And God said to the Internet, 'An end of all flesh hath come before Me, for the earth hath 'been full of stupid from their presence; and lo, I am delaying Smash Bros.'

Stop Sign Jan 15, 2008 02:12 AM

lol owned. Just in time for spring break for me, though, so I don't mind too much.

And I thought the same thing as Lizardcommando about the Olimar stage - it looks really good.

RacinReaver Jan 15, 2008 02:14 AM

They're actually just waiting for more people to buy Wiis so they can have a bigger initial launch number.

Maybe they'll put Duke Nukem in as a playable character.

shadowlink56 Jan 15, 2008 02:23 AM

Dammit. That means less play time before my baby arrives . . .

immp Jan 15, 2008 02:25 AM

Fucking awesome. Another month of pain.

Lacerta Jan 15, 2008 02:28 AM

Well, at least I'll know what I want on my birthday.

Assuming that it does indeed launch on my birthday and doesn't somehow get delayed again.

Y'know, I'm somewhat inclined to agree. I've got all of...what, lined up for March? Wild Arms? Mana Khemia?

At least now DMC4, Professor Layton, Apollo Justice, and Wipeout Pulse all have good time to get played or finished before Smash hits.

At least, for me, that is. This is a giant kick to the nuts for everyone else. It's weird. Every bloody day, Japan time finds another way to kick us in the johnson, and we just sit here and take it.

We'll have dicks made of the toughest leathery hides by the time this game eventually comes out in June of 2010.

Sacred X Jan 15, 2008 02:36 AM

Gosh, I wouldn't have expected that delay rumor to actually be true. From what I've seen, they were nearly complete if they had went with the original release date.

I hope this doesn't turn into another one of those multiple delay situations.

Elixir Jan 15, 2008 02:49 AM

This is a good thing, actually. Now people will actually know No More Heroes, DMC4, and Lost Odyssey exist. Not that I care much for LO, but it might be worth checking out.

Think positive. Brawl isn't the only game out there (why am I saying this in a Brawl thread).

The Japanese release is also delayed...although it's only until the end of the month (1/31). That's nothing compared to an extra month!

It annoys me that the Japanese get less of a delay. By then, everything would've been spoiled for us... At least it would put some of us out of our misery, and by then, the Japanese have time to take over the worldwide rankings for Brawl.

What the fuck... Honestly, a worldwide release date should've been set to prevent this kind of shit from happening. Sakurai is an idiot for letting this kind of thing happen.

And blah on the actual update also, I'm kinda pissed almost all the new stages are pretty stationary, as opposed to all the wonderful moving stages they had in Melee.

Y HALO THAR KINGDOM HEARTS 2.

Krelian Jan 15, 2008 03:18 AM

Everything I like is being delayed. :(

Oh well, only ten days at most until we know everything about this game.

edit: Jap delay, too? Okay make that fifteen days. :<

Chaotic Jan 15, 2008 03:19 AM

I guess Sakurai loves to put people out of their misery. I think this is revenge for Kirby not being a good character in the last game. :(

Para Jan 15, 2008 03:40 AM

The detail on teh stage looks awesome. Definitely one of the special greenery stages we've been looking for.

Cheezeman3000 Jan 15, 2008 03:59 AM

To be fair, it's probably not Sakurai's fault. The game's launching in Japan on the 31st, so it could be anything from localization to internet testing that's holding back the US launch. Things that Sakurai probably doesn't have much of a hand in.

Congle line of abuse. Or is that conga-line. Or congaline. Jan 15, 2008 04:13 AM

Time is an illusion. When the game hits you people won't even remember the delays you ingrates.

But seriously this works out great for me. I'll be way too busy moving about in february to even think about brawl. Hopefully they'll just spill all their beans in the meantime as far as what's in the game to tide us over and leave nothing a surprise when it comes out.

Elixir Jan 15, 2008 04:14 AM

Yeah, fuck those guys for releasing their game into their own country before the rest of the world.

Seriously, who does that?

I deeply apologize to the people who have looked forward to playing the game for so long, but to be honest, we don't really give a fuck because we know you're going to buy it no matter how long we push it back. Thank you for your patience.

Fixed.

These Delays totally suck and what sucks more is that this game will lose NO popularity because of it

WolfDemon Jan 15, 2008 04:36 AM

Awesome. This way it comes out just a few days before I get back from Basic Training and Tech School. I was getting depressed thinking about how the game would be out for two months before I even got to play it.

Interrobang Jan 15, 2008 04:50 AM

The delay is annoying to me, since I don't buy a whole lot of games to start with. Maybe I should finally get around to Metroid Prime 3.

Of course, in that case, all of the delays didn't help the game from ultimately sucking and forcing them to come up with a Japanese-exclusive release that added some of the shit they couldn't be bothered to do the first time around.

Infernal Monkey Jan 15, 2008 05:24 AM

Tomorrow's Smash Bortlicenseplatesers update will be the PAL release date.

Dark Nation Jan 15, 2008 05:25 AM

Localization can be a bitch.

Actually though, this works out better for us, since they have more time to perfect the game. I'd rather have an AWESOME game released later then a GOOD game released now.

The internet however, is probably going berzerk right now.

The_Griffin Jan 15, 2008 05:45 AM

Only problem is that IIRC, the game's gone GOLD.

Seriously, this is really confusing to me, and sorta pisses me off. The way it was before, it was going to come out RIGHT around my birthday, and my brother-in-law and I were planning on having a drunken SSBB party the weekend afterwards. So much for that.

Seriously, this sorta thing is sorta starting to make me reconsider my pre-order.

.

And you can't have this party still why?

Dalkaen Jan 15, 2008 05:56 AM

Looks like you're going to have to change your signature there, Slash.

Anyhow, the delay doesn't upset me too much since I wasn't going to have the cash to get a Wii + SSBB in time anyway. Maybe now I will. The Pikmin stage looks pretty awesome btw.

Slash Jan 15, 2008 05:58 AM

Already did ^_^

But this Delay kinda blows. I almost feel like I have to just stay of the net for a month.
