Oh snap, Australia gets the DS Lite before America. June 1st, $199.95 AUD (that's less than $200, what a steal!) But NSMB isn't due out till June 8. =(

That video review made my mouth water. I'm leary about the GBA cartridge sticking out like that, but the extra brightness more than makes up for that. The only question now is when I should sell my old DS. Has Gamestop mentioned any trade-in specials yet (trade the old DS, get over half off the DS Lite)?

That guy's got a lot of guts having his DS sit on an escalator like that. I would never do that, even if it was for online props. The part where he has the DS listen to an Ipod made me chuckle, though.

SOLDIER, GameStop's probably not going to have any specials, judging by my store and the others in the district. We have used DSes coming out of our asses. Last count, I think we had over 20.

Honestly, if you can live without a DS for a month, go ahead and trade in your DS and put the credit on a reserve for the Lite. The trade in value is only going to go down. It's $50 now...

Then suddenly, at E3, they announce that Wii is coming out in Australia in 2008. You know, just to even things out.

Let me see if I understand this clearly, the Nintendo DS is completely region free. So say I were to import the JPN version of the Nintendo DS Lite, it'll work without a problem?

Yup. I already have a sexy navy blue DS lite and it works fine with all my games.

Yup, but remember, you don't have an American warranty, and it might be a hassle to return in case of dead pixels, etc...

That's the only reason I'm holding out for an American EB-bought DS Lite with extended warranty.

Appreciate the replies fellas. I guess I'll hold off purchasing the NDS Lite being that most online retailers list the item for nothing less than $199. If anyone knows of a respectable site which has it for less, I would appreciate the info. This was the best listing I could find...

The 199 price is just a placeholder, since Nintendo hasn't announced the official price yet.

They don't want to list it as 100 bucks and then have to ask people to pay more on their pre-orders if Nintendo says it's 150.

Jazz, Nintendo has announced the official price. $129.99 just like the DS. I imagine they intend to just do away wiith the DS and let the DS lite take over. I remember reading something about Reggie saying that was their plan.

I hope they get the black version out here asap.

It's funny you mention that. I haven't actually used the system in at least 2 months, and yet I have a feeling I'd miss it as soon as I sell it. I'm still planning to put it up on EBay or Amazon. Maybe I'll throw in the Metroid Hunters demo as a bonus to sweeten the sale.

I'm seriously salivating over here. I just found out tonight that the DS Lite is being released in just a little over a month . . . for 130 bucks, no less! And I was ready and willing to shell out $200 at Lik Sang for an import!

I don't mind so much that the only available color will be white, as that was the color I wanted anyway. I imagine I'll be kicking myself if a pink one is ever released, though (. . . yeah, I'm that girly).

Now I'm sitting here playing my DS and thinking, "Man, I hate you. Why you gotta be so ugly? Stupid underbite design. Stupid dark screen."

My DS broke today. I was gonna wait for the Lite, but I'll be out of the country by that time. So I ordered one today... $180 total. Enamel blue.

I definitely wanna keep my original DS, mainly to give to my brother or something. I'll get it fixed at some point, but he may not have it for the out-of-country trip. ;_;

pre-ordered a DS Lite yesterday. Traded in my PSP months ago due to a lack of games that are worth more than $20... DS seems to have a nifty selection, plus you can play GBA games, which is another plus.

Want to get Brain Age, LostMagic, SMB and ill see what else there is when i go to get the system.

Apparently it is not released yet in Singapore. The japanese version of DS lite cost S$350. Expensive but worth it.

Does DS lite comes in other colour other than white?

I got my DS Lite, yay. Enamel blue. It's hot. It's awesome. If I was forced to make a complaint about it, it would only be that it does smudge and get fingerprints easily. Perhaps it's a feature...
