Alright, I saw the baby commercial. What the fuck.
|
That baby commercial freaked me out. Especially when the baby's tears went back into its eyes. Scary!

Playstation 3: That Rubix Cube had it coming
Playstation 3: Is this Drakengard. I want to grab Resistence as my launch title, but I'm waiting to see if any stores might sell it a little cheaper than $59.99, or if any of them are offering a bonus for buying it. |
You think that's bad. Anything that costs 59.99 over there costs 69.99 here, and exchange is only like what? .07 - .10 cents on the dollar? I'm not complaining but when I'm getting Gears of War tomorrow for 79.99... man does it hurt.
|
You people realize that Sega and the like have put out far worse ads in the past, right? Infernal's journal has one such example, with some chick in a bikini who played the gear gear and grew a pair of hairy nuts.
This isn't anything insulting or strange. I don't see what the issue is here. |
You can't stand out from the crowd unless you do something different, and as weird as Sony's adds might be, I'll take them any day over Microsoft's bland Jump In adds for the 360, or past PlayStation 1 adds like polygon head or whatever the hell his name was.
Funny part is that everyone blames Sony for doing something different and everyone else blames them if they do something the same as someone else so it doesn't matter what the adds looked like cause there'd still be someone to complain about it. That's just how it is. |
I like the PS3 ads, they're really unique, especially the baby one. They are weird but these weird commercials are what gets stuck in people's heads, its the kind of commercials that people remember. It's what gets people talking, that's what sony wants.
I hate the PS3 bus stop ads though, I keep thinking they're spiderman 3 ads. |

It was classic. It started with a guy belching "SEGA!" followed by 30 seconds of screaming death metal. "WAAAAAAAGGHHHH WA WA WA RABABABA RABA RAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!" I really don't see what the fuss is about with the PS3 ads. It mimics what Sony's been doing with the PS2 (and probably PS1) for years now. It's just some faux-mtv look at a system apparently so powerful that inanimate objects cry with emotion, and rubic cubes explode upon impact. watch grubdog go nuts over the wii commercials and immediately dismiss everything else as inferior and "d00med" |
I still think they should expand on these commercials and implement the ads they have on their www.playb3yond.com website. Yeah, they may be too long to actually air on TV, but you have to admit - these ones are just...clever. They really make me want a PS3.
|
|
I think the best one they did so far was the tv spot that take the concept of the rubic cube from playb3yond website.
here it is ^^ |
I love those comercials. The third place just appealed to me, and these new ones are just as weird. Props to Sony for continuing those.
That said, I like all sorts of weird ads, and the Xbox one where a baby is shot out of the womb, grows old and slams into a grave was brilliant too. |

I have to say these current adds are much more interesting than the "kid leaves his apartment and goes to the roof with lots of other gamers" add. I found that boring. Aren't the children supposed to go downstairs and walk the street to the electronics shop? Maybe it's air delivery LOL. |

I think this is the one that Kilroy is talking about.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=-14MKb1WnmM It's pretty funny. |
The best fucking part is when the baby bursts right through the window. That had me on the floor laughing.
|
Alright, that commercial IS hillarious but I still think all these companies need to start making ads that show the consoles doing something. :P
|
Not sure if someone has posted this but here it is anyway, http://www.gametrailers.com/player.p...pe=wmv&pl=game
That's probably the best PS3 commercial I've seen, it like a science documentary and it communicates the technology of the PS3 really well, explaining the capacity of blue-ray, the power of the cell, AND showing actual gameplay. It's just really well done and very professional, i love it. |
Umm...I didn't see any gameplay footage. Isn't that just the regular old rubix cube commercial? Unless something's wrong with my computer...
Or are you talking about the ads that are on www.playb3yond.com? They have the ones that talk about the cell processor and the capacity of the blue-ray. They have more in development as well, so I check back there every once in a while to see if they have any of their new ones that are supposedly 'coming soon'. |
Oh, sorry it's the one in that page called play b3yond-capacity. For some reason it linked to the rubiks cube one. yea, what you described is probably what i'm talking about. The play b3yond ones are brilliant.

Right, so I finally got photos of that little clock trick in the XMB.
http://www.ps3blogi.fi/images/ps3_55_1163110003.jpg Noon, it's bright and colorful. http://www.ps3blogi.fi/images/ps3_56_1163110347.jpg Evening, a lot darker. I think this was around 7 pm. http://www.ps3blogi.fi/images/ps3_57_1163110394.jpg Midnight, everyone is asleep. Source is my entry on playing F1, Lair, Ridge Racer 7 and the full version of Resistance. All in finnish I'm afraid, but at least you have the pictures. http://www.ps3blogi.fi/images/ps3_78_1163117151.jpg TANK! |
Finnish. I need to learn that language.
Seriously, your blog is the most awesome thing on the intertubes right now. |
Those little clips on the play beyond site are awesome. Thanks for sharing the link guys.
The rubiks cube ad is kind of random though. |
Isn't a review for Genji 2 like out already? Gamespot and IGN gave it a score of below 7. Pretty understandable since it's basically another hack and slash with puzzle solving, now in pretty visuals!
