Ring of Honor is probably my favorite promotion to watch right now. Promos take a back seat to good, fast, well-done wrestling.

Some slight advice though is to wait until they have a deal on DVDs. They have things like 50% off, buy 2, get 1 free, etc. That would be a nice time to stock up on ROH DVD's.

Kevin Steen and El Generico have really gone up the ladder. I remember when Steen got smashed within minutes and Generico lost a match within thirty seconds or whatnot.

Manny Biggz Mar 8, 2008 03:51 AM

Oh, I totally forgot to add them to my favorites list. The ROH crowd can be overly unforgiving at times. A few have come back from being booed out of the building, to fan favorite regulars. Kevin Steen, and The Carnage Crew are two that come to mind. One of the best things about ROH though, is the storytelling through the booking. While promos do take a back seat, there's still amazing stories being told. You just have to put a little thought into it. The current thing with Nigel McGuinness is freakin booking GENIUS!

mortis Mar 8, 2008 04:03 AM

Quite right. I think this basically goes with what Bret Hart says, "Tell a story in the ring." and that's what they do.

Winter Storm Mar 10, 2008 01:52 PM

Guess when I get a new job I'll look into buying those ROH DVDs. RAW and TNA literally put me to sleep now and I always seem to wake up at the main event.

Slash Mar 10, 2008 08:05 PM

I'm sorry but I must say that this 3 hour raw has been full of impressive..amazing matches. Its worth watching tonight you guys.

Prayers answered
Spoiler:

Floyd mayweather just got thrown out of the ring by big show

Winter Storm Mar 10, 2008 10:20 PM

Spoiler:
HHH: Cena and Orton will team up against..
THE
ENTIRE
RAW
ROSTER.

I lol'd hard on that.

Floyd should back out while he still can, now that he's hurt.

Slash Mar 10, 2008 10:22 PM

Better Dream match
Spoiler:

Cena vs Orton in a Last Man Standing match where HHH will be the special guest referee!

That would be a megalawl moment

I just thought to...It would have been an amazing WM if it was Flair vs Taker...Career vs. Streak

mortis Mar 11, 2008 05:46 PM

Well kids, so much for Jeff Hardy's push. He got suspended again. Man, the IC title seems to go from suspension to suspension (Hardy only got it because Umaga got suspended all those months ago).

I am guessing he was one of the top candidates for the MITB match. I feel Kennedy was the top candidate but perhaps whoever gets Hardy's spot will be the guy who actually wins it.

Slash Mar 11, 2008 06:24 PM

The thing I hate the most about WWE's wellness policy...is that they'll do it over any little thing...which totally sucks.

Winter Storm Mar 11, 2008 09:51 PM

Well what did he do this time..steriods too? Man I thought his dropping of the title was a sign of a heel turn/MITB victory. :/

Slash Mar 11, 2008 10:03 PM

Ditto here

but what do you want to bet that he got "busted" for pot or something like that.

Winter Storm Mar 11, 2008 10:20 PM

If he's started back smoking pot then I guess he wants to head down the road again where he sucked in the ring and was pretty fucked up in TNA. Unless he now knows how to "smoke in moderation". Vince knows who's the bigger fan favorite out of the two so, I guess Hardy is going to go back into "fading mode" once he comes back.

mortis Mar 12, 2008 09:39 AM

Hardy may very well be another one of those 'just near the tip of the mountain only to fall all the way back down'.

Funny though. If it wasn't for Matt STILL being out of it (man, Matt and MVP's feud may very well last a year thanks to the injury time by both men), it may have been BOTH Hardy's holding individial, gold, secondary to only the world titles.

Slash Mar 12, 2008 09:45 AM

I don't think Hardy will fall back down to the bottom. I think it blows that he fell out of WM...but hey...look at Kennedy...he had a great wrestlemania, a perfect storyline set up to wreck it (which I think was BS cause we all know the steroids were for when is shoulder got busted up) but a year later...they're doing the same damn storyline

Spoiler:
With Kennedy probably winning MITB

I also have predictions that Matt will be a surprise entrant. It'll be smart on WWE's part to restart the feud between MVP and Hardy. I thought it would have been better to take Matts absence to move him to Raw to team with Jeff. So much for that though

Winter Storm Mar 12, 2008 09:58 AM

Uh...lol I used to joke about this but it really is feeling like the WWE wants to do away with tag team competition. Atleast on a championship level. And if Kennedy goes in MITB, I hope he wins but this time..not get suckered into putting it on the line like he did with Edge.

dagget Mar 12, 2008 10:58 AM

I have all ideas that Kennedy will probably win MitB again and use it that night with a little to-do from Vince. It would be too perfect to have it revealed at WM that Kennedy is his son while at the same time screwing whoever wins the triple threat, out of the title. (In my guess it would probably be Triple H) Setting up a mammath of a fued up.

Hardy will get back up to where he is again. It's probably what the talk him and Vince had before Raw was all about. Of course he'll be a jobber for a bit, like Kennedy was and then once that time has passed, get back in the spotlight.

Except Kennedy didn't have a choice since he was going to be out with an injury for an unknown amount of time.

Well, before he dropped the titleshot against Edge, it was assumed he'd be out 6 months... but then afterwards it was found out that it wasn't as serious as they thought and he ended up being out 6 weeks.

Slash Mar 12, 2008 08:45 PM

Oh wow...that whole thing between Show and Mayweather was legit. Thats insane.

Apparently there is real tension between the WWE wrestlers and Mayweather

Winter Storm Mar 13, 2008 12:57 AM

Breaking his nose surely did not sit too well with him at all after that day. Their match is going to be real interesting. Floyd is full of shit, but he's still a powerful boxer with enough force behind those fists to KO Big show.

Slash Mar 13, 2008 01:05 AM

But you also have to remember that they aren't doing a boxing match. At least thats what the WWE is saying

No. Hard Pass. Mar 13, 2008 01:14 AM

Oh please. Yeah. Because the WWE certainly wouldn't push the concept of legitimacy. I mean, that's SO CRAZY, they'd NEVER try that.

O wait...

mortis Mar 13, 2008 03:22 AM

Just a thought. Maybe they will keep the name "Hardy" in the MITB match. Everyone will wonder "What is going on?!" and then BOOM, it's a Hardy alright...MATT Hardy.

It's not WWE that reported that. This is backstage tension. This kind of stuff happens all the time. Mayweather's boys wanted to "prove themselves" to the wrestlers, so they broke script, and went legit with it. Highly unprofessional, but what more do you expect from just another guy that probably thinks pro wrestling is just a "male soap opera".

mortis Mar 13, 2008 07:41 AM

In other unsurprising but still sad news, the cruiserweight title has officially become an inactive title and is retired. I still remember ten years ago when this title was red hot. NOw....ugh.
