I bet this is the issue. Going to bed be back on that in the morn. :cmbirthday:

That was precisely the issue.

I have posted something that could well end poorly. We shall see.

Off to work, catch up on the chaos when I get home later.

If you speak loud and slow enough they'll understand you, much like speaking to dwarves.

And technically, given a bit of time to set up the ritual, Scary Bob can speak Goblin.

I borrowed a Players handbook and GM guide (which I probably won't read) from my little brother. They are Edition 3.5.

Before I start reading this, does anybody know if it's going to substantially differ from the rules we are playing with, and if I should even bother?

It's probably not worth the time. Enough of the rules have changed since 3.5 that it's only going to confuse you if anything.

Perform a strength check against Scary Bob overturning a table.

Fucking knew that opening the door was going to be a bad idea. Right. ONCE MORE INTO THE FRAY, DEAR FRIENDS.

Fluffykitten McGrundlepuss Jul 7, 2008 02:50 AM

Having thus far escaped injury and not needed to use it, can someone explain to me what that health surge business is all about please?

Once in battle (second wind) and as many times outside as your stats allow (it's listed on your sheet) you regain 1/4 of your max HP. So Gabriel gets 7 back in his surges, as he has 30 HP (always round down).

And yet Zeph's just done exactly the same thing. Bracing for two-pronged attack...

Pang, I think Knk's last post was a forward instruction for his turn, move forward 5 spaces, which makes it the other Dire rat's turn.

I wonder if rats are immune to oily fire.

That will all happen just as soon as Deni's taken his turn

I was honestly thinking the same thing but didn't voice it. I blame Zeph for picking a dwarvish-sounding name.

The unmovable stubborn Jul 7, 2008 12:48 PM

He didn't pick a name at all.

He had to have one assigned to him.

Animechanic Jul 7, 2008 05:38 PM

Considering his current course of action, his name may not be of much of a concern in the near future.

Here's hoping for some murderizing.

Rest assured, if you come into the game and I'm still alive, somebody's going to get a knife in their back.

Animechanic Jul 7, 2008 08:11 PM

C'mon Zeph, open the hatch. You know you want to.

And even then you gave him such an ordinary name? He could have been called "Shifty Sneakyboots" or something similar as preventative measure against laziness in future players.

Zephyrin Jul 7, 2008 08:42 PM

The whole point of a role-playing game is to, uh...play a role. Sometimes I think it's avoiding the purpose if you get to customize your character too much.

Granted we still instill our personality traits into the characters actions, and I'd probably do a piss poor job trying to pretend to be a lawful neutral character, etc, but I just think it's not a big deal for the DM to decide my character for me.

The role you play is set by you. How much you customize your character doesn't matter in the big picture regarding the purpose, which is to play a role.

His name is Grass Deadmoney, what do you want from me :(

Nevermind, I like yours better now anyway.

I think from now on I will have to google search everything Pang types, just in case I am missing some hidden meaning.

Sarag Jul 8, 2008 07:21 PM

I like the name Fescue. Shut up.

I also like how the party hasn't been able to avoid conflict and in fact is making every decision possible to get themselves attacked.

Animechanic Jul 8, 2008 07:35 PM

I think a DnD game where conflict is avoided at every opportunity would be rather dull.

Bradylama Jul 8, 2008 07:51 PM

Verily 'tis a fool that thinks the Orcs an unreasonable lot.

The unmovable stubborn Jul 10, 2008 04:09 PM

I don't want to alarm anyone but this seems like it might be a good time for those of you near the top of the reserve list to finalize your character concepts!
