Smallville (Season 5 Discussion)

Same thing goes for 24 thread. USE SPOILER TAGS FOR UNAIRED EPS AND AIRED PREVIEWS PLEASE.

Since we are on hiatus until March 30th, next ep is TITLED
Spoiler:
Hypnotic
I figured we could talk about your opinions of Season 5 so far and what you liked/did not like.

In regard to the the last episode, "Cyborg", with the teen titan, I thought was very good, just a little behind "Run" of last season for comparison to other future heroes. Lots of shit happened primarily with Lionel/Martha and the Lana/Clark. I really want Lana and Clark to be together with her knowing the secret, and THEN realizing that it will never work becuase he has a bigger destiny, but I don't know if that will happen after what happened in "Reckoning". Basically he won't tell her now, because he knows she is too close to Lex and he would know immediately that she knows, and he can't let that happen. It is not because she is in more danger when she knows the secret because she is always in danger. It is the Lex factor. She thinks there is still good in him because he is actaully a good liar and she can't read him like she can Clark. If only Clark just fucking tells her, and tells her everything about what Lex has done. However, that won't happen. My bet is that she just finds out on her own now. Who knows though.

Meh I will leave the great Lionel (John Glover holla) discussion until later.

Also, I was just accidently spoiled on a guest star next ep.
Spoiler:
James Marsters
I would have rather not known, but what are you going to do.

Meth Mar 7, 2006 02:53 AM

Yeah next ep should be all the rage! I can't wait for "you know who" to make an appearance.

I thought the Cyborg ep was pretty standard until the last sequence with Lionel. It bumped the episode from a 5/10 to a 7 in my book. Lionel is easily one of my favorite characters.

MysteryRidah Apr 10, 2006 11:36 PM

New epsiode in 3 days , hope everyone tunes in. :)

I have been posting there for a long time, cool site. But not the best. I still post over there from time to time tho. :edgarrock:

Grundlefield Earth Apr 11, 2006 02:09 AM

Yeah "Void" was pretty sweet I thought, which was the last episode. The episode that returned from hiatus "Hypnotic" was rather weak. Although Fine was great in it, of course.

Void just had so many spectacular scenes. Clark running to Honduras, the Johnathan scene, Lex/Mom piano scene, and the Clark is stunned, he has no idea what to say to Lionel "Goodbye.........CLARK!, scene.

Mobius One Apr 11, 2006 02:15 AM

Damn, this is the first season that I've actually missed most of it. I have class at the same time Smallville's on this semester. I finally saw the episode where Clark's dad died. *tear* Wow. The whole thing wouldn't have happened if Lex wasn't drunk (the first time around, thus not causing Clark to have to "reset" the time continuum). I'm really starting to not like him.

So THIS Thursday is the new episode? I'll try to record it while I'm at class.

Also, can someone bring me up to speed on what happened after Brainiac disapeared in the fortress earlier in the season? I have no clue about what happened up 'till when Clark's dad died.

Grundlefield Earth Apr 11, 2006 02:22 AM

No the whole thing wouldn't have happened if Johnathan didnt win the senate race (or you could say Lionel caused it by giving Martha the campaign money, etc), but that was his fate and caused Lex to get pissed off at his life. And Lana would have died because of Clarks death earlier in the season, but Clark turned back time, and Jor El: The universe will find a balance. Clark just didnt know it would be Johnathan.

Also Thursday will be the third new episode since the hiatus. Just download the eps you missed.

Mobius One Apr 11, 2006 02:24 AM

Where? Could I get some Smallville torrents please.

Laguna_Leonhart Apr 14, 2006 05:46 PM

I have heard of this one good site...
myseasonpass.com or something.

Sorry i cant remember if its exact but its supposed to be good for tv programs.

MysteryRidah Apr 15, 2006 01:33 PM

Please note: If can watch the show, please watch it. Dont download torrents if it is not needed.

Also where is all the smallville fans at , who post on this board?

Double Post:
Also

Before next weeks' episode gets here, i'm trying to get all the smallville fans together. The ratings starting with Hypnotic and void and Fragile has been low.

So i want to see , all smallville fans report to this thread. I dont care what you say, just post in this thread.

I'm going on different forums trying to round everybody up.

Fact is, the ratings should be around 4.0 or 4.5 million, but its at 3.1. or 2.5 rating, thats terrible and i'm trying to figure out where everybody went at.

I hope before this season ends, we can see a boost in the ratings. Plus i also think there is a lack of promotion for smallville, which is hurting the show.

Grundlefield Earth Apr 15, 2006 01:41 PM

Well I for one don't care about promotion because it spoils the episode, so I avoid them at all costs. The ratings are low because of the over month hiatus and the fact the "Void" was the only real good episode. "Hypnotic" and "Fragile" had their moments of greatness, but were just mediocre eps overall.

However, I hear we are in for some great stuff in the last 4-5 eps.

Oh and Ridah, I can't post at Kyptonsite. I have been there forever, but It will never allow me to login no matter hwat I do. I can register just fine though.

MysteryRidah Apr 15, 2006 01:52 PM

Well lets hope for the best and try to get people back watching. Hypnotic was good , you know fine was there and all , but the other stuff, was weird. Fragile was good, but had little to do with superman, expect maybe for clark being just a good person ha haha. Void was good, infact real good.

Anyway, so you can register at kyptonsite, but you cant post?

That is strange. You can post over at:

http://www.devotedfansnetwork.com/in...age=smallville

I actually go here first for all my smallville news and discussion.

Grundlefield Earth Apr 15, 2006 02:06 PM

I got a feeling the last four eps will be fantastic. I mean they should be with all the storylines left unfinished. Can't wait to see what happens with Lex/Clark/Fine and Clark/Lionel/Martha. As well as Lana/Lex/Clark. I am hoping that Lana actually find out at the end somehow about Clark and Clark tells her evverything about Lex and so she stays away from him for the most part. However, I am probably wishing too much from TPTB.

MysteryRidah Apr 15, 2006 05:35 PM

Sounds good. I really cant wait for fine and clark fight, plus bring in the 2 disciples/aliens and general zod, that should kick ass.

Meth Apr 15, 2006 06:35 PM

I'm hoping Zod makes an appearance at the end of the season. Maybe they'll set it up where he has to fight him all next season or something. Hopefully he'll be cast well if they do decide to throw him in. I just hope that these final episodes of the season begin to escalate quickly. No more freak of the week fillers; they need to get down to business.

Welling's directorial debut wasn't too shabby. The glass manipulator dude really wasn't a threat in the slightest to Clark, but other than that, it was a decent episode.

MysteryRidah Apr 15, 2006 09:01 PM

Ok i see, yea making clark battle zod and the rest of the group into next season would be cool. I'm thinking about it right now hahaa.

I like the freak of the week thing, but i guess now is not the time for that.

Grundlefield Earth Apr 15, 2006 09:30 PM

Yeah, it wasn't that Fragile was bad at all. It was just done already. Frankly, the A storyline was the same thing as "Stray" in season 1.

Meth Apr 16, 2006 02:53 AM

yeah, i'm guessing for welling's directorial debut, they wanted to give him something rather cookie cutter... something that he's familiar with. as many freak of the week eps as they have done, i guess he couldn't screw it up.

MysteryRidah Apr 20, 2006 10:27 AM

New episode tonight, hope all of the fans planned to watch.

Meth Apr 20, 2006 01:07 PM

You're all welcome to come to my place and watch Smallville in 1080i. Show starts at 7 Pacific.

Grundlefield Earth Apr 20, 2006 03:28 PM

I have it in HD as well, but I am sorry WB broadcasts never seem to look HD.

MysteryRidah Apr 20, 2006 11:26 PM

Perfect episode in my opinion. Lots of un-answer questions tho, so i look foward to the next episode.

Meth Apr 21, 2006 12:29 AM

While the episode began like crap with the whole Saw ripoff... it turned out well at the end. The last confrontation between Clark and Lionel was awesome. Now it's got my wheels turning as to what Lionel was freaking out about at the end of the ep. What did he write on the paper as he was collapsing? Is he still in some way possessed by Jor-El? Creepy how he kept calling him son.

Next week kinda looks like a filler to me. With only 3 eps left, they need to escalate things quickly. I'm hoping the finale will be an hour and a half like last season.

Luckily I didn't read it.

Not that there seem to be many fans here.

MysteryRidah Apr 27, 2006 09:48 PM

Wasnt there alot of fans watching smallville on this forum , before the forum went down?

Anyway, anyone watching or watch tonights show?

Grundlefield Earth Apr 28, 2006 01:33 AM

It was an alright episode.

I do have to say though that Season 5 was on its way to be the best season ever for the first half of the season up to reckoning. And the second half has just been average.

They could have done so much more stuff with Milton Fine and other shit in the second half and not wait till the season finale or whatever they may do. Seriously, they couldn't keep up with the greatness of the first half.

MysteryRidah May 3, 2006 07:59 PM

New Episode Tomorrow.

CLARK IS VISITED BY JONATHAN’S GHOST — Clark (Tom Welling) is stunned when he sees his father’s ghost (John Schneider) at the graveyard, but becomes even more confused after Jonathan tells him he must kill Lionel (John Glover). Meanwhile, Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) develops a vaccine for Fine’s (guest star James Marsters) deadly virus, but Fine intervenes and injects him with the vaccine, which causes a shocking reaction in Lex. Kristin Kreuk, Erica Durance, Allison Mack and Annette O’Toole also star.. The episode was written by Caroline Dries and directed by Whitney Ransick (#2T6421).

Btw, this is from my video collection:

Note: this video is from my video collection, it is not a scene from tomorrow's new episode,

This has something to do with tomorrow's episode Oracle and i'm guessing the season's finale episode Vessel)

I hope all is watching, i am. :)

How many times do I have to tell you retard? I mean come on man. I don't even know why I click on my thread anymore when i see you have posted. Thanks for spoiling it for me ass. Since I accidently read the first five words or so. I advice you to edit in spoiler tags now or thread is finished.

MysteryRidah May 3, 2006 11:44 PM

Alright first off, watch what you said to me, alright homeboy. Second, you must not visit kryptonsite site at all, yet alone the rest of the sites. 3rd, i posted the description to the show, that extra stuff has nothing to with this tomorrow's episode if you would read.

Also there is nothing wrong with reading the description of the show, so if i'm wrong i guess kryptonsite is wrong , not to mention the WB, tv guide , devoted and the rest of us.

I mean, if its a big problem for you, why the hell did you make this thread?

haha reading a few damn lines is not gonna mess up spoiled the show, you know it and everyone knows it.

You might as well closed this thread, because i'm done posting about this show on this forum. I dont wanna discuss this show around people who doesnt have enough respect to keep their mouth shut if they have nothing nice and peaceful to say.

Banned from thread

Spoiler:
OMG, Lex = new Brainiac spawn. Infected with nano machines, just like in JLU! Good stuff, I'm so glad I was able to catch tonight's episode. I wonder if the nano machines will allow Zod to manifest himself in Lex or if Lex simply gets Kryoptonian powers...

Grundlefield Earth May 5, 2006 01:44 AM

See now that does not need spoilers since the ep already aired. I just took a chance that it was about tonight so I clicked on it.

Seriously, tonights episode kicked ass.

The only thing I didn't like is that you could tell that they should have spread this virus thing it a little bit longer. Not basically have it in the final two episodes. It made it seem very complicated, and in all actuality I am still kind of confused on the whole subject, which basically never happens on smallville.

Jor El most likely(Lionel) killed one brainiac spawn. One was talking to Clark and Martha as Johnathan and the other two if they didn't form back into the others are still wandering. Oh and Brainiac injected him for a reason and I doubt its too have kryptonian powers. Because well they arent kryptonian powers and even so.

And I bet Lana will find out about Clark when he is weakened by Kryptonite and Lana sees the meteor rock near him.

Mobius One May 5, 2006 02:47 AM

The preview for next episode said that Lex gets Kryptonian powers. Since Brainiac seems to serve Zod, I'll bet he injected Lex so that Zod could manifest himself in Lex/take over Lex's body. Or something.

Meth May 10, 2006 02:19 AM

I'm so hyped for Thursday! This finale is sure to rock your face off! If Zod posesses Lex and gives him super powers... it'll be on hardcore! I'd love to see a slug fest between super powered Lex and Clark. And hopefully Lana will witness the whole thing. Then maybe Lionel will get possesed by Jor-El again and beat some Brainiac ass.

Clark and Jor-El/Lionel

vs.

Lex/Zod and Brainiac

the tag team match of the century!

Meth May 12, 2006 11:57 AM

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who saw the finale?! That was craziness! This is the most insane that Smallville has ever been.

Loved the part where Lex smacks Lionel into the car.

And that final shot of Clark drifting off into space was awesome.

It's too bad we'll have to wait till September to see how it's gonna play out. Any theories on what you think will happen?

makura May 12, 2006 07:48 PM

September is a long wait.

They should kill Lana, I don't like her character anymore.

They'll need a nuclear explosion to free Clark from the Phantom Zone like in Superman II movie.
So Chloe will travel to the Fortress of Solitude (ala cave) to get instuctions from Jor-El. Which will give her temporary powers to save Lois and Mom Kent from the falling plane. Then the army brat Lois, trusting Chloe's word that it will save the world, will convince her dad to send a nice pack of nukes to space to free Clark. Then Clark will spin the world backwards on its axis to turn back time to the point where he disobeyed Jor-El, so he can get proper training to defend Earth. Yay.

What a cliffhanger. They better come up with a good way to clean up this mess they created.. the world being in destruction, Lois and Martha in the falling plane, Zod on the loose and prolly shagging Lana rotten, and Clark in the Phantom Zone .. all at once. Who's gonna save them?!

I don't get how throwing the dagger to Brainiac would release Zod. And why that beam of light came from the Fortress of Solitude.

I just now found out that the voice actor of Jor-El in this Tv series is done by Terrance Stamp.. who originally played Zod in Superman II movie. But I read that the series creators denied the rumor of Jor-El being Zod being true.

You shouldn't get so hyped about the fight scenes. They never had a massive fist fight scene in this show, even when clark had to "fight" those 2 super kryptonians (is giving a shove even called a fight?..) so i doubt there ever will be a big fight. The biggest fight was probably against brainiac in the fortress which was like less than 5 swings.

Grundlefield Earth May 15, 2006 12:29 AM

Very interestng finale, but it was the WORST finale on this show bar none. I am sorry, but ever since the going back in time thing in Reckoning, the show went downhill this season. If you take this season up to Reckoning, it is the best series of episodes ever.

"Vessel" was just so all over the place. They ruined Lana's character it seems ever since Clark going back into time and lana heading toward Lex.

The special effects of the cities were not good and Lionel not dying from Lexs accident punch to the face was just not realistic. I mean I can extend my disbelief for the most part on this show, but not that. Also, it does not seem like any time passed after Brainiac inputted the infrastructure virus that rioting and burning began to occur. That does not seem realistic, unless they were only showing like the slums of each city, but it was right aside the Daily Planet lol. And why were the lights of the cities going out at the end of the episode when they were about to show Clark in the phantom zone, when they had already gone out.

The car stoppage in the daily planet was very goodd though as well as the beginning sequence.

How will Clark ever get out of the phantom zone, and how can he stop zod, when Zod had total control on him being put into the zone. And how will all this shit be explained to the world? No one saw the spaceship in the field? No one saw the red beam? Maybe they will give us a good explanation in season 6, but I it seems very impossible. And how will they get out Lex to not know about Clarks secret?

And why didn't Jor el say to Clark not to use it the dagger on Fine.

This season could have been utter brilliance, but this finale makes me believe the producers think we are idiots.
