Famitsu gave it 33, so I'm not apprehensive. However, I've heard the current HM:DS title is glitched up beyond playability so I'm going to give that one a pass. Besides; Rune Factory is "Harvest Moon with a sword", which is already intriguing enough if you don't consider the fact that it's also WFC compatible.

What's more is that PAL territories are getting it before the US. Whehay.

modchips are popping up all over the place now

CycloWiz,

- Quicksolder (no wires required)
- Plays Wii Backups
- Plays GC Backups
- Play GC Homebrew
- Play GC Imports (swap needed)
- Built-in Audiofix (GC games using streaming are working flawlessly, no patch needed)
- DVD-R / DVD+R support
- Optional chip disable wire
- Stealth even when chip is enabled
- Multi-purpose LED

It still doesent answer the question of backup of imports, the day is coming though.

What the hell is the point.

The purpose of a modchip is to directly play any region CD-R disc without having to swap. That's why there's a swap magic for PS2 as well as modchips. And it's not like people actually used burned gamecube games.

I won't even ask how you swap with a modchip.

I'll wait until they make something with the ease of HD Loader, or at least something that can play backups without modding your system in any way.

What I really hope comes to fruition is the wireless nunchuck. I share the complaints of other owners regarding the short length of the tether between the remote and nunchuck. I'm not one of those casual players, I swing that sucker like crazy. :/

majario Jan 30, 2007 06:46 PM

Totally agree SOLDIER. I too swing that thing around like there's no tomorrow. I usually hit myself with the cord so a wireless nunchuck would be a splendid idea.

Grubdog Jan 30, 2007 09:18 PM

It's not worth using extra batteries for.

Only if you are this guy should this be a problem: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/6178659.stm :D

If this truly becomes an issue then there's money to be made, and I would think someone like Madcatz would make an extender cable, just like companies have made controller extender cables in the past for non-wireless controllers. Much better/less expensive than a wireless 'chuck.

So, Sega will be publishing Guilty Gear Accent Core for the Wii. I could just die right now. I guess it's early to tell if online support will be there (July is still a long way) but even if it doesn't, it's still GREAT news.

Also, Manhunt 2? WTF?

Wall Feces Feb 6, 2007 09:33 PM

Awesome, two great announcements right there. Manhunt was always a title I wanted to see get Wii-ized. Imagine the stealth kills, how brutal they could be to replicate with the wiimote. Awesome!

I think companies who make fighters for consoles with online capabilities already know that ONLINE FIGHTERS DON'T WORK. I don't care if future SF, GG or whatever else titles come out lack online support. It's difficult to play fighters online because they require such precision and timing. Lag and you're dead.

Soldier Feb 6, 2007 10:13 PM

I've yet to actually play any fighting games online, but I continue to crave it. Haven't there been some games on Xbox Live that have been said to pull it off without much lag? I thought I read that GGXX handled it well, along with one of the Street Fighters.

Nah. SFII on xbox live had horrible lag and you factor in the fact that most idiots will drop out of a game if they are losin'. Online fighters will never work until lag is no longer a huge issue and the ability to quit in the middle of a match is taken away.

Is Guilty Gear really going to be released for the Wii? Just because...well, there's no Japan date, and the publisher is Aksys Games (not to be confused with Arcsys, Arc System Works). I don't mean to be pessimistic, but just don't get your hopes up too high...yet. If Sega is indeed the publisher, then there's a better chance of it happening. Now, someone just needs to make an arcade stick for the Wii.

Well, the Guilty Gear news is really confusing, as there doesn't seem to be any real concrete information on it.

i'm just a guilty gear nut

christdw Feb 7, 2007 07:44 PM

Does anyone use the news service on Wii?

Taco Feb 7, 2007 09:45 PM

Obligatory "posting from my Wii" post

edit: Although I noticed it's the wrong thread after posting. Oh well. Enjoying Mario 64 on Virtual Console currently.

Pez Feb 8, 2007 10:10 AM

Couldn't find much concrete info on GG for Wii, but I did stumble upon Guitar Hero on Wii (well, it could be on the DS, but that seems less likely).

Not all that surprizing, considering that there were news in the past sying that Activision wants to put out GH on all major consoles. The real GH news I'm waiting for is the release date. This is one of the only games that make me regret not having a PS2.

IdleChill Feb 9, 2007 01:51 AM

I just want a wii, period. :[

I see ps3s all over the goddamnplace.

immp Feb 10, 2007 04:10 AM

Yep. Here's what I hear everywhere I go.

"got any wiis in today?"
"Hahahaha....no. We have Ps3s."
"no thanks...bye."

I almost considered buying one just to pass the time till I get a wii.

Buizel Feb 10, 2007 10:55 AM

Why buy the Wii by itself when you can have a custom PC with a Wii built in!

Because there are no Wii emulators on PC that allow you to use the disks.

FatsDomino Feb 10, 2007 02:30 PM

Did you click on the link, Lukage? The console is IN the PC. Kind of neat, but pointless to me.

Slayer X Feb 10, 2007 06:56 PM

That's a pretty sweet mod they did. If it had a larger monitor and made it look a little better (ex. full face cover) then I'd probably try and get it.
