Okay, so I created a Cast Ranger today to try and play around with something different and I realize that I kinda suck at it...

I start with a rifle and notice the thing is 3/4 empty after clearing 2 rooms. I'm guessing I should be doing something different, maybe half melee - half ranged?

Also, I'm thinking about trying a different weapon. Do any of you know of any good ranged weapons that regen PP fast?

Dr. Uzuki Oct 29, 2006 04:52 AM

You guys are great! From 10 to 17, made force level three as well. It was a good day.

Anyone know what class level combinations make higher tier classes yet?

Lacerta Oct 29, 2006 04:57 AM

Fortefighter - HU 10
Fortegunner - RA 10
Fortecher - FO 10
Figunner - HU 5, RA 3
Guntecher - RA 5, FO 3
Wartecher - FO 5, HU 3
Protranser - HU 5, RA 5, FO 5

HU = Hunter
RA = Ranger
FO = Force

I suggest the Neudaiz weapons. They do a bit less damage than other ones, but they have a ton more available PP. They tend to look cooler too :D Basically it's them for PP, Moatoob for power and not as much PP, and Parum is somewhere in between.

Btw, I'm heading out of town until Wednesday evening, so I won't be on till then.

Inhert Oct 29, 2006 12:21 PM

I'm going online now so anyone want to meet me, I'm going to the juice stand in universe 16 while I'm eating XD

oh and I didn't know there where other classes ... can someone explain what they do?

Lacerta Oct 29, 2006 12:39 PM

They let you use S-Rank weapons and allow you to upgrade your PA further.

Fortefighter - Skill - 30 Bullet - 10 Tech - 0
Fortegunner - Skill - 10 Bullet - 30 Tech 0
Fortecher - Skill - 10 Bullet - 30 Tech - 30
Figunner - Skill - 30 Bullet - 20 Tech - 0
Guntecher - Skill - 10 Bullet - 30 Tech - 10
Wartecher - Skill - 20 Bullet - 10 Tech - 20
Protranser - Skill - 30 Bullet - 30 Tech - 0

Protranser is NOT allowed any S rank weapons at all.

Inhert Oct 29, 2006 12:46 PM

so I suppose that each classes let you use a specific type of weapon?

I'm currently using knuckles and will probably stay with those, so which tier classes are better for me? (I heard claw are not implanted in the game yet, I wonder if they are good)

Lacerta Oct 29, 2006 12:48 PM

S rank Knuckles are Fortefighter only, but Protranser, Wartecher and Figunner can use A ranks.

If youwant lv 30 PA though you need Fortefighter or Protranser

Inhert Oct 29, 2006 12:50 PM

and what is PA? XD

Lacerta Oct 29, 2006 12:51 PM

Photon Arts, your Skill/Bullet/TECHNICs that you use in battles.

Like Rising Strike, Burning Shoot, Resta, etc.

Inhert Oct 29, 2006 12:55 PM

oh lol ok XD (I'm not use to abbreviation in this game yet XD)

Manny Biggz Oct 29, 2006 01:00 PM

I'm sitting at the juice bar now. Universe 16.

Lacerta Oct 29, 2006 01:00 PM

At level 11 and 21 your Skill and Bullet PAs get an extension I believe, for additional hits.

TECHNICs just cover more area?

Lipid Oct 29, 2006 01:15 PM

<-- Katia lv15 Newman Force(2) on PC/PS2

Is it worth going to Force(10) for a fortecher? I dont have the patience to level more than 1 type so I dont want to split it :|

Lacerta Oct 29, 2006 01:28 PM

Having level 30 TECHNICs and Bullets, and S-Rank Rod/Wand/Bow/Card seems very appealing.

Other than that... no?

Inhert Oct 29, 2006 02:37 PM

well i just did a dragon run with Manny ^^ it was fun but we were only 3 (2 lv 10 and many lv 17) to it took a while and we got 2 death ... but it was fun XD and i learn to not return to lobby when we do dragon run XD

I heard that you can grind your weapon? what does it do? and how to do it?

Kenichi Oct 29, 2006 02:49 PM

How the heck does everyone get so much meseta? I'm almost lvl 9 and I'm still using ALL my starting items, simply because I can't afford anything else. All my money goes to monomates pretty much. And it doesn't help that I spent 800 on Resta which I can't use. I only have 1000 meseta right now and I'm about to use it to stock up on more monomates.

*misses the days when enemies and boxes dropped weapons*

I apologize for sticking this question right in the middle of a discussion here, but I need some real help.

Here's my problem, I'm a huge RPG fan however I don't know whether to get this game or not for there are STILL no reviews on the darn game. But just so you know I'm not planning on playing it online at all and am only going to be playing it offline. So is it still worth the purchase? And other then the online community what else would I be missing out on?

Along your travels you will find Grinder Base X (where X is for the item's rank), you will need to have a [B] Grinder X (for the rank) although I am not for certain on the board's actual name...

Anywho, you stuff the board into your Partner Machine and then try to synth a grinder + y (where Y is the grinder's + value). When you grind your weapon it increases the PP and attacking stat for it. Grinding is fun and the +7 or +8 grinders are relatively cheap.

However if you fail, it will break and disappear forever. It should also be noted the +stat on the Grinder does not mean it will go to that + value, it is just the chance of success it has. +1 is lowest and +10 is highest. If you want a (10) item you will have to use 10 Grinders, I believe. Your luck for the day also determines whether you will succeed or not.

Well, completed mission rewards tend to give me enough meseta to cover my fees, and dragon runs tend to rake in the meseta as well. B Rank De Ragon runs give you 1050 Meseta and 11 job points if you S-Rank it.

The single player is basically your typical 40-hour action RPG, somewhat like .hack. If that kind of thing appeals to you then it might be worth your time.

On a sidenote, if you're low on funds, I think you can just download it for the single player if you're okay with that kind of thing.

Slayer X Oct 29, 2006 04:28 PM

Alright cool. So even though the multiplayer takes place many years into the future it's not a direct continuation of the offline game right? Then perhaps I'll give it a download. Especially with FFXII soon to come out, I don't think I'll be playing for too long, or at least right away. Thanks for the help ^^

You can download it for the multiplayer too ;p -- Just need to pay the $10/mo and you get an extra 15 days free for the 1st payment. No CD-Keys ftw.

Slayer X Oct 29, 2006 04:45 PM

YAY!!! NO CD KEYS!!!

As for the multiplayer, that's good to know. However I'm against paying to play a game that I've purchased (even though I'm downloading this one). And even if I wasn't against it, I work at a video game store and I play almost every game that comes through the door so I would never spend enough time online to make it worth while. (Own/played Ragnarok, FFXI & WOW... never got far in any of them) But I'll keep that information in mind if I get the time or money ^^;

Inhert Oct 29, 2006 07:05 PM

arg a little dilemma for me XD I just made a new char (a beast) and I kind of really like her now XD and since I play my cast as an hunter and that beast are better for hunter I might take this new char for my main now XD only things is my other char is lv 11 and have some money on it...

so is it possible to send money or item to other char on our account?

Dr. Uzuki Oct 29, 2006 07:17 PM

I think there's a box in your room to do this, I know it does items, not sure about cash.
