Round 1 - 6 vs. 6

The first match was rather lopsided. I almost OHKO'd Kairyu's opener, but not before it held on with a Focus Band and launched a Stealth Rock to annoy me. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to slow my momentum, as I polished off the next few Pokemon. Kairyu threw me off mid-game by using Roar, though the replacement I was given was equally capable of hurting his Ground types. I eventually lost that one Pokemon, but not before it took out a few of his. In the end, I won the battle handily, as my speed and special attacks were more than Kairyu's team could bear.

Round 2 - 3 vs.3

Pared down to the essential Pokemon, I led strong with a OHKO. But Kairyu managed to get a Sandstorm brewing, and his last Pokemon managed to dodge everything I could throw. (Friggin' Sand Veil) It was close, but Kairyu haxxed out the victory.

Round 3 - 3 vs.3

This match was nearly a mirror of Round 2. Kairyu brought out the same team and I used two of the same from the previous match, with a third brought in for subterfuge purposes. My attempts at trickery didn't matter, however, as Kairyu chose not to play the hiding game but, rather, lashed out with direct attacks, killing my prankster before it could act. Luckily, I managed to land a heavy blow with my last fighter to claim the win.

Round 4 - 3 vs.3

Again, Kairyu stuck with the strategy that would give him the best chance of avoiding my heavy attacks. I kept the same strategy as well, but chose to bring in some weather control. As anticipated, Kai hid behind the Sandstorm but I managed to clear the air. Despite his defenses being reduced, he still mysteriously dodged a couple attacks and took out my first two attackers. Thankfully, my finisher connected and victory was claimed.

This match is compounded proof as to why Sand Veil is broken as hell.

Round One: (6v6)
Crash and I wound up exchanging each of our Pokemon over time. I'd KO his Pokemon, he'd retaliate by KO'ing mine, etc. Eventually, I came out ahead on an exchange in KO'd Pokemon and won by numbers. He almost had me, too, since I incorrectly assumed Eddy would be fast enough to outrace one of his Pokemon, and Eddy had to take another hit for the team.

Round Two: (3v3)
Boy, did I ever choose the wrong Pokemon for this match. I was mercilessly swept by one of his Pokemon without even so much as KO'ing it.

Round Three: (3v3)
I started off with one of my Pokemon with a bit more endurance this time. Unfortunately for me, so did Crash. His particularly unique strategy stopped my team dead in its tracks. I was even able to KO his deadly Pokemon at one point, but I incorrectly assumed he'd switch out. I paid the price, and his cleanup crew took care of whatever was left.

I'd hate to be this vague for the preceding match, but I want to hear about future matches with someone else getting squashed by this strategy.

Round Four: (3v3)
Even after a slightly discouraging KO from Crash's Pokemon, I managed to pull out of that slump thanks to Wyvern's endurance. Crash's Pokemon weren't able to outlast Wyvern's sweeping potential.

Round Five (3v3)
Closest round ever. Wyvern won the match with one HP left!

It's a good thing for me that I switched some of my items around because I wound up winning off of HP recovered from Leftovers and Focus Sash keeping my last Pokemon alive long enough to deliver the finishing blow. Life Orb still didn't really do as much as I'd hoped though. :tpg:

This was probably the closest I got to beating him. When my fastest Pokemon was outrun right from the get go, I knew it it wasn't going to go well. Still got trashed pretty badly though.

Took the first kill, but then was murdered after that.

Round 1 - 6v6:

I managed somehow to OHKO his first 2 Pokemon! I took some hits as well, losing one in the process.

Massive explosions. ._. Caused us both to send out a Pokemon, blind. Chaotic ended up switching his out, and then I started missing all my attacks for a few turns. I took him down, then a sandstorm brought me down to 1 hp. Lucky me.

It came down to the wire, 1v1... But I came out on top. :3:


Round 2 - 3v3:

OHKO time again! :3: I pretty much swept this round. I was quite surprised.


Round 3 - 3v3:

He took down my MONSTER HP Pokemon in one hit. ;_;

And then both of my other Pokemon in one hit each. He was damn fast. Or maybe I was just slow.

Nothing to see here. ._.


Round 4 - 3v3:

This battle started the same way as the last, with Chaotic taking my first down in one hit. I was surprised to see him switch out after that. I was able to take out both of his substitutes, bringing us to 1v1 again, but with me almost dead this time...

Of course, he easily broke me, bringing us to...


Round 5 - 3v3:

The one battle to rule them all! We both ended up switching out our originals in the first two turns, and each took down an opponent. After that, I was THANKFULLY able to OHKO Chief, and finally do away with him. :3333:

I took a lucky guess at what his third Pokemon would be, and I was right--Fang. Thankfully, I was right, because I had the perfect counter Pokemon, and ended the battle with him... But not before taking a heavy hit from Hidden Power.

Messed up on this one. Besides killing off one with Reaper, I didn't do much from there.

This one was pretty close again. Came down to the last Pokemon again, but I managed to edge him out.

My biggest regret comes from this one. I could've easily killed a team member of his using Psycho Cut a second time, but I felt adventurous and decided to use Swords Dance. In return, he managed to take advantage of my bad judgement and kill Reaper. Because of several mistakes in the match, he took advantage of all of them and managed to nab the win needed to close the series against us.

Round 1 - 6 vs.6

Josiah unexpectedly got the first strike with a Return, but it wasn't quite enough and I responded with a Close Combat to knock out his opener. We traded blows for a couple turns, waging a battle of attrition. The battle turned, however, when I managed to score a massive blow against one of his powerhouse Pokemon. He answered this by freezing one of my best defenders. I timed my switch well and screwed over his wall with a nasty support move. The rest of the match was spent trying to outpace his last Pokemon's ability to self-heal. It was slow but I took the win.

Round 2 - 3 vs.3

This was kind of unfair. Josiah was unprepared for my tactics and couldn't mount a defense. He went for broke on a switch but the risk failed, as my Pokemon was immune to his strategy. Josiah never recovered and the match was quickly over.

Round 3 - 3 vs.3

Our third battle was closer, as I chose not to reuse the same strategies as before. Josiah threw his most dangerous players at me, hoping to overwhelm me with power, I believe. I had good type coverage, though, and pushed my way through for the third win.

Round 1 - 6 vs.6

I feel poorly for DMOzzie, this wasn't the fairest pairing for him. He opened with one of his fastest but I did too, and I earned a quick kill. Things didn't improve much for Ozzie, as my Psychics were generally too fast for him to fend. A particularly amusing moment came when he used Dig on the same turn that I used Earthquake. That spelled disaster for Ozzie, and the rest of the round was mercifully over within minutes.

Round 2 - 3 vs.3

Again, we did the "immunity shuffle" for a bit, until Ozzie landed a square blow and knocked out one of my better Pokemon. It gave me a chance to bring in something fast, allowing me to clean up the mess. I had the type and speed advantage for the remainder of the match and won.

Round 3 - 3 vs.3

I initially planned to use the same quirky strategy I'd used in previous matches but this wound up being unnecessary. I was able to play it straightfoward and force my way through. He tried to set up a Double Team defense but never got the opportunity. Ozzie also found his Dig thwarted by another Earthquaking Pokemon, and that was pretty much the beginning of the end for him.

Round 1 - 6 vs.6

I was a bit apprehensive. In theory, I have the type advantage but I also know that Fighting types are often able to handle type coverage well. Our openers traded blows but neither succeeded in a one-hit-kill. I had the speed advantage and dropped his Pokemon the next turn, then swept another two before finding myself unable to finish off his fourth Pokemon. I was allowed to switch in a replacement and it was powerful enough to cripple Sousuke's defenses. I managed to clear his bench while losing only one of my own.

Round 2 - 3 vs.3

This match was basically an "All-Star" version of the previous match. The same Pokemon opened and swapped blows like before. His fell, then mine fell. I brought in the same finisher and Sousuke's team wasn't fast enough to get a move in edgewise.

Round 3 - 3 vs.3

See Round 2. This time, I tried a different opener, and that was a bad idea. It was slower and was levelled by a Shadow Claw. I brought the finisher out again; he did a good job but was thwarted somewhat when Sousuke brought out a Pokemon whose types made it neutral to my best offenses. I whittled it down but not before an X-Scissor chopped me in half. I was forced to bring in the backup plan. Fortunately for me, Sousuke's last Pokemon didn't have much remaining life, so one attack was the only requirement to victory.

Interesting opener. It was very strategic at first, with both of us exchanging KOs for the first two pokemon. His third finished the rest, though.

My God, was his leader fast. Not swept, but he had some fun with my guys before his leader finally went down. His number 2 handled the rest.

Not much I could do to prepare, so I tried to stall long enough for a certain strategy. Unfortunately, luck would have nothing to do with it. Crash pulled out one last surprise to make sure I never saw his third and final pokemon.
