my old band)/visit Disney World and Universal Studios for cheap. :D
Nevada - Las Vegas, yo.
Hawaii - Stopover.

Canada
--------
Toronto/Quebec/Montreal.

Japan - Stopover.
Hong Kong - Stopover.

Philippines - My motherland.
------
Manila - My mom is from a city near Manila. I can't recall the name right now though.
Cebu - And my dad is from Cebu.

New Zealand - Stopover. Definitely need to come here when I'm rich.

Australia
-----
Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast in Queensland.
Sydney in New South Wales.
There's so much more to visit in Australia I need to come back soon. R.I.P. Crocodile Hunter. ;_; Guess I'll never see you at your zoo now.

So I've never been to Europe, South America, Central America, the Carribean, Africa, and many parts of Asia. And I've never really been in Hong Kong/China/Japan other than a stopover, so I definitely wanna go do more some time.

gidget Sep 7, 2006 06:27 PM

I live in SoCal, so I've been to many different places around here. Mountains/desert/beach (obviously). I haven't gone to many places in Central/Northern California, though.

I drove up to Washington with my family when I was 9, so we passed through Oregon on the way.

Vegas (twice) when I was younger to stay with my dad's cousin.

We drove to Texas when I was little, but I'm not sure of all the states that we passed through. I flew to Texas when I was 13 and I had a stop in Arizona on the way.

And...yeah, that's about it.

Ryuu Sep 7, 2006 06:50 PM

Quote:

I'm pretty sure that's not possible...no matter how you look at it.

Anyways, most of the places I've been to I've lived in. My dad was in the military for the early part of my life which explains why.

Anyways, in the United States I've been to a good lot of states on the east coast: Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.

Yeah, a good majority. Some I've lived in, others I've passed through. I've been in Illinois, but that was just a stop-over at the Chicago airport.

As for out of the country: Japan and South Korea. Period. Japan was a stop-over for every time I've been to Korea, so I've never got an actual chance to go out of the airport in Japan. Now South Korea I had lived in and travelled around for years (especially when I was younger). I haven't been in a couple of years though.

Such a Lust for Revenge! Sep 7, 2006 07:38 PM

Hey man, why not? I want to know specifically why.

UltimaIchijouji Sep 7, 2006 07:40 PM

Japan in February, and going back again in July. Went to the Bahamas when I was too young to remember, and Canada for a family reunion a while back. When I was small I lived in California for about half a year. I know I've been to Florida as well. Washington with my grandmother and her church. New Jersey, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Maine are pretty obvious since they're right close by. But really, thats all I can remember.

Radez Sep 7, 2006 07:56 PM

My father was in the military so after being born in New Jersey, I wound up living in West Virginia, Virginia, Maine. Then 3.5 years in Yokosuka, Japan. Then when we returned, we had to move to San Diego. We flew in on the east coast, visited family and then drove across country. I think we went down to Alabama, and then west. I know we hit Tennessee and Texas, and Arizona before arriving in CA. Obviously the states in between. Then we moved to WA, so we took another road trip through Nevada, and Oregon. At some point, I think when flying to Japan, we had a layover in Alaska. Never left the gate but it was neat. From WA we moved back to NJ, and so we drove through the badlands, the dakotas, Indiana, Ohio, PA, and NJ. And most recently, Taking Greyhound through Vermont and CT up to Montreal in Canada.

Sultanate of Brunei (right beside Miri, just a few hours' drive)
----------------

Singapore (university studies)
----------------

China
----------------
- Beijing (vacationing there for the third time in a few weeks)
- Xi'an

Australia
----------------
- Melbourne (awesome place)

Rakka Sep 7, 2006 09:29 PM

I'm amazed at the places most of you people have been...I feel so poorly-traveled. Reading this thread makes me want to walk to the Greyhound station and buy a ticket to San Francisco, or out into the wilderness away from everyone and everything, or SOMETHING!

Most of my travels so far have been parental vacations...and my parents have a knack for traveling to BORING places!

Iowa (no surprise!)
Illinois (also not much of a surprise...until I went to college, I lived about ten minutes away from the I-74 bridge to Moline.)
Wisconsin (very boring.)
Michigan (even from the highway, Detroit is amazingly depressing to drive through...my dad wandered around the Ford Museum for half a day, too!)
South Dakota (The Badlands are amazingly eerie, even with all of the tourists walking around.)
Missouri (drove through, but at least I saw the Gateway Arch...from a few miles away.)
Arkansas (only thing I remember from here is Crater of Diamonds...didn't find any diamonds, though I did find a couple of really pretty crystals!)
Texas (one of my sisters lives there...all I remember is running around on the beach in Corpus Christi.)
Alabama (Space Camp!)
Tennessee (drove through on the interstate.)
Kentucky (stopped just long enough to eat once...I remember that the scenery where we drove through was REALLY pretty, though.)
Nebraska (the eastern half of the state is really empty and brown and dead.)
Indiana (where do we change time zones, exactly?)
Ohio (mostly a drive-through, but we did stop at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and overpriced Sam Goody.)
That little bit of Pennsylvania between Ohio and New York
New York (meandering from the area by Lake Erie, up to Niagara Falls, through Ontario, through upstate, to the city, and back out!)
Ontario (YES! I'm an international traveler! My dad tried to drive through downtown Toronto at noon...I don't think he'll ever cross the border again.)

Answered for me. You got an entire state between Arizona and Texas - they don't share a common border. Which would mean having to cross New Mexico, which is more than a few steps.

Now if you said Nevada, Utah, California, New Mexico, and Mexico (and maybe even Colorado), then you'd be fine.

scotty Sep 7, 2006 09:32 PM

I have visited British Columbia, and Alberta in Canada, and California along with some random states in between British Columbia and California in the US. I also visited Tiawana where smelly mexican hobos tried to sell blankets and statues of naked boys...

EDIT places I visited in the greatest place ever BC:

Port Hardy - don't remember too much, dont visit the ports too much expecially this one
Port Alberni - sprout lake is kickass,
Port Alice - small town ports are a shitty place to live
Port McNeil - rains alot, small town
Port Renfrew - Indians, and Indian garbage reside here
Zeballos - Indian town, many Indians walking around typical of most west island towns
Fair Harbour - went camping here, parked our camper on big patch of 4, 5, and even 6 leaf clovers ( the fifth and sixth leafs were half developed) oh and some indian threw water on my fire because there was a bit of plastic burning (I was 8 and indians scared me... more than now)
Campbell River - inferior to Courtenay but still decent
Black Creek - live here, awesomest village ever
Merville - inferior to Black Creek - Black Creeks arch rival
Courtenay - Do all my shopping, and other buissiness here
Comox - "little Courtenay" right next door, shitty mall thing, a marina, and old people make up the town
Nanaimo - Great mall here, biggest mall around until you reach Victoria
Ladysmith/ Parksville - alot of blues grass festivals around this area, went to one once - not bad
Coombs - last time I went here I saw a goat eating grass off of a roof, and just kept on driving
Chemainus - Lots of murals, went here to see some play called "On Golden Pond" for a school field trip
Duncan - never spent much time here except to visit my parents friends
Victoria - The capital of BC, alot of large buildings and crazy un-paralel roads that confuse the shit out of me
Vancouver - crowded, no one expected growth back in the old days, roads randomly placed everywhere, lack of directional signs. Saw Alice Cooper here, and will see Dragonforce there soon.
Kamloops - Like Spatula, this place reminds me of fruit loops, grandparents used to live here, boring place
Vernon - Grandparents also lived here, too young to remember much, I think there was a cool tunnel thing with bears carved into the side but that may be kamloops
Kelowna - boring place, nothing to say

thats about it

CryHavoc Sep 7, 2006 09:52 PM

Egypt (All over, i mean every single city/town) i'm egyptian..

Saudi Arabia (Riyadh / Jeddah / Mekka/ medina/ Khobar/Dammam/ Hayel/ Basically any big city)

Double Indemnity (1944, with Fred MacMurray, Barbara Stanwyck, and Edward G. Robinson) -- It was on the other day, and you reminded me of it when you mentioned Medford.

Spatula Sep 7, 2006 10:14 PM

Let's see here. So we count basically every place our fucking feet have touched the soil of whichever nation/state/city/municipality/hamlet/pisspoortown it would be. Alright.

CANADA - I live here, obviously.
For the cities I'll go from west to east:

Tofino, British Columbia. Nice place for pictures but bloody windy.
Port Alberni , BC. Visited some family friends.
Nanaimo, BC. I lived here for about 3 years when I was a kid. Boring place.
Ladysmith, BC. Fucking bored out of my tree in this piss poor "city"
Duncan, BC. Did some piano exams here.
Chemainus, BC. I think this is the small town with murals all around.
Victora, BC. MINIATURE WORLD FTW!!!!
Vancouver, BC (including the suburbs of Richmond, Surrey, Burnaby, Coquitlam,
Horseshoe Bay, BC). LOTS of family friends here.
Kamloops, BC. I hated this place. Fucking middle of nowhere. Sorry. Reminds me of fucking fruit loops, which isn’t a good thing.
Hope, BC. Don’t remember much.
Penticton, BC. Don’t remember much here either, visited some friends.
Barkerville,BC. I LOOOOOOOVEEEEE GOLD.

Calgary, Alberta - LOL, is this my kitchen.
Edmonton, AB. LOL west ed mall. Also lived here for like all of 7 months.
Red Deer, AB. Stopped here for something to eat. LOL.
Banff, AB. Is this Japan #2.
Jasper, AB. Fucking BEAUTIFUL place.
Medicine Hat, AB.

Winnipeg, Manitoba. My train stopped here and I walked around for three hours. Meh

Toronto, Ontario. My train also stopped here. Crazy busy ass place.

Quebec
Montreal, QC. A very interesting place. I went to the Jazz festival in 2002 I think.
Quebec City. WOW. Is this like Europe. Another beautiful place.

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA – been here quite a few times

Again from west to east:

Washington State.
Seattle, WA. I only remember something about the space needle. Never went up.
Olympia, WA. I visited here from taking a ferry service from Victoria, BC, Canada. Don’t remember too much.
Spokane, WA. I remember there’s this like ….giant light ferris wheel thing here. Of course this was when I was a little spatula at that time.

Oregon
Salem, OR. Don’t remember much, meh. Next.

California. (finally something more interesting)
Los Angeles, CA. More like Los Santos. I remembered A LOT of wide ass 12-16 lane highways and cop cars cruising and black people rapping on the streets.
Anaheim, CA. M-I-C-K-E-Y spells what.
San Francisco, CA. I like how I ran down Lombard Street full tilt and waved at Alcatraz at the same time. Good times…I liked the Sony thing…
San Diego. I LOVED the beaches and the Sea World here. Actually the Sea World was kinda boring >_>.

Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Had some family friends here.

Billings, Montana. I like how this was the very first time I visited a TARGET shopping center, LOL. I bought my first chess set here.

Houston, Texas. Sup Rockgammer, Gechmir, Lord Styphon ;__;.
Westheimer and Post Oak Boulevard. Basically that’s the intersection you should memorize to get to the Galleria, like, pretty awesome, and better looking than West Edmonton Mall IMO.

Fort-Worth, Texas. I had a stop over from a flight here. Took a piss. That’s that.

Manhattan, New York City, New York. Sup Ultima, Skate, and the rest of the gang ^__^.
Fucking amazing city (and by that, I can only speak for Manhattan, as it’s the only borough I visited out of the 5 – Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Staten Island, Queens).
I like how I learned of some of the locales of NYC by playing Deus Ex. LOL Battery Park.

AUSTRALIA
Sydney – I like the coat hanger and Opera House. Very beautiful city, especially if you take the 2 hour boat ride, highly recommended. City itself is pretty expensive though. >_>
Brisbane – family friends here. Also sup late-Mr. Irwin. ;__;

THAILAND
Bangkok – was in the airport. God damn that place seemed pretty dirty. No offense to the Thais or anything, but DAMN!, your country needs more rubbish bins or something (of course this leads to where to put the damn land fill, but that’s their problem).

MALAYSIA

Kuala Lumpur – what a smoggy and hot place man. Thank god they have milk tea and stuff. Also
Melaka – I like how I was born in some red brick building that was turned in to a museum then later demolished. LOL.
Ipoh – don’t remember much.
Johor Bahru – have a few cousins living here.
Langkawi – sex in the sea

SINGAPORE
THIS IS A [$$$FINE$$$] CITY.

HONG KONG (Before 1997) I like how I ate a egg tart here. Delicious. Sup Megaliths of the world. Stayed here for like two nights.

HONG KONG, SAR OF CHINA (After 1997) I flew in for a pit stop

SOUTH KOREA

Seoul, S Korea. Damn…so many narrow streets and alley ways man. Also TONS of churches. THE CHRISTIANS ARE COMIN’ TO GET YA!

Inchon, S Korea. Stayed at the International Airport and did nothing at all, but tired to go to sleep.

JAPAN lol the one you’ve probably been waiting for.

Tokyo, Japan. I like this city. NO, I fucking LOVE this city. I’m a city slicker type, so this place fits the bill perfectly. It doesn’t have to be expensive though…
I like how Akihabara basically steals your wallet.
Yokohama. Just more concrete jungle, really.
Nagoya. Boring place. Didn’t do much, a few underground shopping arcades and the like.
Nara. Probably the creepiest place that I’ve visited in Japan. Quite a bit tourist attraction area though. Temples here, temples there, temples everywhere.
Osaka. LOLLING Osaka. Another cool place.
Kyoto. One word. KINKAKUJI. That is all. (again, more of the temple stuff here and there).
Takarazuka, Hyogo Prefecture. I was traveling with a friend at the time and he had family friend relatives here. Nice cozy place.
Kobe. Nice water front views. ^___^

SWEDEN
Stockholm. I FUCKING SWEAR the entire airport was from Ikea. No lie, son.

Arkhangelsk Sep 7, 2006 10:23 PM

I guess I've been a few places, mostly thanks to viola/orchestra/music:

Mexico:
-Puerto Vallarta (when I was 3)
-Baja California (like, 4 times)

United States:
-Ohio
-California (born there)
-Texas (school there/here)
-Arizona
-Utah
-New Mexico (briefly)
-Colorado
-Nevada (Las VEGAS...like...8 times)
-New York (I had a stopover there, so I didn't really get to see anything :()

Italy
-went all over middle-to-northern Italy

UK
-England (mostly just London)
-Wales
-Ireland

TheKnightOfNee Sep 7, 2006 10:35 PM

I am jealous of pretty much all of you. In 21 years, I still have never left this time zone. =(

US:

Michigan (I've lived here all my life)
Ohio
Pennsylvania
New Jersey (some family lives here)
New York (passed through the state from Ontario to New Jersey. Never been to NYC)
Maryland
Washington D.C.
Virginia (during the D.C. visit)
Florida

Canada:

Ontario (I have family that lives here, and the usual hour drive across the border and then some really isn't that big of a trip)

I was in band all through high school, but because of September 11th, we had a trip canceled one year, and because of the freaking terror level being yellow around the time of our trips in future years, those were canceled too. And I've missed out on two other major trips because of broken down cars.

Sea World is pretty boring. The San Diego Wild Animal Park is (in my opinion) a bit more interesting, if you want to look at animals.

Mainly all the traveling I've done were within the US:

California - Born there, went back a few 100 times to visit relitives....
Pennsylvania - Lived there age 2 - age 8, then moved.
Ohio - Lived there age 8 - age 16, my mom devorced my dad.
Washington - Present place of residence.
Nevada - My uncle lives in Reno, so main reason why we stayed there a few days. Oh and there was the swarm of crickets at a rest stop 8D .
Maryland / Virginia - My dads from there, so we basicly took trips to the shore every few years or to visit my aunt.
Tennessee - Saw my first concert there.
Florda - Never...going...on...another...rollercoster....aga in!
South Dakota - Stayed in Deadwood for a few days...no reason...
North / South Carolina - My mom used to have friends down there...and she liked to visit Cherokee alot...

OTHER RANDOM STATES THAT WERE EITHER DRIVE THROUGHS OR OVERNIGHTERS (in no order):
West Virginia (the curse of living by the Ohio river...on the Ohio side we had to drive through the tip to go to PA...)
Indiana
Illinois
North Dakota
Texas
Kansas
Arizona
New Mexico
Utah
Colorado
Wyoming
Iowa
Idaho
Missouri
Wisconsin
Minnesota
Kentucky
Michigan

Missisppi (More or less a worong turn...)
Gegorgia
Oklahoma
Montana

I haven't traveled to any other states aside from Nevada. The only other countries I've visited were Hong Kong, the Philippines, and Taipei. I typically make a stop in either Hong Kong or Taipei for only a few hours though.

Moon Sep 8, 2006 06:23 PM

US States
Massachusetts
Conneticut
New York
New Hampshire
Vermont
Rhode Island
Maine
Pennsylvania
Maryland
New Jersey
Delaware
Virginia
Washington (the state)
Washington D.C

Other Countries
Newfoundland
Vancouver
Quebec
Iceland
Amsterdam

I believe that's it. My favorite was Iceland, becaase it was during the summer solstice and staying up all night without the sun going down was THE COOLEST experience I've had in my entire life.

And being from Wyoming, this is also a place where it's very polarized in terms of travel. Either you've had the chance to travel or you've never left the state. It's very common to travel around Wyoming if you live there because most of the time you'll have to go do things in either Casper or Cheyenne (or if one does have to go out of state, it's either to Salt Lake City, Bozeman, Billings, Rapid City, Ft. Collins, or Denver). So, travel is a necessity if you're willing enough to live in Wyoming.

As for me, I grew up with parents that like going to places. Currently we're just waiting for Christmas to come so we can take off for Orlando and do things over in Florida. I'm also saving money for my own trip to visit friends in Victoria, BC right after finals here at the University.

Where have I been?

Montana - Many many times. Father's family is native to this state
Colorado - Because Wyoming should really be annexed by this place, and Denver's my favourite place to be in the country.
Idaho
Utah
Arizona
New Mexico - Briefly. We were on our way back from Arizona and chose to go this way.
South Dakota - This place is like Wyoming once you've gone outside the Black Hills, fucking boring.
Nebraska - I hate this place. No mountains. I must have my giant sloped rocks within reasonable distance, damnit.
Iowa
Illinois - Twice. Second time was a week long trip to visit a friend that moved there right after middle school ended
Indiana
Ohio - Rock and Roll Hall of Fame FTW
West Virginia - We only drove through those very thin parts of it just for novelty's sake.
Pennsylvania - I heart Hershey and Gettysburg
Maryland - See West Virginia
Washington D.C.
Virginia - This was the first place I had ever heard of or seen grits. Disgusting things they are
North Carolina - If you're evver in Kill Devil Hills, which is the town that Kitty Hawk is near, go eat at Bob's Grill. The place's slogan is "Eat and get the hell out."
Tennessee
Kentucky
Missouri
Kansas - This place has enough sagebrush to match Wyoming

Alberta - Twice. First time I was a toddler, second time we went to Lethbridge. Hockey is so fun to watch in Canada
Nogales, Mexico - People can't parallel park for shit in this town.

Washington, Oregon, and California I've also visited, but I was so young I don't remember being there.

Future vacations I have in mind would be to visit at least one great place in each continent of the world--even Antarctica. However, the one place I want to go visit more than anywhere else is Norway so I can see where my lineage comes from.

Shit. I have an explanation for this. When I was little a friend of mine had a BUILD YOUR OWN MAP of some sort toy. I always liked geography so I looked at his finished product. He literally did build his own fucking map though because he had New Mexico above Texas, not next to it. My idea that Texas and Arizona were side to side started there. I discovered my error while looking at some maps in prison... Guess my mind put that new info aside when I made this thread.

Anyhow, to distract myself from my jackassedness, are you the same Ryuu from a few years ago that possibly started off always posting in red?

Krelian Sep 9, 2006 04:19 PM

Firstly, states in the USA I've been to...

Illinois
Wisconsin
Michigan
California
Florida
New York
Nevada
Missouri
Ohio
Colorado
Conneticut
Louisiana
Texas

Actual countries:

United Kingdom
Ireland
France
Spain
Germany
Austria
Italy
Belgium
Greece
Luxembourg
Israel
Syria
Turkey
Cyprus
Egypt
USA
Canada
Mexico
Brazil
Argentina
Uruguay
Hong Kong
New Zealand
Kingdom of Tonga

Yes, I'm very, very well-traveled. ._. When I was a kid my parents would take me on all these exotic holidays completely out of the blue. Since my parents split up, the only places outside of the UK or France I've visited are the three South American countries I listed, and that was to fly out and see her.

I'm still pissed at her for letting my old passport go through the fucking washing machine. I had all those amazing stamps in there....

Bernard Black Sep 9, 2006 04:37 PM

Well I've hardly been anywhere, let's see...

I've been to Dublin in Ireland, the Isle of Man (all over), Anstruther and Edinburgh in Scotland, Llangollen, Llandudno, Angelsy, Rhyl, Wrexham, Holyhead, Mold in Wales, Chester, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Yorkshire, the Lake District, Cambridge, Nottingham, Staffordshire, Alderly Edge (I forget where it is exactly), Birmingham, Birkenhead in England.

I've never been any further than that, and thanks to my studies I doubt I ever will >.<

No.

I joined in December of 2005, and don't recall posting in any colors aside from the default.

Sorry.

Such a Lust for Revenge! Sep 11, 2006 04:47 PM

Odd. Same exact name. Or is there a character out there with that specific spelling of the name? My experiences with the name don`t go much further than Street Fighter.

amman2003 Sep 12, 2006 02:21 AM

I have been to:

Italy
France
Switzerland
Hungary
Germany
UK
Greece
Qatar
Jordan
Cyprus
Sri Lanka

ME and SEA are in my heart. Of course Italy is richest country in the world for its worthiness of monuments and historical importance. Let alone its dominant position in the centuries.

Such a Lust for Revenge! Sep 12, 2006 09:04 AM

Hey, finally. Someone that actually has been to Sri Lanka.

Easy Sep 12, 2006 10:16 AM

Some countries I visited too long ago to remember which cities I pass through: Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and China (I remember Shanghai, Beijing and Chengdu only).

Germany: Frankfurt, Berlin, Dresden, Munich, Wurzburg
Switzerland: Zurich, Lucerne, Gimmelwald
Italy: Florence, Rome, Venice, one of the Cinque Terre, Vatican City
Norway: Oslo, Bergen
France: Paris, Bordeaux, Versailles
United States: Missouri, Florida, New York (haven't actually visited NYC, just Buffalo)

These ones I just visited their capital: Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic, Denmark, Luxumburg, United Kingdom.

I was born and live in Canada, unfortunately, I've only visited Quebec, Ontario and British Columbia.

Infernal Monkey Sep 12, 2006 10:44 AM

Hmmm.

Downunderverse
- Queensland (Used to live there, the whole state slows you down)
- New South Wales (YOU ARE HERE)
- ACT (Wow what's going on here? Not much!)
- Victoria (Yeesss Melbourne is the greatest city ever)
- South Australia (Adelaide's such a cool city, the council gives out free bread to those that live on the streets. FREE BREAD! It's like they're pigeons or something)
- Tasmania (What a lie, there's no cartoon character who spins around breaking shit here! There's just apple trees and incest lololol)

Other places, bold text
- New Zealand (Fucking beautiful place man, holy moly. Did both North and South islands, did them good. Only downside was Rotorua, ROTTEN EGG CITY 24/7)
- Fiji (On the outskirts of Suva. This was a fairly shitty holiday, we got stuck in a massive storm most of the time, sat around the resort playing Game Boy :()

Fatt Sep 12, 2006 02:35 PM

I can't remember every place off the top of my head, but I'll name a few.

Southern California - Venice Beach was my favorite locale. LA is overrated, but still a nice city.
Northern California (I separated the two, as I do believe that they are so different, the difference should be noted.) - Went for a wedding, can't exactly remember what cities we went to.
Texas - Dallas was boring. Wish I could have gone to Houston.
London, England - Wonderful city, but the punk scene wasn't as aggressive as I was told. I remember smoking hash out of a vacuum with some gutter punks squatting in an abandoned apartment building. Big props to London for their tube system.
Wales, UK - I thought it was beautiful, but my friends said it was a waste.
Holland - Celebrated family reunion of over 40 people on my Chinese/German side. Best Heinekin ever.
Germany - Been all over. Visited the House of Jagger. Loved it.
Denmark - Copenhagen is one of my favorite cities ever, but didn't get a chance to stay for long.

That is what I could squeeze out of sheer office bordem.

Vigilius Sep 12, 2006 03:24 PM

First of all, these are names you probably don't know since a lot are strange european (especially Norwegian names).
And second, I don't really remember that much of all the places I've been so I might just forget a few important city names.

Norway (home country, here's a few city names):
Oslo (grew up there)
Trondheim
Kristiansand
Akershus - Ski, Kolbotn, Drøbak, Bærum, Nittedal etc.
Hedmark - Lillehammer, Tynset, Hamar
Møre - Surnadal, Kristiansund
Fredrikstad
Sarpsborg

Sweden
Gøteborg (Gothenburg)
Ed (and another couple of borderline places)

Denmark
Copenhagen
Blåvann
Odense (H.C. Andersen's home city)

Germany
Berlin
(Sacksenhausen)

Poland
Krakow (as well as Auschwitz)

Greece
Crete (Knossos)

Cyprus

"Spain"
Mallorca (not really a visit worth mentioning)

England
London (mostly just as a stop to switch planes)

Canada (lived there for a year)
Ontario - St. Catherines, Toronto, Niagara Falls

USA
New York State (just over the border as well as New York city)

Holland
Amsterdam (don't remember much though)

That about sums it up, not much yet, but after I get my degree and a decent job I plan on visiting a few places...

Fluffykitten McGrundlepuss Sep 13, 2006 03:46 AM

I'm fucked if I'm going to list every little town I've been to so I'll stick to cities and places people might have heard of:

England
Brighton
London
Portsmouth
Southampton
Bristol
Reading
Oxford
Birmingham
Wolverhampton
Manchester

Liverpool
Wigan
Salisbury
Winchester
Cambridge

Sheffield
Kendal (Not a city but there's fuck all else in the lake district)

In fact I've been all over the country, there's very few places I've not at least passed through or near enough.

Wales
Cardiff
Swansea
Snowdonia
The crappy bit in the deep south west where everyone is related

Scotland
Glasgow

France
Paris
Normandy
Provence
The Dordogne
Dieppe
Calais
Marseille

Lille
St Tropez
Some other bits

Germany driving through Belgium to get there

Southern Italy
Near Benidorm in Spain
Greek Islands (Allonissos and Skiathos I think)
Prague
Budapest
Amsterdam
Guernsey
The Hague

I think that's it. I've never left Europe but I've seen quite a bit of it.
