Since the board got wipped why not start this over then?
The rules are as follows: If you identify a screencap, it's your turn. If you don't want to take your turn, pass it on to another member. Well, if it is from Street Fighter, I'm pretty sure it's not from Zero (or Alpha as it's known in the US). I don't remember that scene at all from the SFII movie either so I'm guessing it's not from that. Again, the art doesn't seem to fit SFV either........so I guess what I'm trying to say is......I've no clue.
It might even be from Garou Densetsu (Fatal Fury) than SF. That was pretty old...... :cheers: |

Yeah, exactly! It's from the 2nd Movie to be precise. If it hadn't been guessed by tomorrow afternoon, I would have posted the other screeshot that occured moments later (attached here) that would have shown Megure and Kogorou inside the chopper.

Not sure since I haven't seen that part in the anime (still waiting on Hitoribochi's subs) but I'd guess that that is KoGoRo from Keroro Gunsou? The pic in the manga isn't at all like that, but I thought I would have a guess since it's the first thing that popped into my head.

It's not Keroro Gunsou. It's a 12 TV series that's also licensed by The Right Stuf. One of the characters is voiced by the wonderful Norio Wakamoto.

uh......Armor Hunter Mellowlink, Eat-Man `98, Guyver, Legend of Himiko, and Ninja Nonsense, are the only 12 episodes anime he is in...and of those...Ninja Nonsense is the only once licenesed by The Right Stuf...so Ninja Nonsense as so called 2x2 = Shinobuden will be my guess!

That's Jigoku Shoujo I believe :), that or Samurai Champloo...or it's a scene very similar. I guess Jigoku Shoujo though. I could be wrong, but that's what I associate with brutal death.

Reading skills, guys. This picture is from the first season. Yeah, you definitely haven't seen Mai-Otome. None of the male characters or their costumes from Otome or Hime look like any of those in the screenshot. And no of course it isn't Mai-Hime either. I could see the school girl uniform being confused with one from Hime though, Natsuki in particular. New bleh hint: has harem quality of only one main male character who gets the shit beaten out of him each episode. |
I can really only think of Girls Bravo, but then I don't luckily know fanservice anime, much less ones in their second seasons.

It's not as blatant a fanservice anime as Girls Bravo. I don't think they ever show tits in it either, just clever camera angles when there is any nudity. Also it's newer than Girls Bravo.
Pshh... "luckily". I'll admit that a lot of fanservice animes aren't high up there on the ol' intelligence meter but it's all a matter of your taste, sometimes tolerance and open-mindness, and for some people self-control. I know harem/fan-service anime isn't everyone's bag but to condemn an entire genre sounds a bit snobbish, "I'm better than you" there, Q. Just sayin'. =/ |

Sure I don't see why not. It makes things a little more interesting. Don't expect everyone to know your obscure manga as it's not as easy to research as anime is. I'm up for it though.

Hahaha, sorry, not Patlabor. I was tempted, but that would have been a bit too obvious. As a hint, this series has a live action show as well as an anime and manga.
And no no, I always try to pic samples I think people should be able to guess. If a series is obscure, I'll at least try to have recognizable characters in it if nothing else. The idea is to get people guessing after all, not just "Bet you can't guess where this WALL is from! Hahaa!" =P |

I would encourage people to allow more telling hints in their samples, give something to work with. It's far better to have the sample too recognizable rather than too obscure. And just because you don't want the sample to feature one of the protagonists for fear of it being too easy, the alternative does not have to be a picture of a wall, a door, a tree, a road, or a building. Yeah Ken Akumatsu tends to get poor adaptions of his manga. It's a damn shame because they lend themselves very well to being animated yet they can never get his style or follow his stories correctly. Oh well here's hoping the Negima OVAs get it right minus the cool Pani Poni Dash character design.

Yup that's it. Riding Bean is what Kenichi Sonoda did before Gunsmith Cats. It's pretty funny though, because a lot of stuff that was in Gunsmith Cats was in Riding Bean, like the GT 500. Both stories are set in Chicago too.

I enjoyed it, too, but seeing as how the storyline was diffrent alot of people abandoned it after watching only one episode most likely because they thought the wolves were werewolves. Not to mention that the way it was marketed it made it sound like it was a Cowboy Bebop sequel and once people figured out it wasn't, it turned alot of people off as well. |

I think the samples doesn't have to be limited to the 90's to present. If it's old, at least pick from something that isn't too obscure to most pple. Something from the 60's are a bit waay too old thou ^^;
I also think very new series (came out within the last month or so) shouldn't be used. I know that sometimes I don't have the time or space to grab every new series that come out. What do you pple think about this? |
Old OLD series/movies, and what not are probably abit too old(post 80's is a good time), but it shouldnt be used it say the show JUST aired, say somthing that is on the summer schedual, is a nono, but somthing that was on the spring schedual is fine(and if it overlaps its ok too)...and this should be a duh, but lets try and keep it spoiler free...I have no idea if that guess what right or not, so please tell us ^^...on the guess i think i got charaters confused, but i still thinks its disgaea

The reason why I picked an eye close up is due to the fact I used to run another game on another forum where people had to guess the character by their eyes. Needless to say....alot of people were stumped as to who the character was. But in this case I would have posted a landscape after it so it would have been easier to figure out a little then. |

My guess would be Fate/Stay night cause the mansion looks similar to...can't think of her name's place. Also the series does take place alot at night with the battles and it is still on going, but not sure if that is right or not

Only ongoing bloody show I know currently is Tokko. Haven't seen past ep 2 though so not sure about the screencaps. Tokko is definetely my guess though.

I am completely unversed in the mech anime genre, and searching on google didn't even help. My guess is Gaogaigar, though I know their mechs don't look like that screen. And Gundam Wing was going to be my second, but as khalfan also realizes, the mechs in that screen aren't of gundam style.

I'm gonna guess Ogon Yuusha Goldran. It's a mecha show, has multiple saga and aired in the 95-97 range. Also saw a picture that looks like the mech from the sample although I can't really be sure it's the same.

The problem with non-Gundam mecha shows is that if you've watched a couple episodes of a couple of them, you're unlikely to remember them. In my case, I watched anime in Hong Kong when I was young, so the name of the show was translated, and since I was incapable of reading hiragana or katakana letters at the time, I have no idea what it's real name is. That problem applies here, except I don't even remember the Chinese name, I see the feet, the plane, the robots, they all look familiar. But having seen so many random episodes of random mecha shows, it's all kind of a blurb. |

Well, it is part of Yuusha Exkaiser or one of the like 10 'spin-offs', and the only one of those that acme out during your time from was Ogon Yuusha Goldran, but there you really cant call them sequeals, because verything takes place in the same setting. Personaly i have never even heard of anythin of that list but Betterman, but oh well thats my guess... and i WANT my freaking post if i get this, so skuff off no stealing it!
