I just picked up Shadow Hearts: From the new World a few days ago. I got it from Gamestop, so of course they were able to rope me into buying the strategy guide too. It's funny because I really don't need it considering how linear the Shadow Hearts games are. But, I thought "what the hell."
Anyways, I'm about 4 hours into the game and I'm enjoying it a lot. I only wish I had more time to play it. |
picked up 2 players choice games for gamecube for $30 the pair at Toysrus. I got Pikmin 2 and Paper Mario. and I couldnt be happyer with the two. About 18 hours into pikmin and while some of the novity is wareing off its defently very fun. as for paper mario I played about 1 hour into it and so far it seems good but at the moment and for the next little while I dont know when I can find the time to start a rpg. oh well.

Picked up Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater the other day. A friend of mine rented it and said it was really good, and i seen it in gamestop for 9$ so i bought it. Ive always loved me some MGS, but never did like that you were big boss instead of "Solid Snake", but after watching him play i decided it was awsome.

Damn, I gotta stop going to that store selling games for cheap. I picked up Beyond Good and Evil today for $4.99 'cause I heard lots of stuff about it. I may get No One Lives Forever 2 next for $14.99.

More and more games this month...
I got FIFA Soccer 06 for PS2. I also continued my shopping spree of DS games by getting Sonic Rush and Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day! That's about $500 this month on video game stuff. |

I just got 'Hitman:Blood Money' for the XBOX. I've played the first two levels so far. Things are good. I've played 'Hitman 2' and 'Hitman:Contracts'. I like the added gameplay elements that are in 'Blood Money': climbing, hiding in closets, bribes, weapon upgrades, notoriaty, distracting, etc. The one thing that I don't like is that you can't have mid-level saves. They get erased when you quit the game. It wasn't like that in the other games.

Finally got around to buying God of War for the PS2. Haven't played it yet, but look forward to doing soon. From everything I have read and seen about the game, I'll more likely than not love it...

I picked a few games at Gamestop today. For the PS2, I got Red Faction II. I just finished the first one a couple of months ago, so I'll probably be playing this one soon, especially since I liked it more based on the demo of it I played of it. For the DS, I bought Trace Memory and Puyo Pop Fever. Trace Memory was cheap, and it looked pretty good, so I decided to get it. Puyo Pop fever was cheap as well, and I mainly got it since it had single card multiplayer.

Got Devil May Cry 3 : Special Edition for 12 bucks, I have the original but figured at that price, wouldnt kill me to get the SE. Also bought SiN: episode 1 off of Steam.

OK this will be my last game in a while, but I did get No One Lives Forever 2 yesterday. That place is chewing up all my money, hahaa. I tried out the coop mode today and it's pretty fun, although nothing beats BF2 in my book.

I've been getting some good purchases off of eBay on old games. I recently got the following:
Super Mario All-Stars (SNES) Glover (N64) Macross (Famicom) I also got an actually Famicom with that Macross game, but it's not functional right now. At least the whole set was cheap, so I don't feel so bad playing around inside of it. |
I bought G.R.A.W for 360 the other night on a whim, which I regret. I like the Mexico setting, but the game just isn't gripping me. I'm in a state of total non-gripness.
I'll end up putting it up on ebay just to salvage something from this mess. |
Don't think I posted this before, but last weekend I picked up Metal Gear Solid 3: Substitence for PS2. Just today, I picked up Paper Mario for GC for $19.99 at Hastings. (They have greatly expanded their used & new selection.) Much more reasonable than at Gamestop, where the suckers are still selling it new for $49.99. I mean, c'mon wtf?

i went crazy and got a bunch of import psx stuff
[SLPS-02068] Oekaki Puzzle [Superlite 1500 Series] this is the equivalent of mario picross. it's a puzzle game where you're given a grid and some notes on the grouping pattern of the squares filled in. it's not as complicated as some logic puzzles, but it's pretty fun anyway. 500 different puzzles divided among 5x5, 10x10, 10x20 and 20x20. [SCPS-10108] Poketan this is an aid for japanese people to learn english and isn't really a game. it is a flashcard type system where a kanji is displayed along with a bunch of blank spaces and a couple letters. you fill in the blanks and try to spell the english word given by the kanji. i guess it does a fairly good job going from someone knowing english to learning kanji compounds. the main highlight of this "game" is that you can upload the data to a pocketstation and take 2 lessons at a time. [SLPM-87319] Twinbee RPG [PSone Books] a basic RPG in the Twinbee world. not very kanji heavy making it somewhat easier for people familiar with a bit of japanese. havent played it too much, but it seems to be pretty decent [SLPS-02555] Rescue Shot Bubibo Guncon Game. that's pretty much all i need to say <3. it kinda reminds me of gumshoe for NES. [SLPS-02808] Sakkyoku Surundamon Dance Remix it's a loop based music creation program. it's ok. it has a handful of loops, but there isn't much freedom to it. pretty good for a psx effort though [SLPM-86692] Beatmania - Append - Club Mix yay. i really like the interface of this mix. it also has a variety of songs that are exclusive to this mix. certainly one of my favorite mixes. [SLPM-86216] Captain Love dating sim style game. haven't played this one too much. occasional voice acting was present. [SLPM-86775,6] Tokimeki Memorial 2 Substories Vol.2 - Leaping School Festival konami's dating sim. haven't played this one much either, though it looks a bit better in quality than captain love. plenty of voice acting, a nice anime opening, and a minigame within the first 5 minutes of gameplay. this one definitely gives a warm welcome [SLPS-91517,8] Summon Night 2 [PSone Books] a isometric strategy game. only went through till the first battle though. it seems to handle like the turnbased strategy games (like fftactics). a nice intro, plenty of voice acting. i also noticed a bonus section that contained a couple production sketches and conceptual design note things (rather empty of course having just started the game) and that's it for now... |
Just purchased Battlefield 2 (PC) and Soul Calibur 3 (PS2).
I've been playing the Battlefield 2 demo for about a year, I thought it might be time to get the full version. I loved Soul Calibur 2, and I've waited with SC3 since I've been short on cash and it's been out of stock and so. I hope this will be a great game to spend the summer with. |

Update: I forgot to put in the link to the thread! Here it is. |
I just picked up GTA: Liberty City Stories for the PS2 and Tetris DS today. I got them both from Circuit City, since they were both on sale (GTA for $15, and Tetris DS for $23).

Otherwise, I was going to list the games I recently got from a Circuit City deal, but I can't find the bag right now, so I'll just list the ones I remember: Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal ($10) Dragon Quest 8 ($10) Marc Ecko's Getting Up (Xbox version, $10) |
Man, I was went to go get Dragon Quest VIII for $10 last week, but they were sold out by the time I went there. Hopefully they do that again soon, as the cheapest I've seen the game other than that was for $30, and that's too much to pay for a game that I probably won't play anytime soon (since I'm already backlogged with about 10 other RPGs at the moment).

I traded in Tales of Symphonia, Custom Robo, Onimusha Blade Warriors and Blood Will Tell to EB since we're giving $10 extra credit for 4 games and picked up a 1GB memory stick which is on sale for $40, Logitech's PlayGear Headphones, and Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence.
|
Today I bought an XBOX 360 (premium setup). I got three games to go with it: 1)Perfect Dark Zero, 2)Tomb Raider: Legend, and 3)Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter. I read great reviews for G.R.A.W and OK to good reviews for the other two. I spent $552 on everything. All three games I bought used. Gamestop is having a 'buy two used games, get one free' deal. The system is new. I've only played Perfect Dark Zero so far. I'm a couple of levels in right now. I'll play the others soon and write about them.

I recently bought Super Monkey Ball: Touch and Go and Viewtiful Joe: Double Trouble for the DS. I haven't played VJ yet, but SMB seems pretty meh so far from what I have played of it, which was mostly just the minigames.
|
I went and picked up Street Fight Alpha Anthology for PS2 today. Of course I am saddened that it was not given a 360 release {oh man SFA2Gold on XBL against Manitoba would be awesome fun}, but unfortunately that isn't the case. Still it's nice to have SFA, SFA2, SFA2Gold, SFA3 {, and Super Pocket Fighter} all on one disc.
