Ok, small update:

Snowknight - Crusader - 57/22

I've been in two different guilds in the past three days, too >_>
(The second of which was broken, apparently.)
I think I'll begin making a couple characters for the sake of it soon.

Ekon May 30, 2006 01:17 AM

Just get Saka to invite you to RTFO man.

ps What were the two guilds? =o

Holy crap! 50% experience boost!?! Granted it's not as much as 2x, but it now gives reason to play again (must less level my sin to 99)!

I was under the impression that RTFO was rather... full. (I don't know about PTFO, though.)

I'll bug him some time =p

Luceid May 30, 2006 07:04 PM

Haha, it's not always like that. Better ask Saka about that.

Dear Users,

We regret to inform you that there are currently some problems regarding the Homunculus system, specifically regarding the ability to control, feed and engage in battle with Homunculi. We are aware of this situation and are currently working the remedy the Homunculus system. In the meantime, we strongly urge all Alchemists and Biochemists to use the Vaporize skill to protect your Homunculus for the time being. We deeply apologize for any resulting inconvenience and will work to restore the Homunculus system as soon as possible.

Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

gj iRO GM Team, they know nothing about the scripting system of the Homunculus, and thus figured it was a bug. A new patch was released which basically renders your Homunculus... stupid.

But! It breaks them alltogether, allowing you to have fun like this (found this from someone laughing at iRO team):

Hopped on PSIBlade again since Snowknight mentioned it to me. Had to get a second disk and install Windows on that (boo ATA33 ;_; ), but I've been roaming around down in Payon Dungeon 1 recently for level--don't really know of anywhere else, really.

My character is:

Duminas | Acolyte | 18/10

I so need to find a better weapon. Rod +3 isn't really cutting it against Zombies right now.

Furby Jun 1, 2006 02:16 AM

The iRo gms are retards..what can I say.

Duminas Jun 2, 2006 05:16 AM

Aaaaaaaaand a slight update. Acolyte at 38/28 now. Beyond that, has PSIBlade been known to be droppy on occasion? Earlier tonight I got dropped every few minutes for a good half hour--eventually just gave up.

That and the lag killed me in Payon Dungeon 2 twice, but that wasn't quite as big a bother.

Lacerta Jun 2, 2006 10:24 AM

It does seem to be getting unusually laggy as of late, but I dunno about droppy, maybe if it lags that badly.

niki Jun 21, 2006 05:07 AM

Anyone on iRO Loki selling a 2x Boned Gakkung by any chance? <_<

Disembow Jun 21, 2006 10:41 AM

I may come pay a visit back to RO when school fires back up, depending on the answer to two of my questions. First, are there any good/great pure auto-falconers and secondly, are there any decent combo monks or asura combo champs?

I'm ... not sure I understand your questions ...

Your question can't be solved, you know. It's something you have to find out yourself, because it's quite vague for me.

Furby Jun 22, 2006 11:26 AM

I think he means, builds... Like is there a good set build for those classes.

Dobby Jun 22, 2006 12:35 PM

could be asking about the people, with the general intent to TAKE OVER THE WORLD!!!!!!

Duminas Jun 23, 2006 12:58 AM

Now a 55/43 Acolyte, and I've got a question.

I've been building for a Priest, but being at this point as an Acolyte (high INT, low everything else) I'm finding myself rather bored, and can't see becoming a Priest helping this much. Can Monks sustain themselves decently, if using, say, the Diamond build?

Priest looks like it'd be more of the same slow healbombing, where Monk looks like it'd be crush kill destroy massacre time; choosing is hard. But to that end, I've also stocked up 50k so I can reset myself if I do decide to go Monk, since I've got a few stray points scattered about.

Are you asking about players or builds? :/

What's a diamond build?

Priest is best if you intend on gathering a party to support/level with. Solo priest is quite manageable as a TU build, but certainly not as FS. ME might be possible, though it will be hard unless you have some decent equipment.

Duminas Jun 23, 2006 12:41 PM

TU and ME?

And "Diamond build" is one of the ones people have mentioned to me, in that it relies on str and vit rather heavily. Carded chains is what I'm told about it. There's some more info over here.

Bigblah Jun 23, 2006 01:01 PM

TU = Turn Undead. Target one (undead) enemy at a time, has a certain chance to kill them in one hit.

ME = Magnus Exorcimus. Cast it on the ground, has a coverage of somewhere around 5x5 cells. Undead and demon enemies in the area of effect receive a high amount of damage.

Both skills are highly dependent on INT. You probably can switch between both builds without touching your stats -- max out INT and divide the rest between VIT and DEX, whichever suits your style of play better. LUK doesn't seem to have that much of an impact on TU.

Naturally you should start out with TU/FS first. ME should only be attempted once you're higher level (approaching 90 if you're non-transcendent), and have the right equipment (damage reduction, dex, the all-important phen or bloody butterfly card). Also, while a TU build gives you much leeway in distribution of leftover skill points, ME takes up a huge chunk of the skill tree in terms of prerequisites.

Lacerta Jun 23, 2006 01:48 PM

As noted in the link, diamond build is trying to attain the ultimate in Monkhood, by combining all three possible builds into one "Best of the Best" build. It looks good on paper but when it's actually used it falls faster than the Titanic.

Naturally the specialized builds will be better.

Duminas Jun 23, 2006 02:09 PM

That was an interesting analogy. I think I'll go to the TSS one, then. ;_;

Disembow Jun 23, 2006 05:19 PM

Yes, I was asking about the people. I know about 80 possible builds for each character class from playing around a whole lot. I was mainly curious if I was going to be treading into established "Big player" territory or if I would be a relative explorer in that class profession, because if I am I can easily become the best out of them all in that specific zone. If anyone needs me to explain an auto-falconer for clarification feel free to IM me, I have only posted my build before to my old clan before I left for good, and it has not leaked yet =:)
