These questions deal with stereotype breakers:
SM62) Name 3 RPG males that are mage types (eg. better at magic and such than swordplay, 3 different games please).
SM63) Name 3 RPG females that are powerhouses (eg. better at melee combat, no magic, 3 different games please).
SM64) Name in instance of the "confusion" status, in which a character does not attack allies.

Top Spin from MM3 and Charge Kick from MM5 are the only ones I can think of at the moment.

Name five Mega Man attacks that do damage when Mega Man touches an enemy.
Actually Yama, you missed one. TECHNICALLY it would not count, but at the same time it does.

Tengu Slash from Rockman & Forte. If you dash through the enemy, it does damage. Though it can be thrown too.

Dalkaen Aug 3, 2006 11:57 PM

Perhaps you should add it? Wikipedia is freely edited, you know.

8. Name three RPGs in which there is an option to be fully healed after every battle.

Omnislash124 Aug 4, 2006 08:54 AM

Um....an option to be healed? I dunno about that. But if you're being healed after EVERY battle, that would be Shining Force, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Bahamut Lagoon. Actually, just about every Strategy RPG.

Summonmaster Aug 4, 2006 02:59 PM

One of the Wild Arms (I think Alter Code F) had a special bar for that purpose especially. Yeah the Vit gauge it was.

As for SM64), confusion seals your techniques instead of making you attack allies in Disgaea.

SM65) Name 3 fighting game stages and their respective songs in which there are Japanese vocals as part of a song that is background music.

Ha, Maniac Mansion! Umm...I can only think of two.

Spoiler:
Drown them in the electric pool, or see the Meteor without a radiation suit

OK, here's two more.
Name 3 games where at least fully half of the game is played in self-contained flashback (that is to say, MGS3 doesn't count merely because it's in the 1960s - I'm thinking more along the lines of 'what happened last week' in the game's own timeline).
Name 3 games where disobediant party members can be disciplined.

Okay, I can't think of three, but I know Eternal Darkness is almost entirely like that. I would say probably 75% of the game is learning what happened before it started. Someone else will have to add two.

SonicPanda Aug 5, 2006 08:49 PM

The third one I had in mind was:

Spoiler:
Vagrant Story. One of the opening teasers reveals that the whole thing happened 'last week' and there is a manhunt out for Ashley.

Nintendonomicon Aug 5, 2006 10:27 PM

Hitman Contracts is another one, since most of the missions are the "memories" that 47 has of them.

I probably should have excluded tactical RPGs from that question. I was thinking more along the lines of Chrono Cross (it allows you to automatically be healed based on Elements you have equipped and items you have in stock) and Tales of Symphonia with the cooking thing.

Ingrid's Stage (CFE - "Heat Haze")
Almost any Power Instinct Matrimelee Stage (eg. "Wonderful Intranet")

SM66) Name 3 sacrificial type spells/techniques in RPGs that either damage the enemy heavily or heal allies at the cost of the caster's life.
SM67) Name 10 attacks in RPGs in which some sort of space debris is called forth.

Well, for my part, that's because I can't actually think of anything other than
Spoiler:
not stopping the countdown

66. Selfdestruct, Explosion (Pokemon Moves), Spiraler (Sabin's Blitz in FFVI)
67. Comet, Meteor, Supernova (FFVII), Grand Cross, Fire 3 (FFVI), Debris Fall (Tales of Phantasia), Ancient (Seiken Densetsu 3)

Ugh....stuck at 7 attacks for 67.

Star Rain (SMRPG), PSI Starstorm (Earthbound), Eden (FF8)

How's that? Also, argh....how did I forget the other stuff? It's been too long.

Possible Solutions
---

SM66) Sacrifice (Zidane - FF IX), Exploder (Stragus - FF VI), Sacrifice (Yulie -Wild Arms 4), Self Destruct (Voltorb, Electrode, etc. - Pokemon), Kamikaze (FF VIII) etc. are all acceptable answers out of many.

SM67) Meteor (FF IX), Comet (FF IX), Doomsday (FF IX), Meteorite (Chrono Cross), Meteor Shower (Chrono Cross), Meteor Storm (Tales of Phantasia), Supernova (FF VII), Ancient (Seiken Densetsu 3), Grand Cross (FF VI), Northern Cross (FF IX), etc. are all wonderful answers since many a game has gigantic space debris of some sort.

I think Sub-Zero had an Ice Clone move in MK4, I assume Naruto can do it in his games, and If I remember correctly, Hanzo from Samurai Showdown has it too.

Acro-nym Aug 12, 2006 02:51 PM

Any Pokémon character that knows substitute fits into this category, I suppose. Immediately, I can only think of Mr. Mime.
