Is anyone still interested in keeping this going? Please reply with some words of encouragement if you want me or Omni to keep at this. I'm thinking I might just give up on this and maybe start a anime piano music thread or something.

I find this to be a fun distraction and would like you to keep going, but that's just me. I don't always have the time or inclination to check back here frequently, so sometimes I end up missing a bout of activity.

My assumption was that the two of you had some sort of schedule or agreement as to who's doing the current melody. Either that, or the format of this game is going to have to change a bit since I don't think most people have the ability to generate new tunes. It would be easy to turn the game into a simple "guess this anime tune" where people crop BGM/songs, but then it could also end up being quite difficult to play...

Anyway, please continue if you're up for it.

I'm always up for it, it's just timing issues. Occasionally a school week will be a bit too busy to come up with a melody.

I was also tossing around the idea of just using BGM for a bit, but then I was thinking that the issue with BGM was that it was, simply, BGM. It would be extremely hard to guess, even if you did watch the show because, by definition, it plays in the background to supplement the show, not to draw attention away from the show.

I don't think we have a schedule we run on right now, I just assume we wait for the next suggestion to be PM'd by the solver of the last one.

This is what I get for being on vacation (still am actually). Someone can go ahead and plop down a melody in the interest of keeping this thing alive.

I did this melody a little different from the others. Basically
I played three short background music selections from a
single anime on the piano and you all just guess the series
they are all from.

If no one guesses it after the first three hints I will do the traditional
karaoke plus melody (for the opening or ending) for the 4th hint, and the
lyrics for the 5th if it gets that far.

Drawing a blank, but nice playing. Did you come up with the arrangements yourself or dig them up from somewhere online? (and are these tunes originally solo piano or what?)

I swear it took like a hundred recordings to get that last one to sound somewhat
acceptable. All those annoying jumps, turns, trills and that third run... :eagletear:

I found all the transcriptions online at "josh's anime sheet music collection". All three of the pieces were originally piano solo as well. I wish I was as talented at transcribing and arranging as him.

That show was one of my all time favorite series. I guess I'm going to have to start

Not so sure about the first 2, but 3rd song seems to remind me of A Little Snow Fairy Sugar.

Something about that third sample and the wording of your last post makes me think Maria-sama ga Miteru.
