Ok, so, level with me here, are you guys basically not gelling with the whole "this is a sandbox do whatever" aspect of things? Because I keep seeing this pattern where somebody says "We should do X!" And then someone else strokes their beard and says "I concur, somebody should do X." And then nobody does X? Or much of anything really? Whole lotta nothing happening is my point.

Like, am I fucking up somehow, or are you guys fucking up, or does the essential concept of the play-by-post just arbitrarily not work on GFF anymore, or whats whats whats. Because, you know, sad face.

I can honestly say that the sandbox does lend itself to passivity in my case, as the coordination effort needed to have the party do much of anything together is a bit overwhelming. Without a central direction to our actions the momentum is hard to maintain.

Also, I imagine everyone is kind of busy and tired with the holidays coming up. I know I am.

That said, I'm willing to keep playing and shall try to put in that extra bit of effort to move things forward.

This is my first time with any sort of D&D thing, so I could be wrong, but I thought the DM was supposed to lead these sorts of adventures. If I say, "Let's do X" and someone else concurs, I suppose I'm assuming the DM is going to chime and say, "You've chosen to do X, here's what happens." If we choose to go further into the city, we have no idea what sort of obstacles we'll encounter without input from someone in the know.

I understand the difficulty of having to narrate these sorts of things, and I don't expect a ton of flavor text. A simple "You walk a few hundred yards and encounter some vampire unicorns" would suffice, and we could improvise from there.

You need someone to take charge and just arbitrarily drag the group around between fights. I'm surprised Deni hasn't taken the role on to be honest, he's almost as fond of writing silly nonsense in these games as I am.

I guess that works. I'm just used to somebody appointing themselves party leader and dragging everyone around by the neck, but if you guys want me to pull this wagon I suppose I'm game.

(One person suggesting that you "continue on your way" hardly makes a consensus, but in the general case, sure.)

Agreed, but folks have had 2 weeks to concur or suggest something else. I'm a naturally bossy person, so I'm trying really hard not to boss everyone else around when I barely know what I'm doing.

It was closed because Pang was afraid that if you were allowed to play, you would win everything and put him to shame. So he killed it prematurely to make sure that never happened.

The real deal, Maris, is you are the only reliable dude on this whole board so I decided to take my business elsewheres. And then once I started my business elsewheres my computer explode and I promptly ignored my business for like a week so maybe now I don't have a business at all ooooooh nuts
