I totally agree Spatula. When you have to go around Bhujerba with Vaan screaming out I'm Captain Basche, you would probably notice that you like the British voices a lot better. When I was going around doing this, I was laughing the whole time b/c I kept thinking about the townspeople saying shut up! I always liked the British accents compared to the American voices.

On a side note, I like Fran's voice......I like everything about Fran. She is always the party leader and I never take her out of the party unless the game made her leave. She is my strongest character and my version of a black mage. I love the way she looks and I like her tanned skin. She is definitely my favorite character from Final Fantasy since Cloud in FFVII. I have to give it to her, in my view she looks better than Tifa.;)

Borg1982 Nov 5, 2006 03:13 AM

Can we add a poll like "Rate FFXII on a scale 1-10" so I can get the idea if I should buy this when it comes to the average opinion of many, many voters?

HyeVltg3 Nov 5, 2006 03:44 AM

majario: what are you talking about.....i mention liking the Jap voices better than the eng/brit voice overs lol ( this also answers Spat's question. :P)

Spatula: I mostly loved/liked all but loved Balthier's the most lol.

EDIT** i got the poll up. Vote away :P

majario Nov 5, 2006 04:23 AM

Sorry for the misunderstanding on my part HyeVltg3.:ashamed:

HyeVltg3 Nov 5, 2006 04:32 AM

..lol np jsut didnt want any misunderstandings. :P wither i got a poll set up :P

OMFG I f*cking finally made it to f*cking archadia.
Spoiler:
damnit the road to archadia is freakin long and not only that, once you make it there your in "old archadia" you have to find a person that can help you get into the new one ><!

Musharraf Nov 5, 2006 06:18 AM

I wonder whether it would make sense to eqiup ALL characters with Golden Amulets, I mean, it definitely makes sense to equip those who're not part of the main party with Golden Amulets, but first of all, they ARE a bit pricey (5k for one, I think) and second, there are other important accessories. That's why so far, I only equipped Vaan with one, but of course it makes sense to equip the more or less inactive members as well.

Shenlon Nov 5, 2006 06:30 AM

I equipped everyone with those and so far my grid is coming out nicely but now I have nothing good to choose from from the skill portion of the grid so I'm getting mostly armor and weapons which is cool becuase they needed an upgrade for quite sometime.

Like the golden armlet doubles your lp, I was able to steal a rabai.....tippet (dont know the first part of the name) in the Tichen Uplands. That Item allows you to gain double exp. Once you reach archadia you'll be able to buy them at 5000gil and even though I have the money for it -around 100000- I decided only to have one person equip it so I can circle it around my party so that everyone still earns pleanty of LP. Basch went up 7 levels in the tichen uplands, also the serpents there almost always drop quality hides so its an awsome place to train once you get there.

You can start buying them at... well, it's a location with the initials Mt. B.O.
location name:
Mt. Bur-Omisace

If you're still at the Raithwall Tomb, you still have a few dungeons to get through to get to Mt. B.O.

This way, instead of needing 16,000 LP to max out a license board, you'll only need 8,000.

Actually, you can get them a teeeny bit before.

Spoiler:
The Verra Village ;)
This is convenient because the wolves in the Gilmore Forest have Colyent Pearls or something that sell for 400ish and there's plenty of em

Musharraf Nov 5, 2006 07:04 AM

Haha, by the way, you know you live in the greatest generation when you're playing the new FF game and a moogle is talking about missing his flight and says "Oh noes!" to you :tpg:

Freelance Nov 5, 2006 07:45 AM

Somehow, I don't quite like to see Internet lingo appearing in games, but as long as it's restricted to one line or two, it should be all right.

About that poll...it should be added to this thread, not put in a separate one. GFF doesn't like those things, see.

Mush, the reason why I got 6 Quickenings when Vaan's at level 14 (:D) is because I never bothered investing in the license board. I never bothered to get much decent equipment for the team when I should have, hence all the tough battles I've been getting. D'oh. Not good. That's why I'm just using the mines to get some LP. Now I got much better equipment and I'm ready to kick some butt now.

As for my previous question, I'll just stick to Fran with bow. Having two ranged characters should help in the long run, I suppose.

Shenlon Nov 5, 2006 08:12 AM

two ranged characters will be a necessity once you encounter the stronger flying enemies but make sure that someone has some powerful black magic too, something like bio.
My characters hit around 600-1400 damage but it means nuthing if they are bounded to ground attacks. Thats why you'll need some strong black magic for those without guns or bows.

woot I finally got another trophy!
Reks, for 500000 hunt points

Freelance Nov 5, 2006 08:25 AM

I read in the guide that with the Telekenesis technique, grounded characters can hit the flying enemies. Right now, Basch is the only one in my team that has it. Still, having a black magick would be a good idea to have, since Telekenesis costs like 80 LP or so. Ouch. Vaan can be a red mage then. That oughta do it.

Shenlon Nov 5, 2006 08:29 AM

well shows how much i know, this is the first i've heard of telekenesis but I hardly use any techniks. Those things are expensive.

lordo Nov 5, 2006 08:41 AM

I'd advise getting Horology and use that against flying enimies with one character using a bow. Takes htem out prettily easily.

Freelance Nov 5, 2006 08:53 AM

This is the first I've heard of Horology. What does that do?

Telekenesis is in a little niche on the right side of the board. I happened to come across it when getting Basch his quickenings. With Balthier and gun, Fran with bow (and Horology whatever that is), Basch with Telekenesis and Vaan with black magick up the wazoo, I should have everything covered for the flying enemies.

lordo Nov 5, 2006 08:56 AM

Horology is a random attack based on time. I had it on 2 guys and one with a bow and the horology guys were hittin for 200-500 easy. This was back around level 24ish, I'll probably buy another bow so I can equip 2 if I encounter more flying enimies :)

Shenlon Nov 5, 2006 09:00 AM

thats an early tech that you can get, I've had it for quite some time already but with very little effect on damage. Does it cause more damage depending which weapon your holding?

Freelance Nov 5, 2006 09:07 AM

I presume the longer the fight takes, the more damage dealt? With a tech like that, it really shouldn't matter which weapon you're using. Prove me wrong.

How often does Charge work on average? I'd be screwed if all my MP goes down to 0 if it goes wrong.

lordo Nov 5, 2006 09:14 AM

I only use charge when I have 0 MP ;) It gives you about 30 which is just enough for Cura ;D

Horology just works on time I think, maybe on your overall time playing?

Shenlon Nov 5, 2006 09:17 AM

charge never failed on me unless i try it with fran, for some reason she fails like she hates using it :/

I used it a few times during a boss battle which was very risky but i needed to do some quickenings to finish off a boss. When your on your way to archadia there are a few bosses that you have to fight without saving beforehand:mad:

TheXeno Nov 5, 2006 09:27 AM

Does it really matter what quickenings I get for each character?

do you mean if it matters which part of the board you get the quickening in.
You can get any quickening on the board but it will always be the same move for every character. Like feral strike can only be learned by fran but it doesn't matter which part of the board you obtain it in

....That's not good.

NOOOOOO....!!!

Ah I understand Charge now. Do it when you have low MP anyway. After all, you've got nothing to lose, so you might as well go for it. I forgot that techs don't cost anything to use.

I got Ashe Charge while in the mines and I went 'whooo!' Of course, I forgot that I never actually bought Charge, so I couldn't use it. D'oh! So I had her running around in circles (literally) to build MP back up. Balthier was the smart one. He just stood there watching me. Basch, on the other hand, kept trying to run after me :D

Don't perform charge if you have 60/90 MP or something like that, only if you either have 0 MP or if you seriously need additional MP. I normally charge when there are no enemies around so I can perform it again in case it fails. Not recommended to be performed in battle, especially boss battles, though, I prefer ethers for that kind of situation.
