This game doesn't have multiple endings, so you know. Just one, single, shitty ending.

I just watched the Game Trailers review for Silmeria. What's really reassuring is that they specifically stated for RPG fans waiting out for FFXII SHOULD NOT MISS VP2, which is such a relief. I'd hate to admit it but my gaming instinct want me me to treat VP2 as more of a time killer rather than an Adventure. At any rate, something that sorta bugs me is the lack of character development from the game, as well as short and trite character history profiles that you read, rather than watch cut scenes in VP1.
Well, 3 more days. I've got mine preordered, and will, for sure, get the guide with it. Double Post: I was just on youtube and found the making of the VP2 Commercials with the live actors. Sorta interesting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWH95pUiiUo |
Has anyone seen the Intro Movie yet? It looks pretty sweet. I assume thats Hrist after Alicia, and not Lenneth.
The only thing that bothered me about the GT's review was they said the game is a grindfest. So I guess that means theres no more experiance orbs, and that might really suck. On my first playthrough of VP1, I used the same characters until the end, since all new characters start at level 1 on hard mode. I never bothered to level them up just to send them to Asgard, in my opinion that was just a waste of time and it made no difference. I really hope they at least have new characters starting out at a reasonable level. |
They make it look like it's Lenneth at first, but then it quickly becomes apparent that it's Hrist. Besides, Lenneth is sleeping during this time period.
It can be a grindfest if you're inefficient. Don't bother levelling until you gain the x2 EXP orb. Don't level anywhere outside of the Palace of the Venerated Dragon (it's the last dungeon before you reach a sort of "point of no return" for special items). You do that, and it's not too bad. |
Hmm isn't the game released today?
|
Yes, today is the game's English release date. However, it is also the ship date for most companies, so I wouldn't expect to see it in stores until tomorrow, unless your stores operate otherwise.
As for grinding, I never had a big problem with that. There are particular areas where the difficulty jumps, but gaining a level or two doesn't take too awfully long and is usually all that is required. |
With VP1 I revisted quite a few dungeons (like the one with the 4 dragons) for constant leveling up. What's interesting is that I never got bored since the battle system was so well done. A first for an RPG for me.

Oddrock Caves?
That place is great. Not only is it a 1 period dungeon, but the vampires there drop Broken Spears which you can later transmute in Crimson Edges which in turn convert to 6.7k MP. Getting 3 Grams is easy that way. |
I can't remember the name, but you have to enter a town before getting to the dungeon. There are a few dragon slayer swords lying around. Also there are moving statues that freeze and sting you when you touch them. Anyways, I did that level like 30 some times and didn't get sick of it, that much.
|
That's Oddrock. The town is Camille.
Strangely enough, that region (Artolia) has virtually no importance or representation in Silmeria, but is tied in deeply to the history of a lot of Einherjar. |

That was the behind the scenes footage for the Japanese VP2 commercials.

Cheesy stuff, but that video's kind of interesting.
I like how they all have that "what the fuck is this shit." look on their faces. |
Valkyrie Profile? What's that. Who cares. I get paid and be on Japanese TV (aside from basically having the best "cosplay" costume made by the company themselves).
|
Ah I see...interesting lol.
|
So, sorta wondering if any North American fans have gotten their mits on this game yet =0. My EB Games says that the preorders will be distributed tomorrow (Sept 27th), so I hope for the best. I like how I told them to phone me at my work number.
|
I got the game earlier today, actually. Too bad Disgaea 2 has been taking up all my time. Mindless leveling ftw.
|
My copy just finished "shipping" over my cable line. I'll play it for 30 mins or so before I leave for class.
|
Wooot game is out!! XD, you can get it here
|
Or we could just buy it? Sounds like a plan.
|
Yes, it's somewhat distressing that people refuse to support the English release of the game, despite the fact that it's a miracle that it was localized in the first place. I know you guys don't need anyone else to play your conscious, but it is really such a shame that you won't support the Valkyrie Profile "brand."
Anyways, I picked up my copy today but won't be able to get into it until this Friday due to classes and work. |
It's even more depressing if you were a fan of the first game who actually wanted a sequel. Anyone who pirates this game, and actually waited and salivated over the thought of a sequel should be shot if they aren't willing to pay for it now that it exists. =P

Just got to chapter 2, man this game is awesome and I know there is gonna be a lot more to it later.

Damn, I just called the EB and the shipment hasn't arrived yet. They say to call back in an hour, or they'll call me. I dunno. ;___;
