I hope to god I can find a limited edition today.

I should have pre-ordered a month ago like my intuition said. Now I could be fucked indeed.

Yep, I'd say the chances are slim, "Jim".

I consider myself quite lucky to get my regular copy of Subsistence before the pre-orders, since I ( as well as many other Canadians) had pretty much a zero chance at the LE.

And she’s like… okay so how does sneaking around and hiding yourself apply to the real world? I was like, “herm, I’ll show you sometime”.

So today at the office, she was out of her cubicle talking to one of the managers and I snuck in and hid myself behind a coat rack and crouched down. Basically I was behind a desk and coat rack but my feet were somewhat sticking out. She walks in and doesn’t suspect a thing. She sits down and looks at her computer. I then whisper, “what’s up?” and TOTALLY freaks her out. She had a good laugh after, and then I said, “Application of experience”. So kids, what’s the story? Crouching down and hiding WORKS (provided they are totally un-expecting it), but now she’s more cautious and I’ve lost the element of surprise. FUNNY!~~~~

Where the heck do you work?

Now all you need is a cardboard box.

I think we should all have cardboard boxes. Maybe even ones that say "Oranges" on them.

In situations like this, it's better to just knock down the enemy rather than kill him. It'll take him much longer to recover than from respawning.

I have a few online questions:

1. I've been getting the following notice the two times I've logged on so far.

Gamefaqs didn't give a solid answer, but the belief is that something needs to be configured in my ports. I'm not sure how to do that though.

That error just states that you can't create your own games for others to join. It has to do with your PS2 being behind a firewall.

http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/gen...6944263&page=0
The above thread should help you with configuring your ports.

Voice taunts are done by pressing the Select button and then using the dpad to select the desired taunt/command/etc. (e.g. press up to get the top taunt, left for the left taunt, etc.)

An office. Lots of cardboard boxes from the workstations and paper.

Is it just me, or can we no longer download extra camo with the LE version? I wonder if they can even be used in this version...

GAH!!!! I should have ordered 3 copies!!!! Damnit.

Megalith Mar 16, 2006 03:52 PM

Sold out my ass. I bet Best Buy and Circuit City have a few copies just sitting there.

I also like how the LE is this cheap cardboard box. Let me guess, the third disc comes in this little thin, brittle looking case.

Cat9 Mar 16, 2006 04:11 PM

Yeah i was dissapointed that the red cover was just a cardboard box. Inside there is the "regular version" along with another dvd case with the third disc. The other case is not a game case (no memory card slot). Its just like a normal DVD movie case.

Oh so you obviously need gold foil to please you? Christ, it's only $10 more.

They misled everyone.

People pre-ordered it thinking it was a unique red case.

Simo Mar 16, 2006 05:35 PM

Yeah I think I'll be selling my copy of the LE version+Saga if they're going for $150+. Besides I can always pick up the regular edition with the Demo Theatre which is basically what Existence is anyways.

Spatula Mar 16, 2006 05:43 PM

Meh, I'm just happy with my regular Subsistence and Medicom Snake. Sup.

At least now I know I'm not missing much.

Soldier Mar 16, 2006 06:05 PM

I never thought it would be a red case. I do wish I bought 2, after seeing those Ebay prices.

I had some great fun online today. I entered a Team Deathmatch in the city, playing against a really tough group of players. They tend to use the rooftops quite a bit, but I learned to adapt by hijaking one roof (killing the two snipers that were using it) and picking off their teammates one by one. Then one of the snipers I took out before tried to take back the roof, and attacked me from behind. I retailiated with a punch/kick combo that ended up knocking him right off the roof. Watching him fall to his death was just hilarious. :D

Does anyone know how much it takes to raise your rank? Right now I'm the lowest rating (Pig), which indicates that I'm prone to getting slaughtered a lot. Would I have to avoid getting killed to raise the rank, or is it all a matter of playtime?

Godai Mar 16, 2006 06:07 PM

I know it's been mentioned but...holy shit.

Soldier Mar 16, 2006 06:11 PM

I still haven't figured out how to:

1) Turn the volume up on my mic.

2) Turn off the echo of my own voice in the mic (really annoying).

Megalith Mar 16, 2006 06:14 PM

You're probably sitting too close to your speakers, which is creating the echo.

Seriously man. I think the only thing I would want out of that LE set is the Saga stuff about the cut scenes and stuff. Isn't thats what's missing in the regular edition? LOL. My Solid Snake was cheaper than that.

Megalith Mar 16, 2006 06:19 PM

eBay has the dumbest people on Earth. They always feel the need to bid 60% higher than the starting price.

Kind of like how I could have gotten the entire run of Spider-Girl, which started at $20. Of course some asshole had to bid up to $100.

Actually the Saga DVD was a pre-order bonus. So you got a copy of that as long as you pre-ordered. Even us Canadians got this bonus.

Got my copy of Subsistence from EB yesterday. Though, gonna wait out and see if I'll be able to get a LE from my online order before I open my RE, just incase a fluke of chance that I get it from there. Ahh, if I had known sooner that it was going to be USA only, I would have made a online pre-order with EB way back when it was still available.

No, the echo comes directly from the earbud of the headset, and into my right ear. Or were you being sarcastic as always?

From what i can see, it is not exactly what the Demo theater is. Existence is a "summary" of the whole story. They leave out enough parts that I feel you would be missing out if you didnt play the whole game through. The "secret demo theater" or whatever they call it seems to be just parodies of certain scenes in the game. I havent unlocked anything (if thats even possible) so I dont know the whole story behind the demo theater.
