Is it by any chance Hatenko Yuugi? I only checked out the first episode waay back but never finished it.

I feel as though I may have seen that symbol in Shakugan no Shana the second, so that will be my second guess.

it's not Hatenko Yuugi, i've only seen the first ep too but havn't seen any others. i might pick it up again later. it's not Shakugan no Shana either, althou there is a girl with red hair in this show too =p time for another picture hint.

I'll guess Zero no Tsukaima since it has a red head and has magic, though I don't recall a scene like this anywhere. Also thought I'd get the thread moving again. :p

Honestly, I've never watched it, but I'll guess Earth Maiden Arjuna (or however you spell it, I forget exactly), just because of the two dots on the head. It looks like something that'd come out of that.
