The quiz is back, revamped and with mostly new content. I didn't have time to go through it all, but it looks swell. Have fun!

Is all the old stuff still there?

I like how I checked it nearly every day since the last posts in this topic, waiting for new content, but I haven't checked it this whole weekend.

It's had a complete revamp: instead of getting a full list of every single song, you get one chosen at random and have to either guess on it or skip it in order to get the next one. Honestly, I like the old way a lot better because I'd often come up with what game the track came from after I already moved onto something else. Now in order to go back, you have to clear the list of skipped songs and then keep randomly picking them until you get the right one.

The song database has been reset as well; there were around 10 or so when I just ran through them quickly just now. I'm pretty sure one of them was also in the first version of VGMQ, but the others weren't. Your old VGMQ score is in your profile, though.

Yeah, I see now. And augh, one of the repeats I couldn't get before, why is it back now?

Hopefully he re-uses all of the old ones eventually, I'd love to still figure out just what they were from.

And congrats Draconis, you finished the old version first overall in score. I ended up finishing in 8th place.

Cool, but I seriously hope nobody will post the answers and allow people to cheat like it happened last time. This really turned me off...

Hmm, and I thought there was more before I left this morning. :(

Yeah, I also liked the old way, but I think DarkWolf went with this randomness in order to deter anybody trying to cheat. Hopefully, there won't be any cheating this time around, or at least it won't be easy, as I think the track order and numbering is different for each & every account.

This was a nice addition, lol.

He finally set it up so you can look back at your own answers. And for those who didn't notice, you can jump to any track if you save the ID number, which is good for people like me and CHz who figure it out at a later time.

Also, 8 new tracks today. I managed to figure out 7 of them (though 2 are still pending, but I'm sure it's because I typed up the titles a bit out of the ordinary). I wish every update went like this.

Yeah, that was a nice song update. I got five of them, and the other three rank from vaguely familiar to man I totally know this one.

I like that the answer list is back. I have a couple answers pending, and I noticed that it shows my answers and the official answers for those also. Did it always do that? I thought that, in the previous quiz, it wouldn't show the answer until it was actually graded.

The skip-to-track feature is also nice. I've already used it once. :o

I got all 8! If all updates went like this, I wouldn't have bald spots! =P

Also loving that answer list, and no, it wasn't like this. But at least you get to know if your guess was right/wrong beforehand, which is cool.

And that skip-to-track-thingamajig is sure handy.

Eight new tracks!

Got two of them. I expect everyone to get at least one, because it's dead easy. There's a third one that I'm absolutely positive I've heard before, but none of my hunches came through, so I'm going to have to do some digging.

I got two of this set of obscure ones. One, I'm sure most everyone here will know, and the other one is just a different segment of a song he used in the original quiz.

There's a third familiar one for me too, but I have no idea where to start looking and don't feel like digging just yet.

Man I know like none of the obscure tracks up there currently. Sounds like they came from PC and/or pre-NES systems; both of which I have very limited experience with.

By the way, does anyone have a list of all of the answers from the old quiz? I still some mps3 left over from it that I like but don't know what games they came from, and I'd like to be able to check out the soundtracks.

This set ain't easy. I managed to guess the same two CHz and TheKnightOfNee probably got, in addition to one from an oldie PC game.

I also have the mp3s for the old quiz, and the answers for the 245 tracks I got from the original 292. We could try to compile a full list as I, too, would like to know the answers for some. But I am not sure whether that would be a good idea, as some of the old material is still in use in the new quiz, and more is likely to be added.

Eight new songs added today, and he claims that they're a little easier than the last set. I will confirm this, as I got five of them.

Cool! Yeah, some are definitely (too) easy, but there's still half of the batch that left me clueless.

I also got 5 in this last set (and probably the same 5 as CHz), and there's a sixth that sounds kinda familiar.

Nice bunch, if a bit on the easy side. 7/8 for me. Didn't know the piano one. I am never good with piano tunes.

hey guys. since this is really the only good place on the internet for VGMQ discussion, i figured i should go ahead and join.

the last update was pretty nice, and i got 6/7 of the new tracks. it was enough to bump me up to 1st, but i'm sure Draconis will put me back in my place as soon as he sees that there's an update

also, i had a question for you, Draconis
is there any way you could host those preview tracks from the old quiz, or send them to me or something? i'm compiling a personal VGMQ collection for myself, so i've been trying to collect/rip as many full tracks as possible, but i forgot what some of the old tracks were. if you could me hook me up with those mp3s, you would be even more of a hero than you already are

I'm going through some of them now, and I can say I was pleasantly surprised when I nailed #4352.

I'm not even going to wait for a response. I'll leave this up for a while.

I will also thank you for that. I only had unguessed tracks from the original quiz saved, but I of course had forgotten some I guessed before. I'm gonna go through and label all the ones I know so I don't forget again.

Hopefully, the updates will come more frequently!!

As for the last update, I only got 3 ... and there awe two other that are driving me crazy...:(
