That's the point of a premium bundle. YOU GET MORE!!! And if you don't want it then you buy the standard bundle. And with the lack of stuff that the core 360 came with the system itself was basically useless without an HDD or memory card. At least both PS3s allow you full functionality as far as the games are concerned.
|
Do we really have to start this argument up again? It's pointless. Both systems are out now, and it's all about the games from this point forward.
Really glad GT:HD was canceled and put as a free download. Hope it gets available here, even though I don't particularly like GT. But at least shit-flingers have one less thing to hurl now. |
I hope it comes out here too. I'm always up for free stuff, even if I don't like simulation games. Must say though, right now I want a PS3 for the Assasin's Creed & MotorStorm demos... too bad I can't find a darn system to acutally BUY.
|
Quick question - do demo downloads cost money? Somebody told me that they cost like a buck each on the PS3 as well as the 360. If this is true, that is insanely retarded. Isn't a demo a form of advertising?
|
nope they are totally free >.> and I'm pretty sure that those on 360 are free too (but I'm not sure since I don't own a 360)

All demos are free. Though there's talk that the Halo 3 Beta could cost some points to download, but nothing is yet confirmed.
|
Can you have something downloading and play a game at the same time? That would be nice as I imagine that downloads will be freaking huge. It'd be annoying having to wait until the d/l is finished.
|
well no you have to wait for the download to finish... let's hope sony will release an update soon that will let you do something else while downloading...
|
The price!!! 10 million in my country!!!
Now, IMHO I better buy a new motorcycle than PS3... |

The PS3 did just come out, and this is Sony's first time with such a huge online project, I personally find it amazing that Sony's been able to do as much as it has. It's done better then Nintendo by far and is not too far off from the 360 except for in a few convienent features. If Sony remains serious I believe they could pull something really amazing off, despite the price of the hardware. |
Did the release date for Oblivion change? Today's Wal-Mart ad had it listed along with NBA '07, but it didn't have an actual date.
|
Oblivion is due for January if I'm not mistaken...

Nothing really big in news or anything, but it looks like the playb3yond website is finally finished. Their 'games' section is pretty neat, as it shows a lot of the big games coming out for the PS3, including trailers and screenshots.
I think they ditched some of the videos they had planned to release earlier as well, as I remember more 'Coming Soon' links than what they have right now. Oh well. |
|
Haha wow. For a minute I thought that was you. Didn't you say you were thinking about auctioning off your PS3 earlier?

The PS1 games are available now in the online store. There's Crash Bandicoot, Tekken 2, Syphon Filter, and a couple of others I didn't bother remembering. No Jumping Flash, no Silent Bomber. Disappointing, and the other games aren't worth my time (even though they're cheap). Also, I've experienced PS3 in 1080p. Expect a journal entry on the subject soon. |
Firmware 1.3 just came out for el PS3. Details are still in the air about what exactly it does. But people are complaining about something regarding 1080i. Doesn't concern me, since my monitor can't support that res.
|
Basically it sounds like the system automatically sets HDTVs to 1080i instead of 720p (it's debatable which is technically the best). As a result people are bitching up a storm.
Of course, the simplest method would be to simply uncheck 1080i in the display settings, but I think people prefer bitching about it online instead. I haven't had this problem with my new monitor, as the info still reads it as 720p. |
Well, I actually had a quite glaring issue when I had first restarted after updating...
I had set my resolution setting to "auto", and for whatever reason it included 1080i in that bundle of resolutions. So when it started back up, it attempted to put me in 1080i... Which my monitor doesn't support, and thus I just got an error message on the monitor saying "please switch to a supported resolution." -- And I couldn't see anything at all. I tried shutting down, unplugging my HDMI cable, and starting up with S-video connected... no dice. It doesn't detect that the connection isn't being used, and so it seems you would have to change the setting before switching to a different input or else you won't get any image at all. Thankfully, my memory of the XMB was pretty faithful... What I ended up doing was using the clicks of the XMB interface to find my way around. Clicked to the far left, moved over one... down to the bottom, then counted up 3 to Display. Then hit X a few more times and switched over to S-video. From there, I switched back to HDMI in 480p and added 720p to my resolution list, taking off 1080i. Now I shouldn't have any issues with it attempting to set my resolution to an unreadable one :D So, problem solved on my end despite peoples' bitching. |

That's actually pretty awesome. Could this be a new trend of downloading PS2/PSP games with 1080p support? |
Technically Tekken DR wasn't even a PD2 or PSP game. The PSP one was a stripped down version of the Arcade Tekken 5 2.0 DR, and it never made it to the PS2 as you know. So for die hard Tekken fans like myself, this will be the only version of the best 3D fighting game yet, now I REALLY need a PS3

ok I just receive my hdmi-> dvi cable but I can't seem to make it work...
I plug it to my screen, so I have a composite cable and the hdmi cable plug at the same time so I could go change the setting, but when I choose hdmi in the setting my tv goes black(which is normal) and I see my monitor flash but the screen stay black too... so anyone use his ps3 on his computer screen could explain me how to make it work please. I think it's a problem with HDCP or something... I know that I can watch blu-ray movie on a tv or monitor that doesn't support HDCP but I thought that game and other things would have work... is it possible that you can play a ps3 at all on a monitor that doesn't support that?? Double Post: oh well I found the problem... to play with the ps3 on your monitor you must have a monitor that support HDCP, if not than you can,t play at all with your ps3 on that monitor... well at least I got a good deal for the cable so I didn't waste a lot of money... the problem now is that I need to buy an HDTV XD |
