It's official, Nintendo's broken a record with Pokemon Diamond and Pearl first day sales. Apparently they sold 2 million copies within the first few hours, completely exhausting Nintendo's stock. Heck, they even shut down other factories in order to pump out that many and still it sold out.

**SNIPPED PICTURE** Thanks for clarification M. Sphere
I know that the Japanese like them some videogames something fierce but that is fucking insane. All jokes aside, I REALLY am looking forward to this iteration of Pokemon. I tired of the series at Gold/Silver and never bothered picing up Ruby/Saph (disinterest). The spinoffs are mostly lame fluff, and I dont bother with the retreads. This is the first time I've actually been interested in a Pokemon game for years. =\ |
That screenshot's not from the release of the game, there was an electical fire started in a train station nearby.
MORE pictures of legendaries, Magneton's evolution, Chloreon and Glaceon, RegiGigas (if you notice, he has 3 sets of eyes, each the color of a Regi). The top left pokemon, a legendary, is called Hiidoran while the one in the top right is called Kureseria. As you can see, Porygon3 is in the mix as well, along with some Mew-like new pokemon. Oh, and Murkrow's evolution is Diamond exclusive while Misdreavous' is Pearl exclusive. More differences will be coming in, I imagine. Edit: New info, Hiidoran is Fire/Steel. http://zenixstudios.com/files/727regiimagev1.PNG And Diaruga is looking like quite the badass: http://www.serebii.net/diamondpearl/dialga.jpg All 8 badges: http://www.serebii.net/diamondpearl/8badges.jpg This is one of the lines for the game in Japan, this one had over 1,000 people. http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/game/...928/poke02.jpg http://gemaga.sbcr.jp/mobimg/06/09/115940694003.jpg http://gemaga.sbcr.jp/mobimg/06/09/115939684200.jpg |
Regigigas? I think that's the first time a new Legendary has been based on old ones. Or maybe it's an evolved/blended Legendary! Or maybe, it's a Legendary that gives birth to other Legendaries! Okay, probably not either of those...
|
I wouldn't be surprised if he's literally the "King of the Kings" and while not a Regi-evo or whatever, he's still part of the same group. We've yet to see that final legendary, the black spectre like one I had a sprite of a while back.
I think that's the only one we need left to see. Oh, and they've just confirmed how you'll transfer your pokemon to Diamond/Pearl: You can transfer 6 pokemon per cart, per day. So if you have R/S/E/Lg/Fr you can transfer 30 a day, though I doubt people have their pokemon scattered like that. When you do transfer them, they remain the same as when you did so and they go to a "Pokepark" where you run around in the grass and recatch them. Now now, calm down, the balls given to you for the Pokepark have a 100% success rate. And only your transferred pokemon will appear in said park. I'm guessing the park exists only to give the pokemon their new sprite/illustration. |
Do they level up the same, though? In the past, trading between old versions and new versions was like trading to a new trainer. In this instance, a new trainer can catch them out right. Is the bonus EXP, lowered stat points still there for this system?
|
No, notice I said transfer, not trade. Basically you have recatch them, ie: they're wild and you're the OT. Here's a massive picture of all the evolutions and pre-evolutions the oldies got. Looks like whoever said Gardevoir gets an alternate form was right, it's Psychic/Fighting.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2.../evochange.png Man, apparently 700k DSLites were sold today. Back when this gif was made, I didn't really believe it but now I can definitely say... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...rintsMoney.gif Quote:

ROFL! Thank you!
|
Thank you for putting together that list. So, it's a baby Chimecho, no Hoppip. And Victreebel and Lapras get alternates? I sort of see why Victreebel gets one, but Lapras? Hmm.
|
Whoa, I didn't make that. I've just been dredging the internet for info, and apparently there's 4 or 5 people in GaiaOnline's pokemon thread playing the game. They're updating as they go along (new moves, like Kadabra's Miracle Focus which weakens Dark types to Psychic attacks further, Gyms, etc).
And as of now we have... 6 legendaries: Diaruga (Diamond), Parukia (Pearl), Hiidoran (Fire/Steel), Kureseria (???), RegiGigas (Rock?) and Chiratetina (Ghost/Dragon). We've still got that ghost like pokemon at the end of the sprite list to go. Edit: Anyone notice that Hiidoran's type is Fire/Steel? Those are the two types the final grass evo is weak against, so it looks like we know which of the three won't have an easy time with it. |
Undoubtedly, though, one could have a good creature to combat it.
There were eight legendaries in Ruby/Sapphire. Maybe they're making do without a Latios/Latias counterpart? I really don't want to chase things again. |
Well, four of the six are stationary according to the screenshots. I doubt Hiidoran (from what I remember, just like it sounds, Heatrun) will be moving though it's possible. Regi and the Ghost Dragon are like Diaruga and Parukia in their placement which mirrors that of Mewtwo in R/B.
|
THAT LIST IS INCORRECT SIR!
The sea slugs are NOT connected to Lapras in ANY WAY. LAPRAS HAS NO PREEVOLUTION. As well as the pure dark type no one outside this board seems to care about, there's also the Uber-Normal that's yet to be discovered--It's the Absol looking thing to the right of the pure dark... it also has a grand total of 720 base stats, beating out Mewtwo and his ilk. Oh, and I think the Kureseia thing is pure Psychic. |
You mean Togetic's evolution? I already know that one has some ridiculously high base stats, but I think it isn't pure normal but Normal/Flying. And I'll take note of the small slug-like creatures not being pre-evos. They're different colors depending on which side of Shinou you catch them.

^For one thing it's stats don't suck.
[491] HP 70 ATK 90 DEF 90 SPD 125 SPATK 135 SPDEF 90 DARK DARK And another thing it actually gets powerful Dark moves. |
Absol was Dark? In R/S/E wasn't he Dark/Normal?
|
Nope. Pure dark!
The pure darks before either suck at being Dark (Umbreon is the most badass Pokemon, but its stats don't allow for it to do anything offense-wise. :() or just suck (Mightyena I'm looking at YOU). This new guy would be awesome... if we're not being forced to catch him at a Nintendo event like I'm fearing. |
Dark will only be decent if there are decent Dark moves. That's what was lacking in the past. So, if what you claim it true, this new one could be interesting.

Animated sprites, and some new stuff. Kureseria is only female, BTW.

WTF is this? It looks either like a big-eyed hippo...or some crazy looking gator with it's nose in the wrong place. Oh...never mind. It's name is Hippopotasu. It's pretty obvious what it is now. I'd love to see a new shark or a gator monster. Sharpedo severely disappointed me with its crappy 'Sunfish' backside. I want a FULL shark, not HALF a shark! http://www.pokebeach.com/dp/pokemon/images/469.png Yanma's new evo looks quite nice. |
Fukamaru:
http://www.pokebeach.com/dp/pokemon/images/443.png Gabaito: http://www.pokebeach.com/dp/pokemon/images/444.png Gaburiasu: http://www.pokebeach.com/dp/pokemon/images/445.png You wanted a shark, you got one. Well, it's a Land-Shark and it's Dragon/Ground. Oh, and yes, Hippopotasu is a Hippo, though his evolution is really creepy. |
Hey wow, that looks pretty cool. It's not a water shark, but it's still quite nice, especially its evos. The basic form looks a lot like Mudkip to me.
