Weren't the spiders weak against fire (And therefore took a lot more damage) last time I attacked them?

The unmovable stubborn Feb 26, 2009 06:21 AM

Hope Bob has some dramatic last words in mind

shit, I forgot about the vulnerability, yeah. sorry, fixing now

Fluffykitten McGrundlepuss Feb 26, 2009 06:53 AM

A combination of his shield and defensive mobility feats make Bob harder to hit when he's running away than Gabe, he might yet survive...

FatsDomino Feb 26, 2009 01:14 PM

Hey Deni, maybe doggy think spider swarm can be num nums, yes? :)

The unmovable stubborn Feb 26, 2009 01:22 PM

Ehh, the dog's mostly useful only for setting up flanks and it's a bit late for that I expect

Scent of a Grundle Feb 26, 2009 01:24 PM

Is it even possible to flank a swarm of spiders?

The unmovable stubborn Feb 26, 2009 01:29 PM

Although it seems silly, the swarm rules do not expressly forbid it.

The swarm can also be knocked prone. Somehow.

Scent of a Grundle Feb 26, 2009 03:45 PM

I'd complain that that is completely illogical, but then again we do have a feminine elf who only understands dead people, armor that routinely shoots out confetti, a big guy who likes to go and fight cows for fun(i was really hoping that he would try to lick his new pick when he got it, because licking random things seems to be Arg's hobby), robot snakes that like eating rubies, and some bartender what thinks he can be helpful in a fight wielding only a frying pan and some kitchen knives. I think that's enough to justify a bunch of spiders falling down. Yeah. Riiight.

Sarag Feb 26, 2009 05:09 PM

Look, it's simple. We just need to roll to see who has the biggest feet and they can go walking over the swarm.

Fluffykitten McGrundlepuss Feb 27, 2009 07:41 AM

Just as a matter of interest, what modifier do those spiders get to hit on an opportunity attack? I thought a total AC of 24 would have saved me. :(

Also, it'll be really embarrasing if we get killed by spiders, having beaten a dragon, a troll, an orc warlord and whatever else we've murdered our way past so far.

The unmovable stubborn Feb 27, 2009 07:45 AM

They get +10.

vs. Reflex

Zergrinch Feb 27, 2009 08:15 AM

A bunch of spiders are stronger than a juvenile dragon. Who would have thought :tpg:

The unmovable stubborn Feb 27, 2009 08:21 AM

Well, the dragon didn't have an aura which hurt you and then slowed you down so you couldn't escape the aura

The bastards...

How are we all off for Action Points at the moment by the way?

The unmovable stubborn Feb 27, 2009 08:43 AM

Everybody's still got a point since this is the first fight of the day and all :tpg:

Fluffykitten McGrundlepuss Feb 27, 2009 08:47 AM

Oh yeah, it seems like this day's gone on quite a while already.

Drinking a healing potion is a minor action right?

Zergrinch Feb 27, 2009 08:47 AM

Just curious - how far do these D&D auras extend?

Yup.

Of course two swarms get to beat on you before you get to take any actions so hopefully Deni heals you up on his turn because Sleep might be the only thing holding off a TPK at this point :(

Depends on the monster. In the spider swarm's case, it's only a radius of one square around each swarm group. With your ridiculously-high-level monsters the aura radius goes as high as 20 squares.

knkwzrd Feb 27, 2009 10:15 AM

Of course. Not eaten by a dragon, not cut in half in some majestic mid air axe swing, but spider-aura'd. Pfff.

Sarag Feb 27, 2009 10:37 AM

I feel kind of miffed, excepting I forgot that Pang has been trying to get us in this situation the entire time.

wvlfpvp Feb 27, 2009 10:45 AM

Granted, this is about the first time that the dice have gone overwhelmingly in Pang's favor.

The unmovable stubborn Feb 27, 2009 10:47 AM

a +10 to hit means the dice don't need to be in my favor

wvlfpvp Feb 27, 2009 10:51 AM

Well, that too.

FatsDomino Feb 27, 2009 10:51 AM

I believe it's time soggy collapsed another wall. That is if he is able to stabilize.

Don't forget they have 80 hp each, resist half of all melee and ranged damage, plus automatically attack anything in their aura with that 2d6 fuckoff free strike.

This is all your fault, though, so don't you complain.

Oh yeah, and a great big 21 AC with attacks against Reflex, good job.
