Well...hopefully they don't do anything ridiculous like after 1000 vs. matches to unlock some character

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but weren't there only, essentially, 19-20 characters that weren't considered clones in Melee's line-up? That is, omitting Ganondorf, Dr. Mario, Luigi, Falco, Marth (or, Roy), Pichu, and Young Link? We're at 24 confirmed characters for Brawl, with not a single clone, yet. Considering the boost in roster size we saw from the original to Melee, I think we can logically deduce that, excluding clones, there will be roughly 30-35ish (probably closer to 30) original characters. However, that's also including (likely) returning characters such as Captain Falcon (or, Ganondorf, though I think he'll get an original move set this time around), Jigglypuff, Ness and Luigi. I personally feel Marth (or, Roy) and Mewtwo are a mystery -- in terms of their odds of returning -- and I doubt we'll be seeing Mr. Game & Watch again, sadly.

It never fails to amaze how Smash Brothers threads bring out the most stupid, thoughtless and idiotic responses and assumptions.

YouTube - Wii Dairanto Smash Brothers X TV Spot(Japan)
Japanese commercial. If anyone sez there's a Japanese or NA delay, this is proof they're bullshitting. |
Eh, don't listen to them. They just say that as they want more characters. Which btw for the last time, may not make it to the Brawl game. And to be honest. I'm happy with what Brawl has.
Like it has Final Smashes, my fav new comer Ike and vet; Link, now Sothe (as an assist trophy) and many other features. I don't think I can be any happier. |
Perhaps they're purposefully NOT revealing every single character in the game.
I mean, what fun would it be to not have any surprises? |
|
Also the advert that.. advertises the online mode has some sort of tranny in it. :cmb:

Nice video :). Seems that Japan's now trying to pull all the stops to promote 24th's release. And I suppose that the U.S is going to do similar advertisement as well.

Anyways, the trailer looks "alright" to me... first one's way better >_> Quote:
Haha... you said tranny! |
|
And what's more. We start another round of updates tomorrow at 11 p.m :).
|
They should just stop with the updates and have this on the page: "Everything will be revealed on the 24th of this month! Hope you enjoy the game!"

Hold on here. I think in the second one there may just be a confirmation of a BRAND NEW ITEM!!! If you look to the left of the Lylat Cruiser Scene in the second commercial. On the second time, it appears to be a Chaos Emerald. AND I'm thinking that this has a Play with Super Sonic. Or it could be a brand new Item totally (It's very apparent 5 seconds in). With the Dragoon in play, I wouldn't be surprised to see the chaos Emeralds being brought into play.
|
For the Chaos Emerald. I think it has to do with Sonic's Final Smash attack. Something like this?

Let's hope we get something cool for the update. We still gotta last two weeks from this Thursdays, which will go down in history as Needlessly Huge Spoiler Day 2008. |

First Commercial: - When Princess Peach uses her Peach Bomber Attack, instead of an explosion, there will be Rose Petals that appear. - Lightbeam Sword glows Blue and is Straight (Not Curved) when Idle (That is, when someone isn't attacking) - On Pit's Stage, Giga Bowser has the ability to smash the floating platforms. - The WarioWare Stage shows Japanese... Hiranaga (?) Text when the stage changes. - Giant Metroid is an Item. - At the Pokemon Stage where Groudon Appears, the player controlling Squirtle has the name "zenigame". This is the only time in the commercial that a name different from the default appears. Its significance is unknown. - Price for the game is 6,800 Yen. Second Commercial: - Bananas are an Item. - As with Melee, the Pokemon Gym Stage shows a video of the character on a screen in the background. - Tiny Bowser confirms the Mushroom Item is returning. - Yoshi's Classic Stage from the N64 Smash Bros is returning. - Kirby's Link Hat uses Link's Bow power. Third Commercial: - Oddly, it shows all three of the Trainer's pokemon on the stage at the same time, following Yoshi. This probably was done specifically for the commercial, unless the ability to have all three of them on the stage at once is possible. While this is shown as true for the Final Smash, what they were doing right now seemed different. - Ike is carrying a large Present, probably a variation on the Wooden Box Item. - Diddy is shown lying on his side for several seconds. I'm not sure if this may be a taunt, or specifically made for the commercial, or something else. - On the Pokemon Stage, an Snowflake Icon appears on the back of the stage (On the video screen) to indicate the 'winter' theme of the stage appearing. Yeah, not much new I could find. As far as the Chaos emerald goes, I looked all over the second commercial but I couldn't find it. |
