Well not only that, but a FAN is the one who broke the shit down using logic. Not like someone from creative gave a hint out. Some common fan taped the promo and broke it down. I mean christ.

Winter Storm Oct 24, 2007 06:23 PM

Yea I just lost all respect I had for Batista. Fuck that.

I saw that breakdown(it was on youtube). Even before that though, it was pretty obvious. If she wants to make big returns a secret, promos like that need to be left out.

mortis Oct 24, 2007 10:40 PM

She's angry because she (or Vince or such) allowed televised hints of Jericho's return to show hence making it impossible to be a surprise? I mean, seriously, SOMEONE higher-up (Vince?!?!?) had to OK those being put on T.V.

If they are going to put those stipulations into the writer's contracts (to the point that they basically don't own anything (how does THAT relate to Steph's complaint?), and can't say or do anything, let alone reuse ideas (wait a second, isn't that basically how things are in pro-wrestling? Idea's are reused? If not, shouldn't the Sandman has sued Austin long ago for the identity of a guy who drinks beer and curses?)), they should just all leave. And I wouldn't be surprised if they are all thinking about it. The money can't be THAT good...

I heard that Batista had some unkind things to say. I didn't think they were THAT bad or cold. Maybe Batista should take a note from a real man/husband in Jeff Jarrett.

dagget Oct 24, 2007 11:10 PM

You know how that would look during an ex-WWE writer's interview for someplace else whereever it may be.

"So it says here on your resume that you used to be a writer for WWE?"
"Yeah, it was pretty wild."
"So what type of stuff did you write?"
"I... can't tell you that."
"What are some of your writing credits for them?"
"Oh..l well.. they're not my ideas."
"But you said you wrote for them?"
"Yes."
"So you wrote for them, but you didn't actually create anything on your own?"
"Well... yes? I mean no! I mean..."
"Next."
"Fuck. :("

The writer's aren't going to be able to get a job anywhere else if the contracts get revised like that. Besides, Vince and Steph are ones to talk since DX is a rip-off of nWo.

mortis Oct 24, 2007 11:56 PM

Like I said, if the writers were wise, they should all up and leave. Put Steph in her place (or at least in a position or put up or shut up).

Speaking of put up or shut up, seems Michaels shut up Vince. A few weeks back Vince rips Shawns apart, but ol' HBK put him in his place.

And Matt got busted open hardway and bleed pretty badly. They aren't sure if he'll be able to make the MVP match (their feud/match may keep going for a year as each man keeps getting injured just before a big PPV encounter).

dagget Oct 25, 2007 02:27 AM

Yeah I saw that, 35 stitches to close the wound. Jesus. It was bad enough to actually stop the match.

Rofl I heard about that thing where Shawn just owned Vince. It made me full of lulz.

Winter Storm Oct 25, 2007 10:40 PM

Good ol' Earl Hebner. He's now screwed two of wrestlings biggest stars. LOL

Slash Oct 26, 2007 12:56 AM

Jim Cornette has said the one thing all Wrestling fans have been dying to say!

"Mike Tenay...you should just SHUT UP!"

Wished they brought back the old 3/4 style WCW lineup that way Tenay wasn't that annoying because Schiavone did all the talking.

Winter Storm Oct 26, 2007 08:37 PM

Yea but that was the one time I liked the guy. He stood up for Sting. I've never seen an announcer grow big enough balls to do what he had done. I am pretty sure JC was going to say that Tenay was going to be Stings partner lol. Hence, I smell a GM heel turn coming soon.

Did Nash die his hair for character persona purposes??? I know he cannot be THAT old.

Eh, I'd have been happy if they'd have left both of them off. Shiavone just struck me as a corporate hype-man who did what Eric Bishoff told him to do in his ear and was equally annoying to hear. Nitro was downright atrocious to listen to, aside from Heenan (whose work with Gorilla Monsoon is rightfully legendary...Just watch the 1992 or 1993 Royal Rumbles). Jim Ross deserves a lot of credit for making Raw a much more watchable and entertaining show at the time (every RAW wasn't the "Greatest Ever!", as Shiavone normally claimed with Nitro) and his calls ("Stone COLD! STONE COLD!", "Business is about to pick up." and anything that had the word 'slobberknocker' in it) had much more authenticity to them.

I would have loved to have seen Ross or Joey Styles cover the NWO angle.

But no one...No one was as shitty and fake as Vince McMahon (except maybe Rob Bartlett) as a face announcer. I didn't mind when I was 12-13, but now it hurts to watch those matches with the sound on. The sudden transformation to "Mr. McMahon" was welcome for both storylines and the announcing team (read: it signaled the end of "face" Vince behind the booth).

SuperSonic Oct 27, 2007 11:54 PM

Guess I'll start off the predictions for Cyber Sunday:

Divas Halloween Costume Contest - What's this? Something that we can't vote on? Unreal...don't really care about this one but I'll go with Candice on this one.

Mysterio vs. Finlay - Stipulation that wins: No DQ. Finlay will beat the crap out of Mysterio...if I kept up with Smackdown, I'd probably say a little more.

MVP vs. Matt Hardy - Stipulation that wins: Mixed Martial Arts Match. Matt Hardy will just barely win this one.

Triple H vs. Umanga - Stipulation that wins: Street Fight. Triple H will get busted open, but he will end up destroying Umanga. Expect the sledgehammer to make an appearance.

ECW Championship Match - CM Punk vs. ???. Superstar that gets voted - John Morrison. Everyone wants to see it again, so why not? Big Daddy V doesn't deserve it, and honestly I wish he'd go back to being the world largest love machine, Viscera. The Miz...well, he sucks and he'll probably interfere in this costing Morrison the title. CM Punk retains via DQ.

World Heavyweight Championship Match: Batista vs. The Undertaker - Special Guest Referee - Stone Cold Steve Austin. Expect Santino to get involved and get his ass kicked, then JBL will get involved since he wasn't voted. Batista will retain the title by a pin.

WWE Championship Match - Randy Orton vs. ???. Superstar that gets voted - HBK. Orton has been getting the Sweet Chin Music for the past three weeks now, much like Cena gets his ass kicked before a PPV. However, HBK will win the title via pinfall.

Oh,and since Hardy and Kennedy won't get voted, you know what'll happen:

Intercontinental Championship Match - Jeff Hardy vs. Mr. Kennedy. Not much to say about this one. Hardy will pull off the win and retain the title.

1992 Royal Rumble had to be some of the funniest stuff I've heard from Heenan.

1992 Royal Rumble -
Heenan: I never thought I'd say this, but thank you Rowdy. It's a kilt. It's not a skirt, it's a kilt.
*Flair puts figure 4 on Jake the Snake, Piper kicks both of them*
Monsoon: And Piper takes it to both of them.
Heenan: Why you no good creep! You skirt-wearing freak! It's not a kilt, it's a skirt!

1993 Royal Rumble -

Heenan: No! No no no! NO! Aw, mm...damn it!
Monsoon: Now THAT was perfect.
Heenan: That's not fair to Flair! That's not FAIR to FLAIR!

My predictions

Cyber Sunday...

Spoiler:
WILL SUCK LIKE EVERY WWE PPV CAUSE THE WRITERS BLOW!

That and Jerichos appearance, if they even do it, will be fucking gold and be the ONLY thing that saves the PPV

Winter Storm Oct 28, 2007 12:05 AM

Hehe, Kennedy is 0/2 against Jeff.. you know what they say about that third time. Mr.I make fun of cancer victims vs. The Undertaker - that match is going to be fucked for sure. Matt is probably not going to make the PPV and if he does, he'll be at a physical disadvantage.

agreed. Too horribly predictable unless the fans really fuk up the vote in which I hope it will happen but won't.

mortis Oct 28, 2007 02:51 AM

So, predictions.

Diva Halloween whatever: I don't care. But fine, Candice. Wait, she's out, right? Um, hmmmm, um, Mickie James then.

Mysterio/Finley - Finley.

MVP/Hardy - Hardy by DQ, MMA.

Triple H/Umaga - Triple H. Pinfall. Cage.

Punk/??? - Morrison. Pinfall. Punk is in the outhouse and he was rumored to lose the title once Morrison returned anyway.

Undertaker/Batista - Main Event. Undertaker. Austin counts out Batista. If they had brains in their skulls, the angle would be payback for Batista costing Austin his career way back at SS2003.

Orton/???? - Orton. Pinfall over HBK.

Hardy/Kennedy - Kennedy. Pinfall. 3rd times a charm.

Speaking of Hardy (but in this case, Matt), he is said to be going for the PPV, but they are going to be careful given his injury. Batista should be able to turn heel indefinitely due to his heartless comments in his book (and might just do that after losing to Taker, again).

dagget Oct 28, 2007 07:35 AM

I heard the person incharge of what gets put on USA wants Jericho's return halted until a Monday night. (She's also the person who fucking cancelled Dresden Files which was Sci-Fii's #1 show.. because it wasn't getting the demographic they hoped for...) but Vince keeps ignoring her requests...

Also USA keeps sending Vince and WWE ideas for Raw, which get trash and tossed away. Why? They're afraid that someone else's idea will be better than theirs... GG

Also, Cyber Sunday will be ass, as every PPV's been. People in charge of creative writing really need to get that bug of out their ass and start trying to get back to the way things were before. Start writing shit that meant somethin and tried to grab ratings instead of the same old crap that insults the people who watch it.

Shit, forgot about that. I'll go with you on this one and also go with Mickie James.

DBCE Slayer Oct 28, 2007 05:29 PM

I'm just not gonna watch the PPV this time. Cause the same old shit always happens and I'm sick of it.

DarkMageOzzie Oct 28, 2007 06:49 PM

So.... guys. Is TNA worth watching? I haven't watched wrestling in like two months since I got fed up with WWE. The only reason I watched it as long as I did after Wrestlemania is because I was obsessed with Mickie James. Then they jobbed her into oblivion.

I used to watch TNA, but I kept forgetting it was on and some people have told me it's gotten pretty bad now. Is that true?

Slash Oct 28, 2007 06:56 PM

Yeah...wrestling has basically returned to the WWF-WCW Wars.

WWE getting some TNA talent (rarely)

and TNA getting lots of WWE releases

From the last show, it's starting to appear very WWE-esque(lots of interferences and people being screwed, etc) (my dad used to be a huge fan, but he stopped being one because "I'm tired of people ruining good matchs".)but the wrestlers are allowed to be more athletic so you'll see more exciting matchs when compared to WWE.

khan0plinger Oct 29, 2007 02:21 AM

Well I ordered Cyber Sunday and I have to say I was moderatly pleased that I did. The matches were actually entertaining to watch even though storyline wise ...nothing was advanced. However isn't this a primary complaint about WWE? People bitch WWE focus's too much on the storylines and not the actual wrestling product yet when WWE holds a pay per view with very good matches, people then counter-bitch that nothing "Exciting storyline wise" happens. Wrestling fans are so funny.

I didn't expect Chris Jericho to show up last night mainly because WWE or any other wrestling company wouldnt be stupid enough to have such a big return unannounced like that on a pay per view. Seriously, when was the last time on a pay per view that a big return or major debut happened that people didnt expect? For PPV returns, WWE ALWAYS announces it in some form. If its on RAW, it doesnt matter that much because its free for most people and true fans will watch and see it. Can you imagine the buyrate of Cyber Sunday if that cryptic messege about Jericho (supposedly about him, nothing has been 100% confirmed really) said something along the lines of "Second Coming this Sunday" or whatever?

mortis Oct 29, 2007 03:48 AM

So, yeah, I barely got much of anything right...

Spoiler:

Rey beat Finley in a stretcher match?! I guess they might be thinking Rey/Batista in the near future and have to build Rey Rey up.

How did Miz win of the three? Seriously. I can kinda see Morrison not winning-people may be tired of him (and the series of matches where some are great and others not-so-great), but if he wasn't going to win, then Big Daddy V definitely should have.

At least I was right about Kennedy.

Not really going to count the MVP match given the fact that they changed gears at the PPV. Kane beating MVP is sorta old news, although peeps sure were pissed about the count out finish.

Guess Orton/HBK is going to roll into Survivor Series. I am a bit surprised because I thought for sure HHH was going to face Orton, and have a ten year re-union of the 'We love you Bret' sendoff...with HHH taking the role of Bret. I guess though HBK will work in an ironic twist of fate.

Nothing to say about Trips-Umaga.

Surprised Batista won it. But then again, I guess I should have considered his book which had just been released. He lucked out on fan reaction. While he wasn't booed out of the building, that may have been due to the hometown advantage. Taker should win the title though. It just works in so many ways. Taker's last (and hopefully long) title reign that he was suppose to get months ago. Batista's heel turn that was suppose to happen oh so long ago. Perhaps there will be a rematch at Survivor Series. Then again, maybe they are going the route of Batista-Rey Rey (although if they are smart, they will take my advice and save that for AFTER Batista loses to Taker, and starts his heel turn).

Spoiler:
If I remember correctly, Survivor Series is being planned on Orton and Umaga vs Triple H and Shawn Michaels. I think that with even Teddy Hart gone, they may try and move forward with the new Hart Foundation angle. I just don't see Triple H turning face at all anymore. Especially since Orton is heel and has the belt right now.
