I thought of something.
How about seeing if we could add a "quick quote" option. Instead of going to the post reply page when you hit the quote button, it puts the quoted text in the quick reply box. I don't really like having to load the post reply page to quote something. Or is this something already suggested. |

Oh, I know it's something that's feasable. I use SimpleMachines Forum (which is not nearly as fancy as vBulletin or IPB,) and it has it.
Edit: Messing around with a copy of vBulletin on my computer (WAMP setup, yadda yadda,) the functionality is pretty much there, but it's limited (in that it doesn't quite do it the way I'd like it to.) |
Well, this isn't exactly what you wanted, Merv, but there is already the option for quoting the last reply to a thread right here in the quick reply box. For some reason the box is there, but you aren't able to click it.
|
Umm, my suggestions:
-add smilies box to the quick reply button -Printer friendly button feature, so we can view the thread in printer friendly format. Well I always forget the smilies command, so... |

How it works, is that the quick reply box is normally locked, until you hit a quick reply button that unlocks it. What the button does, is it sends in what post you're replying to, then you're able to check the box to quote it, however, it only adds the quote until you submit the post. It's close to what I'm thinking of, and it would work, but not quite, ya know. What I was looking for was pretty much that, except it puts in the quote text for you. |
I think it can be done with Javascript, if I get around to testing it.
|
I don't know if it's been said, but we should get the who quoted me option back.
|
Could someone put the superscript and subscript tags back in please?
[sup] and [sub] if memory serves. |
We had those?
Anyway, just added them to the vBcode roster. Enjoy your H2SO4 and E = mc2 |
Don't know if it would be useful or not here (maybe in the My Stuff forum), but I've seen a feature around where portions of a post are hidden until users accomplish something, such as reply, say thanks, or obtain some given number of posts. A quick search came up with this: http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=97366
Maybe? Maybe not? Up to you. |
Just noticed that those little poll icons next to thread titles don't get ticked when you've voted. This shit needs to get sorted before Best Song Contest 06.
|
I mentioned this way back in the beginning of March, and I've yet to see it implimented.
Please bring back the "My posts" shortcut! Check out Serious Business... or better yet, have it as a sublink in a drop down menu when you click on "New Posts". That's how it was pre-crash, and I think a lot of people will agree with me that it was better that way. And please don't give me that "don't be a lazy assbandit" bullshit; It's absolutely no annoyance to the people who do not want it, so they shouldn't be complaining. Can we also get some new arcade games please? |

Sure, "Who Quoted me?" has been mentioned several times, but I'm throwing in my vote for that as well. :) |
I have terrible memory, but I think I remember this: at one point, when you quoted someone in a thread, you could click on something in the quote and it'd take you back to the original post. I'd like to see that again.

We need Chocopie.
Also, for bobo to expand on ChocoJournal a bit might be nice, a bit more freedom? The GFhome was very nice while it lasted also. |

I want the 'who quoted me' feature back so I don't have to waste my precious brain space trying to remember which threads I am trolling.
If somebody already mentioned this feature you're just going to have to suck it up and take this as a reminder, because I'm not reading 9 pages of "WE ARE MISSING :ROIRHUHRRH# SMILEY" thankyou for your time ^o^ |
|
Another note about quotes: it used to show when the original post was posted in the quote. I know it's a little thing, but I've been finding myself missing things like that a lot...
