Yeah, I use that offertory box all the time... At the moment, I'm an above average student. I'm working on my Social Link with Bebe... Weird dude...
But what's the warm and soft bread that the girl wants? I can't seem to figure that out either... |
only 4 hours into the game and i'm stuck :(
i'm trying to stay in about the same timeline as the strategy guide that i bought, but alas, i'm already behind! I'm stuck at the first boss :( any suggestions? lvl 14 boss... ;~; |

Juanzen beat me to answering, haha. I bought every damn drink in town before finding the right one, and just got lucky having the bread already.
|
I was wondering what that drink was, Thanks Juanzen.
I'm on my last day before the 2nd Full Moon, Currently i have this set of Persona. Aspara = Level 8 Zouchoten = Level 16 Valkyrie = Level 14 Berth (Something like that) = Level 15 Orpheus = Level 1 Angel = Level 4. Orpheus is level 1 since i forgot to level it back then, for some unknown reason i always used "Aspara" because of her Ice spells, Worked like a charm in the first block. |
Here's my Persona team.
Inugami (Level 14) Berith (Level 17) Jack Frost (Level 10) Zouchouten (Level 18) Orpheus (Level 10) Apsaras (Level 5) Unicorn (Level 11) Valkyrie (Level 13) Pyro Jack (Level 10) My primaries are Inugami, Berith, and Orpheus. |
I just beat 59th Floor boss with these Personas.
Inugami 13 Orpheus 4 Apsaras 5 Naga 20 Valkyrie 15 Yomotsu Shikome 12 Pyro Jack 17 Lilim 8 Only reason I have Lilim is because I tried that charm tactic someone on GameFAQs mentioned. It didn't work at all, probably because Lilim's level was too low, or maybe mine was, main character is only level 18. I usually keep Inugami equiped for the Auto-Tarukaja skill, then switch to Naga in battle. |
Any special reason why Yukari talks to you in hiragana when she's sick?
|
I just wrapped up the midterms. I'm still a little pissed you don't get the gift from Mitsuru unless you score top of the class. I would've assumed "pretty good" would've worked.
The difficulty definitely does jump up after reaching the second section of Tartarus. Currently level 11 with Orpheus at level 6 and an Archangel at 15 or some such. |
I'm starting to get really frustrated with that Emperor battle... If I must, I will grind to level 23 just to get a Persona that's nulls all Wind attacks. T_T
|
You're talking about the boss on Floor 59? Try this.
Spoiler:
|
Does Orpheus learn skills even after level 10 or what?
Because my Aspara doesnt have any more skills to learn. Because i might fuse her into a persona with Bufu and maybe something that would buff the party. |
Complaint about later characters:

That's why I like fusing them, since they wind up getting skills they normally wouldn't have on top of gaining new ones in their movepool (from both fused personas). Thanks for the Mad Bull tip, I did what Tritoch did too and it didn't get me anywhere. Edit: Forgot about something. Personas do learn things afterwards, but they don't appear in that ? list, but rather replace a move. For example Samael's Mudoon turned into Virus Breath, Dominion's Hamaon turned into some slash attack and countless others. You see it happen pretty often after fusions with decent or strong social links. The downside is that you can't see the kind of move you're getting, which is why I restarted after getting Virus Breath. Hits all enemies for 25% of their max HP + poison sounds nice, but at 40 SP, that's pretty expensive. later characters:

Has anyone else notice a similar thing?
it seems very easy for me to intercept a gold enemy if i am alone ie: separated the rest of my teammates somewhere else. I am going to try and see if the auto intercept works as well. |
It depends on the angle, not number of people. To get a gold, you have to approach from almost DIRECTLY BEHIND the enemy. Other mobs don't react fast and you can get them from the front and surprise them still. I've done that once with a gold, but I wouldn't recommend the method.
Number of people won't matter. Besides, it'd hedge your odds for killing the thing since they enjoy running. |

I managed to kill 9 or 10 of them like this, so it definitely works. Edit: Oh, forgot to mention that I use the 1h sword since it's got some damn nice range and it's fast. |
Oh, when that happened to me, my sense of getting behind them absolutely sucked. If you're really unsure about getting behind them, use a Bow or something. Just remember you have to be in range for attacking, but you don't have to be directly behind them anyway. Just make sure, though, that your characters have all the available physical attacks.
[edit] Yay! Finally beat the the boss on level 59!! And here's what I did:
|
Well, saying that shit has happened since the last time I posted would be an understatement. I've got to warn you all about the bastard on floor #135. I'm several bosses (Tartarus bosses) past him right now, but the battle is still fresh in my mind.
The Table's having you for dinner.:
Here's something that put a smile on my face. It's a Tartarus Floor Spoiler so beware: See above:

In every screenshot I see of this game the environment looks exactly the same. Is it actually like that while you're playing through, or is there a decent amount of variation? (I suppose since it's set in a school there's not the standard fire, ice, desert, etc., RPG areas...)

Arg! I HATE this game's full moon nights at times! Lost to the stupid second full moon night battle (and it was going well too, the f'ers got a lucky string of hits in on my character!) and now I have to go through all the text and crap again. So freaking annoying that this game doesn't allow one to skip story scenes with the Start button or something. Sorry needed to vent, while I yep you guessed it, am going through all the events that I'VE ALREADY GONE THROUGH ONCE BEFORE!
|
I think there's an option in the menu to skip through text based events.
|
Holy crap, if that's in there, I'm gonna /forehead slap myself for not seeing it when I originally turned off the vibration option. Thanks for the tipoff!

Ahh, so there's that "main character dies = instant game over" that the SMT series is famous for...this is my first SMT game so that was pleasant surprise, especially since it came during a generic battle which I had the Player Advantage in =/
Better I learn that lesson now than during an intense boss battle without saving ^^; Apparently us Final Fantasy folks have been having it too good for too long! In any case, I'm coming close to that 59th level boss everyone seems to have had a tough time with. I haven't had any hiccups with the bosses yet, mainly because I've been grinding quite a bit. I didn't know about the day before full moon stamina bonus though, I had actually avoided fighting on the day before a full moon so I wouldn't be tired going into that boss battle. Oh the things you learn from boards! |
