Pokemon Battle Revolution (just announced in Japan) will be the first online-multiplayer-enabled game.

This would make the perfect present for.........my brother........

These pics will probably get killed later for hotlinking, but they'll do for now.

kupomog Sep 14, 2006 09:21 AM

Damn, Metroid Prime 3 would've been the launch game that I got if I could get only one (yes, over LoZ:TP). Ah well, there's still lots of other launch games I'm way interested in, thankfully.

Metal Sphere Sep 14, 2006 09:24 AM

Holy shit guys, woke up to a mountain of shit screaming to be added. All of it sounds good though, with the exception of Metroid getting pushed into 2007. If it's for polish and betters the game, I'm all for it.

I'll be waiting for you Samus, baby. =(

Wii version. GameCube version pushed back to December 11th just because Nintendo wants to keep striking those low blows! ='D

Holy crap. 7 pages from when I slept and then got to work in the morning. Osnap, here wii go. Time to catch-up on all this info, and then pre-order as soon as I can...

HazelGuy Sep 14, 2006 09:29 AM

I'm still suprised people are willing to give up the chance to play it with a new control scheme over the new controller. I think it'll take away something from it if you limit yourself to the GC version.

You should see the Penny Arcade threads. We've been through about 140 pages in the last two hours or so. And then 70 from a false coverage report before that. Mind you that was absolutely hilarious once people realised the content was fake.

I was just watching the new game videos again after someone mentioned it and theres one there that looked a hell of a lot like Bushido Blade. We can only hope.

Notice how two very appealing launch games have suddenly gone 2007? ;)
Bye, bye, "Super Mario Galaxy" and "Metroid Prime 3 Corruption". Bye, bye, perfect launch line-up. :(

Its because they want to leave a little cash in your pocket to buy some DS games.

Man, it's going to be torture waiting until after Christmas to get a Wii. I really doubt I can gather the money before then, but it's really nice to see Nintendo packaging Wii Sports with the console. It'll be difficult choosing which launch title to get first too, but it'll most likely be Zelda: Twilight Princess. Trauma Center is tempting since it could become rare like its DS predecessor, but I'll probably hold off on it.

Ugh. What are you talking about Reggie has said it's for the Wii only now.

Do you have anything like the ToysRUs offer over there that nets you a free launch game?

nazpyro Sep 14, 2006 09:40 AM

LOL.

I like how I'm going to the bathroom every 5 minutes (should I say taking a wii?) because of this coverage excitement. It's hard to work right now. :/

I actually budgetted $1000 for Wii stuff this year. It's looking like I might just end up spending a little over half of that. This is great. Alright... going back to the bathroom.

From what I've heard, the Wii version should feel slightly... I dunno, like the game was built for one control scheme (GC) and then rebuilt for Wii.

I'm going for the GC version at any rate. I'm pretty sure the game's going to be great no matter how much you jiggle your hands...

Yeah, since you're stuck on Triti and all.

WHERE DA HEWL J00z GET DAT???? Sex all the way.

The Wii channel idea is genius. Bring in the uncharted market, Nintendo. Lifestyle and gaming. Excellent business strategy. For some reason it's looking like Nintendo could have the upper hand in online (see "when pigs fly" thread in General Gaming).

Did IGN say, "home-brew movies"?

Like, as in, can you play media (apart from photos) by putting on SD cards and sticking it in your Wii (oh behave!)?

HazelGuy Sep 14, 2006 09:51 AM

Well they were talking about you uploaded home movies and real time video editing, which is promising.

Not strictly Wii related news but some new titles from Square slated for release on DS. Also Kingdom Hearts 2esque Action RPG.

Egg Monster Heroes
Rocket Slime
Dragon Quest Monsters
Children of Mana
FFIII
Chocobo game
Mario Hoops
Crystal Chronicles
New Mana game
New FFXII game
New action-RPG IP

chaofan Sep 14, 2006 09:55 AM

Oh, hacker central. This service is bound to be abused... (not that I would...)

Now all I need is news on the Aussie Wii. Release date (probably around Japan's or later), price (approx $350) and Wii Sports Included. Please.

I didn't have a reason to go get a 2GB SD card until I read that. Should be a real cool feature. I'm excited to see more of these features in action.

I haven't heard of anything, but I can dream. Toys 'R' Us' American site doesn't have anything like that listed either.

Stupid Triti... They'd better not appear in Second Opinion.

Wait, would that entail playing .avi files with the Wii? I wasn't planning on buying an SD card, but if I could watch downloaded anime through my Wii with that then this just got even better.

Acro-nym Sep 14, 2006 10:05 AM

Does it sound silly for me to contemplate waiting until more colors are available before I get a Wii? I was so disappointed when they didn't release a red Gamecube in America the last time...

chaofan Sep 14, 2006 10:07 AM

Precisely what I was getting at. DL movies, anime then view them on Wii. Possible?

Is there any impressions on "typing" on the Wii? If I were to use the Opera browser and would want to email and long email, will be it "patiently" possible?

Not really, but then I'm sure some colours will get released down the road, but I sort of doubt red. I'm happy with white, it matches my DS Lite.
