Full Metal Alchemist: Anime Edition
I opened this thread for discussion of the Anime Edition of Full Metal Alchemist, including the anime movie.
I myself have a few questions, thank you for helping me out: Spoiler:
|
first thing dude, remember that the anime and the manga took different ways in half of the series, so things are different in the manga than in the anime.
[sp] 1- watch the movie, 2-the magic of anime 3-bad person 4-you need to open the door from both sides to cross it. watch the movie 5-again, watch the movie 6-im not sure, but in the movie the dragon appears 7-good question, never thought of that 8-not sure 9-because he detected that she was a creature made with alchemy, and he is trying to destroy everything that handles alchemy. 10-actually i think that armor al was a copy ed's memories , thats why he could remember certain things in the anime, and we the real al returned, he looked like a small boy and didnt had any memories of what happened 11-i dont know about that 12-same here 13-its suppose that you exchange something from this world, to the other world. that is what i think 14-dont know i never read the manga 15-no idea 16-no idea 17-no idea 18-yes kinda sad, but the true ending is in the movie. [/sp] |
I have got to see the movie!!!
|
yes dude
i recommend you to watch the movie, is very good. i think in september its in the theathers, |
Too bad I don't live in America but in Europe, I'll have to buy it when I go to Hong Kong.
|
yo can download the movie then
|
Yea... I've watched it. Hm... my friend got it downloaded, so yep, you can d/l it, I guess. ^^
|
I'm pretty pleased with the ending, but I have the feeling that the movie didn't tell me much that I didn't know of. I feel a bit empty.
|
Oh, so you watched the movie already? o.O And hm... I thought it explained quite a lot for me. Ah well... -shrugs-
|
I didn't quite understand the movie entirely, especially since I got really terrible sub that was misttimed for a good chunk of it. I just wonder if that evil woman throughout the whole thing was just there as a crazy lady to be the main villain, or whether she had a part behind the scenes throughout the whole anime in

Also, since I'm not good at remembering details for some things: Spoiler:

My subtitle went crazy too.

My attempt at answering the questions:

I want to get to know more anime like this one.
Are there any anime out there that come close to the quality of this anime? Quality in my opinion means: quality drawings, humor and moral. Rurouni Kenshin is a good example. Pokemon, Onmyou Taisenki and DBZ are bad examples. |
maybe you will like Eureka 7.

I'd also recommend Chrno Crusade. The characters are enjoyable, and although the ending could have been better, it's still an excellent series. |

Spoiler:
I personally didnt like the movie anyway.... no where near as good at the TV series Spoiler:
|
Spoiler:
And Chrono Crusade looks very interesting, so why is it called Chrno Crusade? BTW, that blond haired girl really looks like you know who. |
Pride:
Spoiler:
Chrno is Rosette's partner, and Crusade is a term in religious studies, although I too forgot the significance and just think of it as an adventure. |
I hate FMA movie's ending.
Spoiler:
|
Well, I think it's not so bad. At least both Ed and Al' are in this world, right?
|
I didn't like it. I felt that
Spoiler:
|
i felt the same dude, but it was a nice ending, thought
|
Jesus christ, have you not heard of AnimeNewsNetwork? If you're going to make a thread for something, at least keep it on topic.
A crusade is a holy war in order to rid the world of infidels, by the way. Dictionaries (and english classes) are your friend. Also FMA movie is a terrible ending to the anime, which was only subpar itself when compared to the masterpiece that is the manga. |

I really loved the anime but the movie was just so gay man Its so Gay the Anime is just so cool but the Movie is gay dont watch it and who ever likes it is gay just kidding but the Movie is just so gay. and I think you got the point so yeah.
|
I thought of the movie to be an average sequel. I was a little disappointed at the scene when Al and Edward met . I was expecting a real dramatic masterpiece but it felt like they just said "what up , bro? nothin' chillin? aiight later" for 4 mins and went off to fight a B-Rated Villian.
The movie's ending is another beginning to a "possible" 3rd installment. Hopefully I'll expect more -.-.Overall, Shambala's Conqueror was alright. Just didn't live up to its potential. |
I really liked the movie. It was cool seeing everyone again.
Spoiler:
No, I don't think the ending to the Conqueror of Shamballa leaves any hint to a sequel. The plot goes full-circle, with the ending reattaching itself to the beginning. That's how movies should end, Evangelion. In any case, I enjoyed the movie thoroughly, and I'm glad it brought the series to an ultimate conclusion even though, sadly, it wasn't the one I was really hoping for. Still a good ending though. |
Does anyone know what the title is of the music those gypsies were playing and singing in the movie? That song was heavenly!
|
I just saw the movie!!! and I must agree that...
Spoiler:
Spoiler:
I'm not so used to seeing Al in human form... GET BACK IN YOUR SUIT OF ARMOR!!!! |
For those who watched the movie:
I really didn't get why these people in "our world" used armors that look exactly like Al's armor. Did I miss something? |

Is there any real history about this anime?
I think it's from the middle ages and there were also alchemists trying to make gold and the philosopher stone was real too. I don't know about the place though. It looks russian and all. That song Bratja (Brothers): what language is it in? It sounds russian. Also it is played by a russian orchestra. The gypsie song was Kelas btw. |
I just know that Hohenheim of Light had the famous alchemist Paracelsus as a role model
Look up "Paracelsus" on wikipedia... I'm not allowed to post links yet :D And yes, "Brothers" is russian. |

Since it's a parallel world, I think it's just a few years off. And, I think Ed's world is ALSO what we know as Germany. And, to be hinest....I thought that before the movie. There's a very "German" feel to the villages and architecture in the anime. I'm not sure I can explain it any better. Hmmm...now that I think about it....."Shadow of Destiny" by Konami is a game centered on alchemy that takes place in Germany..... I didn't think Germany played that much of a role in alchemy..... |
Just watched the TV series ending yesterday. It looked like a "omg can't do something too classic let's have a bunch of scenario twists that doesnt make sense" symptom.
Other than this, I've enjoyed that series a lot. Will surely watch the movie later, even if I'm not expecting much. Now I need to find something else to watch ~ |
