Ultimate Spider-Man (ps2) - Wasn't so sure about it when it was full price, but picked it up at Best Buy for cheap. I love it. While the swinging mechanics arn't quite as good as Spider-Man 2, it's still tons of fun to just bomb around the city on some web.
Venom is great fun, and his leap (instead of swing) is so much fun it's scary. |
I bought The Chronicles of Riddick on Xbog the other day, ex-rental, really banged up and stuff (I think there's snot or something on the photo copy manual to give it some colour). But hey four bucks is a pretty damn good price. The graphics are really impressive considering the frame rate is mostly rock solid. Dunno if I'm really enjoying it any more though, the first few hours were top notch. Now I'm running around with a metal bat as my only weapon to try and kill all these mech suit guys that kill me in a single hit.
But I punched someone to death and his head got jammed in the toilet somehow! http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y13...gydolls002.jpg |
wel I just got my copy of tales of symphonia, it's weird because the game is player's choice but when I called ebgames they said hat this game is "out of print" . Anyway I found it on amazon for 20$ so yeah it,s players choice XD
I did already play and finish the game and really realy did enjoy it (like any other tales of XD) but it was on my friend copy and now I'm on a rampage to play old game and after finishing tales of eternia on psp last week I want to play this one now. oh I guess I should add tales of Eternia for psp to the list too. Love and love this game, my favorite tales of! and in my top rpg if not top game XD oh and waiting for valkyrie profile: lenneth next week ^^ (btw anyone excited for all the realese in fall? god so much good game are coming XD) |
Tales of Symphonia is a fine game. Perhaps not the best of the best, but it's entertaining enough to replay a few times. I like the presentation of the story in that game - as in, the way the various parts unfold (rather than the actual substance of the story).
Anyway. Xenosaga, Ep.II (something in German...like Jenseits von Gut und Bose?) was my last purchase. It's a really nice game - the plot is perhaps a little weird, but it's interesting. The characters seem well designed also. The villains are awesome too. Some parts seem a little cliché, but whatever. The battle system is rather original, although sometimes frustrating. I had to get used to pressing Circle instead of 'X' though. XD Unfortunately, XS, Ep.I never came out here, and it (probably) never will. Which means I'm missing out on a game ten times better than the one I just played (according to virtually everyone). I dislike the universe. :( |
I bought Ace Combat 5 a few days ago because I've been meaning to but never had the chance.
I love it, a good change from the three RPGs I was playing this summer (along with FIFA World Cup lol) - though my brother plays it a lot more than I do which is saddening since we both can't play simultaneously, so he's a bit farther than I am. |
Picked my copy of Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth and Astonishia Story for the PSP today. Wasn't too sure on Astonishia until I played, and I can pretty much entirely disagree with every review I've seen of Astonishia Stories thus far -- I'm really enjoying it.

I picked up Dawn of Sorrow, Partners in Time and Ace Combat Zero last week after I finished KH2 completely. Aside from BSing, or jonesing for some frenetic combat, I doubt I'll be revisiting the game.
The two I've touched so far are Castlevania and ACZ, with ye olde demons edging out Spoiler:
Zero's awesome too, so much so that the circumstances surrounding the player character are strangely similar to that of AC2. The whole mercenary fighter squadron and all. BTW, SouthJag when is Rogue Galaxy due out? I haven't been keeping an eye on it, and your banner got me thinking about it. |
Unfortunately, it's somewhat unknown. According to our release date list at EB Games, it's still set for, I believe, mid-Sept. However, in the RG thread, Hindman mentioned that he spoke with Sony people who said it wouldn't be out until the first quarter next year, or something to that effect.
As of yet though, nothing has been confirmed as far as an official statement from Sony. |
Wow, that's odd, given that the last time I heard about the Japanese sales figures for RG it had broken the 400k mark. Surely they won't let a game that sold that much slip through the cracks, let alone a Level 5 title.

I just completed Sonic Rush during my commute today. Metroid Prime: Hunters is the only DS game I have that's not completed, but I like options... so I stopped by EB Games and Best Buy (as well as Nordstrom and AE Outfitters). I got Big Brain Academy and Magentica from EB games, 2 games which I've been itching for the last few months. I also got 2 DS sleeves from there, red (which I thought was orange) and blue. From Best Buy, I got Sonic Mega Collection for GC, since I'm on a Sonic high right now and would be incomplete without him. Plus, it almost makes up for my Sonic Spinball being stolen from me a couple years ago. Fun times ahead.
|
picked up Geist for the GC last weekend on a clearance sale with my pocket change. Haven't played it yet cause of work, and i think i'll do a 24 hour run with my friend on it. I figured i might as well, i might not find a deal like that again.
|
I just bought a brand new sealed copy of Shadow Hearts from ebay. Payed about 50 bucks including shipping. Not a bad deal. I bought it because i already have Covenant and FTNW and i would like to own them all 3. I am also planning on buying Koudelka. That way my collection will be complete.

I read somewhere that Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth had a limited number of copies distributed, so I picked it up the moment I saw it when I was doing shopping in my local drug store. That was on Tuesday Aug 1. Normally I wait a year or two before I buy games for a lower price (unless they have extras for pre-orders). However that article I read made me a bit paranoid of the supply of VP.

I love you, creepy little pawn shop! $3 each is crazy. I've only ever played the original Phantasy Star on Master System, so this should be pretty neat. As long as the battery still works. ;_; Story of Thor was one of those games me and my mates used to get together to co-op years ago even though it's a single player thing. Kinda like Zelda on SNES, we'd yell loudly at eachother suggestions on where to go next. I've never even heard of the Ka-Kar-Keys-Ki game before, but it has Sage's Creations logo on the cover and they made Devilish, so I guess it'll be pretty rad! |

Phantasy Star III, though :tpg: Almost as great as old Mega Man covers. Generations of Doom. MULTIPLE GENERATIONS OF DOOM. And stairs with robots! But to balance out, Mega Drive's Disney games had the coolest covers. Even if Donald was standing/walking/holding this particular gun very strangely, it was still a cool cover and I wanted to play it so much when I was a kid. As for my purchases, we recently visited a further away city on vacation and I stopped by a local gameshop there. I found a PAL copy of Bangai-O, something I didn't even know existed. http://staff.gamingforce.com/qwarky/IMG416.jpg Nabbed that sucker right up. They also had a JPN Ikaruga there, but it seemed in bad condition and was pretty overpriced so I didn't buy it. Never had seen a DC Ikaruga that up close before, though. |
I didn't know it got a PAL release either! The publisher must be thrilled with all twenty people that bought it. ;___;

I was at a thrift store the other day, and I saw near perfect copies of You Don't Know Jack Vol. 2 and Vol. 3 going for a $1 each. I quickly picked them up,as this seemed like a pretty good deal. I had just finished downloading a bunch of YDKJ games too, so I don't even need them as I have the real versions of some of them.
|
Ordered a few more games.
Motherfucking Nintendo Monopoly! I had pre-ordered Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII and got that today. I'll try to start it tonight if I have time. I also pre-ordered Final Fantasy XII CE. I also got the SNES StarFox game off eBay for $10. I only played it well over 10 years ago when a childhood friend had it. I've never touched it since, so it may be worth it while waiting for StarFox Command on the DS. :p |
Just got Killer 7 for GC two days ago for about 20 bucks. I'm actually enjoying it quite a bit, and also like some of the dialogues. This is probably the last GC game I'm getting before Wii comes out, unless I find Eternal Darkness or Ikaruga for cheap somewhere.

Oh shi- Myer's clearning out all their Xbox stock.
http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/6...xcopyx6fy5.jpg Heard alot of mixed opinions and snorting sound effects as people laugh about this game, but I picked it up. Take THAT. Not really that far into it, but I got a real Disaster Report type feeling down in my pants at times, escaping the ruined office building and such. The trippy mind fuck bits are really great, too. Opening a door only to wind up in the middle of the desert, screen going fuzzy and being able to see your skeleton. None of it's making sense but I suppose it will eventually! I'm actually quite into this, the only annoying thing is the controls. They're CRAP. Pull the trigger to punch and you often get this random delay, and the huge dudes smack the shit out of you with no chance to get back up again. http://www.gpstore.co.nz/images/products/1476379.jpg I AM NOT ENJOYING THIS GAME AT ALL. Why do the quick draw showdowns have you up against people that can take at least twenty shots to the face with a bloody shotgun? KINDA DEFEATS THE WHOLE THING. The whole game's far too boxed up and the town's are awful. >=( http://nintendo-ds.allack.co.uk/Imag...e_Tour_GBA.jpg Wait this isn't an Xbox game OR IS IT? No, no it isn't. OR MAYB-no. Still dirt cheap though, and it's pretty in-depth for a golf game! The game bleeds Golden Sun. Very violent. |
I bought copies of Meteos and Super Mario Advance 4 today. Meteos is pretty fun, though I hardly understand how to play it, and Super Mario Advance 4 is Super Mario Bros. 3...wow, I don't even know how many times I've gone through that game on NES and in Super Mario All-Stars.
I don't have a TV set or any consoles in my dorm room, so I'm pretty much limited to DS and Game Boy Advance games right now. They are cheaper than full console games, so it's not too bad! |
I picked up a copy of Lord of the Rings: Battle for middle-earth 2 the other day. It was on offer, and I thought that the first one was quite good, and thought that this one would be just as good.
But, I'm dissapointed with this one, other than the campaign modes, the rest of the game isn't up to much. |
I bought four DS games this week, bringing my total number of DS games up to 32.
Best Buy had Sonic Rush on sale for $15, so I definitely grabbed that. I've been meaning to get this game for a while, and at $15 I couldn't pass it up. I went browsing at Target the other day, and they had Mr. Driller: Drill Spirits and Ridge Racer DS on clearance for $10 each. Mr. Driller is another game I've been wanting to get for a while, so to find it for this cheap was a guaranteed purchase for me. As for Ridge Racer, I just saw it there right next to Mr. Driller and figured what the hell, so I bought it too. I've never even played a Ridge Racer game before, so I was willing to try this out. And finally, there was a store in town that finally had a copy of Deep Labyrinth. I would have got this game when it first came out on Wednesday, but no store in town had it. Finally, two days later, a few stores in town got some copies. One of them was a block away from where my mom works, so I asked her to pick it up for me. Now that I finally have, I'll start playing it soon. Quote:

I bought Dragon Quest Journey of the Cursed King yesterday.
I’ve got about 6 hours on the clock. Most of that’s been through levelling up, before entering a small dungeon to collect a crystal ball. But, so far it’s been good, I like it. |
I'm still trying to find Deep Labyrinth myself.
Instead, I got a few GBA games that I used to just have on ROMs and put on a flash cart. I got The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World, and WarioWare: Mega Microgame$ (which I loved but erased a few years back). I've been getting so many DS games lately I've forgotten about the wonderful world of GBA. |
