New PS3 Games Screenshots
 

Game Watch has put some new screenshots and info (in Japanese... its Game Watch anyway) of some games that they will be playable at the Tokyo Game Show, these games are: Genji 2, Minna no Golf 5, The Eye of Judgment, Warhawk, Resistance Fall of Man and probably the most awaited of all: Gran Turismo HD, its seems that some names were changed.

Some of those games looks really awesome, specially Resistance Fall of Man in the graphics side, looks like The Eye of Judgment got a special mode of play the game...

I mean, sure it's higher resolution than PS2, but this is definately not "OMG I'M BLOWN AWAY!" material here.

Gran Turismo's looking nice. One wonders though how long it'll be before they actually release it. Gran Turismo PSP never materialised and they always seem to miss their release dates.

Sadly, this means that as well as £400 for a PS3, I also need to raise a grand for a decent HD TV. :(

I dunno, those Gran Turismo shots don't look that much better than Gran Turismo 4, if you ask me.

Maybe not the best game concept, but the environment looks nice. They are getting really close to a genuinely hand painted look using polygons. After seeing this shot I'm looking forward to some of the games that tend to use this style, Level 5 games in particular.

It looks like a decent step up. Plus GT4 was limited to six cars on screen; GT HD can have up to 24. That's a rather large difference. Also give the video a watch as the motion blur effect in GT HD offers some amazing results.

Are the paper thin rims for cars on track going to make a surprise appearance again? Or are they actually going to be rendered in 3D this time.

Will the blazingly realistic drivers and bumper car physics make a dashing unveiling?

I love GT games, but I hate how Polyphony still makes me feel used halfway through each game in the series.

Why would they just remake the game in HD. If they do that who will buy it. From these screens, it really looks dull. No grass texture, no 3d people models and everything the guy above said. The cars look OK. I would expect it to be PGR3 comparable when all is done, or its worthless. Of course they will never have the 3d environments like Bizzare created for PGR3, but I am not expecting that. And of course all those screens are on Nurburgring.

Well so far, I'm not impressed with all b-rated games coming out for the ps3 but genji 2 and EoJ.They might as well make another Orphen game to spice it up a bit like the ps2.

Not only that, Gran Turismo 4 is already HD capable. I rented it after I got my 1080i-capable HDTV to see what it was like. I didn't really enjoy the game, but it was quite a sight to see.

The other games there, though, really don't look that impressive. Maybe it's because the images are compressed and downscaled, but this looks more like PS2.5. So far nothing to impress me beyond what I've seen in some PC games (the one first-person shooter looked way too much like Half-Life 2).

I've already seen screenshots from other tentative PS3 titles that have impressed me more than these. C'mon, Sony, you've got a system with a year's head start and another one that can brutalize you in the price arena to compete with, as well as ill will from XCP to make up for. If you're going to do graphics, you've gotta do better than this.

*yawn* Wow those shots unimpressed me. Shit, spending $600 for a new system to play graphically insufficant games or $400 to play the Xbox 360 for Gears of War, Mass Effect, BioSphere and many others? Yeah I'll use the $200 saved for those upcoming games.

Bravo Sony. I still don't want your system. However my mind may change just like it did with the PS2. I didn't think the PS2s graphics were that much better than Dreamcast's at the time. So we'll give another year or two.

you know it's not the ps3 that his making those game but, game compagny, so if youshould blame someone because the game is not as good as you like you should blame the Maker of the game before bashing the console >.>

I think Resistance looks just as good if not better then any other 360 game, plus we all know how Xbox turned out =p

Hey guys let's not turn this into a PS3 vs 360 vs 2600 thread because they're very annoying and I will punch you in the gob.

Lol I'm not, I'll be getting all 3 systems I just wouldn't get a 360 over a Wii. Also since when has any launch been STELLAR? Sure some are good but for every system it takes at least a year before the really good games start coming out.

Is this really the power of Cell? or nVidia's graphics chip? Because I've seen stuff better than this.

I know it's not fair to compare something that is still a few months away to something that's been out for a while, but I must say, I'm somewhat dissapointed. I thought the PS3 was supposed to be the shit....like crazy shit. It looks more or less like a PC game. Albeit, a PC, to play this, would have to drop like a 7900GT or a X1900 to play it, but still.

Why is everyone under the impression the PS3 was suppose to reinvent high definition graphics? Did Sony tell us the RSX was some alien technology so powerful it can destroy minds? You guys ought to take it down a notch. The PS3 isn't going to do anything we haven't already seen on the PC. And a couple shitty screenshots of crappy games is hardly indicative of what we can expect.

As always, games'll continue to look better as developers get to know the hardware. What we see know looks great, but I expect PS3 to perform better as the years go by.

Of course over half the game was cutscenes in CG.

This game made me wonder why FFX looks crap compare to that, I mean sure the game is bigger and longer, but it was still quite a difference.

I'm pretty sure given time, graphics on the PS3 will get better and better.

It certainly should for at least the first year because I know that the xbox 360 did and still does some things better.

Wait, you mean to tell me there on games on the 360 that PC hardware is not able to achieve? I'm finding that a tough one to chew over. I think it's more accurate to say the 360 and PS3 hardware have only just caught up to PC hardware. It's a little absurd to thinks it has surpased it however.

I'm not following any of the new consoles very closely but from the little I have seen of the PS3 launch, Warhawk is looking pretty darn nice.

Looking at things in relation to PC gaming... True, F.E.A.R. which is now almost a year old rips all these PS3 screenshots a new one, but what PC games will be coming out as the PS3 releases? We don't have a firm, solid launch date yet do we? So, though HL2 now makes these screenshots look a little dated, the PC games that will be coming out in 2007 will make HL2 look dated. :o These things didn't matter, when the difference between PC's and consoles used to be thousands of dollars. When there is maybe a couple hundred dollars difference at most, it is going to matter.

Gran Turismo always seems to look good. But the one thing they always lack is collisions that let you watch the body of your vehicle break apart. I've been waiting for them to include that for some time now. Gran Turismo has lost its touch... at least for me.
