NO SMASH BROTHERS?? RAARRRR!!

Other than that, I'm quite impressed!

Kilroy May 9, 2006 12:41 PM

Ah. yes. Brilliant:) What did I miss?

The end of the show;_;

cubed May 9, 2006 12:42 PM

That's it ???...... I was expecting more

MeTaL_oRgY May 9, 2006 12:42 PM

So it's over... and I'm amazed. Nintendo's done it again. I <3 Wii. It trully seems like the most promising console for this next generation.

chaofan May 9, 2006 12:42 PM

Brilliant, but could've said and done more.

That said, I'm going to sleep guys. Bloody 3.41am over here.

Solis May 9, 2006 12:43 PM

Doh! It's over! Haha.

Ahh well, I guess it wasn't bad, but didn't have nearly as much as I hoped for. In fact, the "surprises" were pretty lame to be honest...and I'm actually a bit worried about the controller now because it seems like it didn't work nearly as well as I thought it would. And they still didn't give a price or date...not a good sign.

Actually, I was more excited about the announcement of a Star Fox DS more than anything.

TheReverend May 9, 2006 12:44 PM

Did you guys see Fire Emblem???!!

Heck yes!

I'm sold. And it looks like I'll be buying a Wii to play Zelda this holiday season!

rockthepartay May 9, 2006 12:44 PM

A couple more games would have been nice, but what was presented was pretty great.

I'm just worried that some games will simply get too complicated for even the expert gamer.

Prime Blue May 9, 2006 12:45 PM

Did I miss anything in the 20 minutes after the Zelda demo began? I had to help someone with her internet connection.
What's the last big Wii secret?

Newbie1234 May 9, 2006 12:45 PM

Overall, a solid showing by Nintendo, nothing too fancy, but I think they got their point across.

I would've liked a price & availability date, and of course Smash Brothers, but I think they've learned from Sony's mistake yesterday. They didn't show everything, but just enough to keep people interested and that they're very much into competing against the big guns.

I'm actually more worried they might make games too easy so those who are not great or are new to gaming can play easily with the Wii.

Infernal Monkey May 9, 2006 12:46 PM

Hmmm, no price or launch date mentioned. AND DID I SEE A GLIMPSE OF A PILOTWINGS GAME GUYS? I SAW SOMETHING. LIKE PILOTWINGS. Did I see Pilotwings? ;__;

Syndrome May 9, 2006 12:46 PM

Good freaking lord in all that is called heaven!
Sony is going down. Nintendo is ON THE TRACK!

Wall Feces May 9, 2006 12:46 PM

Only things I wished to have seen were the Virtual Console and the price. Other than that, a great conference. No beating around the bush, no bullshit.

I expect that some kinks still need to be worked out of the controller, so, I would wait until we get hands-on impressions before we give judgement. It looks real solid though.

Well, they announced that the controller also has a speaker, and that the system will be have a stand by mode so it's on 24/7.

I don't mind the date and price unknowns. It'll make Sony sweat.... :)

Yeah I was hoping for something a bit more surprising too. Speaker and WiFi Connect 24 were cool but not huge announcements.

Wiimote didn't work well?! Did you see that one guy pickup and start playing Tennis well in like 1 min?

MeTaL_oRgY May 9, 2006 12:47 PM

You saw Pilotwings, Infernal. Believe it. :)

Syndrome May 9, 2006 12:47 PM

Infernal Monkey: They confirmed Starfox for DS, dunno about pilotwings though :O

Yes, you saw it.

Oh, and lawl no price or release date or Smash Brothers.

But ZOMG Yoshi's Island.

TheReverend May 9, 2006 12:49 PM

They definitely did a good presentation. They presented there ideas and concept and blew the doors off it.

No smash bros :(

No real online games :(

27 playable games tomorrow!!!! Good lord, I'm glad I'm not trying to preview all of these...

Matt May 9, 2006 12:50 PM

I want pics of Yoshi's Island 2. WHERE ARE THE PICS OF YOSHI'S ISLAND 2??? ;____;

Ditto. The games almost looked too forgiving, will you even need to AIM correctly on the Golf game with the Wii remote? It almost looks like your swing travels on a linear plane and the controller is just used to determine how hard to hit...

Kaleb.G May 9, 2006 12:50 PM

At being half the length of the Sony conference, this was ten times as interesting. But what about Smash Bros? And speaking of HAL, what happened to the new Kirby game that was supposed to be coming out for GameCube?
