Since this is now a Twilight Princess thread

I sort of agree that expectations for a game can ruin it for some people, but having high expectations doesn't affect the quality of the game itself. Twilight Princess had alot of problems and even with low expectations you should be disappointed, because it is a flawed game. I bought it for my brother without the intention of even playing it, I don't think it's possible to have lower expectations about a game than I did, and I was still disappointed in the end.

TP's biggest problem was that it failed to maintain a consistent level of quality from beginning to end. Just look at the entire second half of the game, it's like they just stopped caring. The plot and character development were nonexistent, Zelda and Ganondorf were barely even relevant, the dungeons were out of place, poorly designed and the objectives were the goofy sort of kind that belong in the first half of the game (see: making soup for a yeti, the western village, and the worst dungeon ever, the chicken ranch in the sky), and let's not forget the utterly forgettable score and LACK OF A MAGIC METER WHAT THE FUCK IT'S ON THE BACK OF THE BOX NINTENDO. Juxtapose that with the first half of the game (which was sex) and I don't see how you can't be disappointed.

If anything, TP is the opposite of Ocarina of Time which started out slow and got much better in the second half. It ends on a high note which allows it to mask its flaws whereas Twilight Princess is amazing until it starts going downhill real fast after the desert temple and never recovers. The beginning of any game is what gets you hooked but it's just a warm-up: the meat of the game doesn't start until after halfway through, and the end is what you're going to remember a few years down the line. Given another delay, TP could have been the best game ever, but they rushed it and it turned out badly.

Also, Twilight Princess had amazing sound effects. It's the only game that has ever made me think fuck, this game has great sound effects.

I am looking forward to Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

There will always be posters like that. Like they want to compare such things like graphics, game features and various other garbage talk. And then it just gets into a measly argument which goes on for several topic pages.

^^; Since when did you think that this became a Twilight Princess thread? This was never a Twilight Princess thread to begin with. This was only discussions on Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Getting back on topic, that slightly old update with the music from Sonic the Hedgehog 3 was pretty cool. Also, that Coin Launcher game sounds interesting. At least it looks more entertaining than that Lottery game from Melee.

Hey Zeta26, guess who is in charge of this thread? Not you that's for sure so do stop member moderating or I'll start handing you some lovely infractions. =)

I think you misread his post.

Seeing as how they didn't have a special update for Christmas, one for New Years might also be expecting a bit much. Either way, it's been a while since we've had a real update, so I'm assuming (hoping) a decent one that might strike discussion will occur soon.

Update - December 28
Normal Items - Dragoon

http://www.smashbros.com/de/items/im...14_071228a.jpg

It is said that if you collect all three parts, you will complete the legendary Air Ride machine...

http://www.smashbros.com/de/items/im...14_071228b.jpg

There it is! Dragoon Part A!

http://www.smashbros.com/de/items/im...4_071228c1.jpghttp://www.smashbros.com/de/items/im...4_071228c2.jpghttp://www.smashbros.com/de/items/im...4_071228c3.jpg

It’s broken into three parts:
Dragoon Part A, the nosecone...
Dragoon Part B, the hull...
and Dragoon Part C, the tail.

http://www.smashbros.com/de/items/im...14_071228d.jpg

Gather all three and the Dragoon is formed!

http://www.smashbros.com/de/items/im...14_071228e.jpg

Target in sight!

http://www.smashbros.com/de/items/im...14_071228f.jpg

FIRE!!!

Of course, given the amount of preparation required, it boasts tremendous firepower! If it strikes you, consider it a one-hit KO.

The battle for this item is hot.

http://www.smashbros.com/de/items/im...14_071228g.jpg

When you get Dragoon parts, these icons appear!

Hit an opponent who has one of the Dragoon parts to make him drop it like a fumble. You also drop the parts when you lose a life. If you want to get a part in hand, then beat on your opponent!

The same can be said for Smash Balls—those, too, are items that everyone really wants badly, so the scramble can be quite funny!

The joy of finally getting all three. Your enemies doing whatever they can to flee. It’s like we’ve added a delicious new spice, so I hope you’ll enjoy it during multiplayer matches.

Update #2 - Share

I have a request for the many people who want to play over Wi-Fi! The first time you play the Wi-Fi modes, please be sure to set the Smash Service to ON.

http://www.smashbros.com/de/gamemode...05_071228a.jpg

Here in the Options...

http://www.smashbros.com/de/gamemode...05_071228b.jpg

You’ll find "Smash Service."

If you don’t turn this Smash Service on, you won’t receive any data! I ask that you take great care not to forget this step.

<Data Sent by Nintendo>

http://www.smashbros.com/de/gamemode...05_071228c.jpg

Choose Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.

In order to receive data sent by Nintendo, you need to first choose Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection mode.

http://www.smashbros.com/de/gamemode...05_071228d.jpg

You connect without incident. When you confirm the message...

http://www.smashbros.com/de/gamemode...05_071228e.jpg

Data appears in the applicable mode!

Things that have "Download" written on them were sent by Nintendo.

Now, downloaded data from Nintendo will gradually be overwritten, so there’s no need to worry about your Wii’s memory running out.

<Data Sent by a Friend>

http://www.smashbros.com/de/gamemode...05_071228f.jpg

Whoa. A lot of stuff arrived. Nice.

http://www.smashbros.com/de/gamemode...05_071228g.jpg

When something arrives, you’ll get a message on your Wii Message Board.

http://www.smashbros.com/de/gamemode...05_071228h.jpg

When you start up the game...

http://www.smashbros.com/de/gamemode...05_071228i.jpg

The data will be in its respective places.

Now, since this data comes from your friends, this is where you have to watch your remaining save memory! If the remaining free space on your Wii System Memory is running low, you won’t be able to receive the data. Move old data to an SD card or erase it.

http://www.smashbros.com/de/gamemode...05_071228j.jpg

You can also send data to multiple friends at once.

It’s difficult to put the joy of being able to exchange snapshots and stages into words. I certainly hope you will all enjoy it.

You have got to be kidding me. This looks pretty fun, actually. I'm just completely shocked they actually added The Dragoon from Kirby's Air Ride into this game. I'll wait until the translations comes out before I say more, but wow.

Dopefish Dec 28, 2007 02:19 AM

English site updated. Good update, but here's a bad one (in huge text so no one can miss it):

So, see you in a week and a half, Smash Bros. Dojo.

Chaotic Dec 28, 2007 02:21 AM

The Dragoon seems like a nice item to battle with. Heated competition for it should be really nice. The share aspect is pretty nice also. Here's to sending sexually related pictures to all your friends because you can roffle at them so.

And...

Diversion Dec 28, 2007 02:21 AM

Two good updates, IMO, and the second one leaves a lot for interpretation when it refers to stages: I get the feeling you don't simply trade stages, but perhaps a game recording?? Prtyplz!

Zeta26 Dec 28, 2007 02:32 AM

Heh, now that's a cheap, yet effective way to win and keep your opponents away lmao.

Rumor mill:

Someone posted this on Gamefaqs a few months ago

Quote:

Ok, I'm not trying to get attention here or anything, but I've got some insider news.

I can't give proof, and if I could I wouldn't. I thought it was bull until Monday.

I was told there was a stage creator. So far, this news has been correct. So check this out...

He said Wolf was in the game.

Falco is returning.

Ganondorf is returning.

Captain Falcon is returning.

Lucario is taking Mewtwo's Place.

Ness is returning.

Zelda can turn into Sheik.

And there are these items called "Dragoon Parts" I did some research and apparently they're from Kirby's Air Ride. Supposedly, if you collect all three parts you can do some devastating move where you control a crosshair and do a crazy rush or something.

Oh and Final Destination is back.

I wish there was more info squeezed out, but there wasn't. If you don't want to believe, don't. I know there's a lot more to be revealed besides this anyway. Let time prove it, as it has begun to.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl Message Board - Super Smash Bros. Brawl Forum - Super Smash Bros. Brawl Discussion

Appearently, quite a few people saw the message when he posted it. Probably a coincidence, but it's still interesting. I'm posting it here just so we can see if this was actually a leak or not after the game is released.

Chaotic Dec 28, 2007 04:56 AM

The world needs more Star Fox characters, so if Krystal becomes a character, Wolf is probably going to be an assist. Vise versa if Wolf should be the character.

Fuck yes, on Falco. I know too many people who are good with him for him to be gone.

Ganon was partly confirmed already... Conversation about him has gone on long enough.

Falcon has to return since he's pretty much the only F-Zero character that's an actual playable character. Samurai Goroh would be kinda useless in there without him.

Lucario? Fuck yes. I walk talking to my friend about this if he were in there, but I always though he would fit pretty well... I just fear his side+B would be the same as Fox/Falco... Although that's not always a bad thing.

Ness better be returning for the sake of people... I could care less since no one in my area plays as him.

Sheik should be in there anyway, otherwise Zelda would just be a bad character... And they already added her old look as one of her costumes so she has to be able to transform into Sheik. Either way, Shiek was partly confirmed also.

And what kind of game would the Smash Bros. series be if they didn't have a flat stage with edges? You have to fight the Master hand somewhere.

And that's some insane information there... After reading through what people are saying on GameFAQs, it's seems to be a little more than a coincidence that he managed to get that Dragoon information perfectly.

Lizardcommando Dec 28, 2007 05:11 AM

I dunno.... Smells like bullshit to me.

Chaotic Dec 28, 2007 05:40 AM

Along with that info to talk about, I read up on GoNintendo about this guy who sent in some translation information about the Brawl demo at the Jump Fiesta.

GoNintendo Article
Blog Entries

Based on what I read and what GoNintendo has mentioned already (which I'll start with):

Quote:

  • Kirby plays more like his N64 counterpart
  • The Pokemon Trainer shouts out the name of the Pokemon he is using.
  • Duster (Mother 3) and Rosalina (Super Mario Galaxy) are assist trophies.
  • The Sandbag is now an item.
    ~~~~
    From the site:
  • Fox's down smash is slightly weakened
  • You can shoot blaster shots in the air with Fox when he's not moving
  • Kirby's dash attack has changed from the Fireball to his Yo-Yo dash attack from Kirby Super Star
  • Mario's former Down Smash is now his D-Air attack.
Something like that, feel free to read up on it and correct me if I'm wrong. It's good to hear that Kirby is climbing back up there. If that's the case, then by today's standards he should land somewhere on the top part of the Middle Tier list or possibly a low High tier list.
Fox better stay the same as he was in Melee or I'll be ticked off about it. <_<
The only reason I'd call shenanegans on Ness is because there's not supposed to be any clones this time. Considering Ness was originally just a retooled Lucas, maybe they're redesigning Ness with a skillset that more closely resembles how he appeared Earthbound, so you can go around blasting people with Psi Penis.
