What kind of attitude is that, honestly? I mean, you're half the reason people stop posting. Can't go through one fucking discussion without some prick such as yourself coming in here and flexing his e-dick as hard as he can.

I'm not trying to have an intense heat flame kill each other war here, I mean, we're discussing Smash Brothers for shit's sake. I mean, I understand you're probably some sort of uber-fucking-elite gamer, but by god. Pull your head out of your ass.

Dalkaen Dec 3, 2007 08:07 PM

Jigglypuff is clearly one of the best characters in the game. Anyone who doesn't realize this probably hasn't played with him for more than five minutes. Or hasn't gotten the crap beaten out of them by a good Jigglypuff player. :)

Oh, and calling someone on their bullshit is all well and good, but there's really no need to be so incendiary about it, is there?

Slash Dec 3, 2007 08:46 PM

Yeah...I've actually seen Jigglypuff used EXTREMELY well

Sin Ansem Dec 3, 2007 10:24 PM

I was too lazy to get the link earlier, but apparently nobody else actually found it, so...

Sakurai recently said he will make and improve SSBB as optimum as possible.

He also said there will be many playable characters, more than you can imagine, and he said the team is still adding and programming characters. There will be more 3rd party characters too.

The combo control, he said, is relatively easy to control
But to those who already played Melee, he recommends the GC controller

The best news is that SE will be in the best quality that is fun to play alone. It takes more than 10 hours to complete the story mode.

heres the link for those who want it

(I hope you can read japanese or whatever its in)

This is what I heard on another forum and I didn't translate it myself, just keep that in mind OK?

Cheers!
Hmmm, I hope this ton of characters does not mean clone overload.

Credit goes to verditude for linking to the IGN post.
Ignoring the tier faggotry, I'm going to say that I like Roy and am sad to see him go, because the FE fandom hates him. The FE fandom also hates Micaiah, even though she's one of the few females that actually has a shot in... as a matter of fact, it's not looking good for most females not named Krystal, which makes me sad that SSBB will still be a sausage-fest.

So maybe that link above will help for those who understand Korean?

Zeta26 Dec 3, 2007 11:28 PM

Speaking of 3rd party. I also hope we get to see X of the Mega Man X series. But this time he'd just use his fists or his kicks. Or, another sword weilder. Which would be SVC Chaos' Zero.

But, more than anything, I'm hoping to see Boyd or his brother; Oscar get onboard for this sequel.

trackjacket Dec 4, 2007 12:09 AM

I'd really like to see Nintendo's more obscure, and, generally, unheard of franchises be represented in Brawl in some capacity. Probably, moreso than third party characters. Sonic and Snake are cool, but, meh. I'm sure there's another one or two that we haven't heard of yet, too.

Famicom Tantei Club, Kaeru no Tame ni Kane Wa Naru, Marvelous: Another Treasure Island, Sennen Kazoku, etc.

wvlfpvp Dec 4, 2007 01:37 AM

back to conversation on previous page: How is Jigglypuff one of the worst characters?

It's so fucking cheap. I love it.

Chaotic Dec 4, 2007 01:40 AM

I suppose that people complain that she's too light. Because she can easily be knocked out, means that she doesn't stand much of a chance fighting in battle.

I know, if used correctly, Jigglypuff is a beast. After watching a combo video, it's proved that she's even more a beast in battle.

Oh~ how it is to implement the Rest ability consistently. :3:

Today's Update:

They just talk about returning Pokemon.

Suicune, Lugia, Entei, Staryu, Bellossom, Ho-oh, Wobbuffet, Togepi, Snorlax, Celebi, and Mew.

Because Celebi and Mew are so rare, they have a chance of dropping a present also.

Zeta26 Dec 4, 2007 02:04 AM

Speaking of Brawl. Did anybody catch the following Pokemon that's now been brought to light in the new update?

Dalkaen Dec 4, 2007 02:05 AM

The rare Pokemon giving you a gift thing is interesting, I suppose.

Zeta26 Dec 4, 2007 02:06 AM

Well, especially if it's a CD. You get to have a selection of music pieces played during that stage.

Joe Wiewel Dec 4, 2007 02:09 AM

EDIT: Damn you people.

What Pokémon that's been "brought to light"? They're are all from the last game(s). Nothing new, except that Celebi and Mew drop gifts, which is pretty cool:

The following Pokémon have been confirmed to be returning Brawl in this update:

Suicune, Lugia, Entei, Staryu, Bellossom, Ho-Oh, Wobbuffet, Togepi, Snorlax, and of course, Celebi and Mew.

There are screenshots of each one if you want to take a look.

Zeta26 Dec 4, 2007 02:30 AM

Along with the returning Pokemon, there's also that Rayquaza snake-like dragon Pokemon which;

Spoiler:
He appeared in one of the Emissary Movie scenes, attacking Diddey & Donkey Kong & Fox

Lukage Dec 4, 2007 02:41 AM

Regarding Jigglypuff, she's very good in 1v1, but really does suck in a 4-player match, so the argument can go either way.

Zeta26 Dec 4, 2007 02:56 AM

And it seems that Gamestop.com posted the date of what seems to be the game's official date of the guidebook, February 4, 2008. 6 days from the game's release. Well, seeing as I like collecting these books. I'd go for it IMO.

Chaotic Dec 4, 2007 03:05 AM

I'd probably just get it for the sake of finding out who all the unlockables are.

Actually, I find that's when her roll comes into play. It's even better if you learn how to snipe from the air with it. Totally fucks over your opponents. I'd say her biggest weakness is Link first and foremost, then the other sword users respectively.

She's just so light that it's ridiculously hard to keep her on the level against heavy hitters like Marth, Roy, and Ganondorf.

Honestly though, the best tactic I've found with Jigglypuff is her medium A attack, coupled with her foward A - delightful. The medium A usually negates most other attacks and her forward A is (obviously) her best smash. Sure, the Jigglyball works, but only so much especially when other players learn to counter it (not too hard).

The reason I say she was one of the worst is because she's got such a different style to her. You can't go ten matches playing with Jiggly and then switch to another more normal character (especially with the way she jumps). Another downside is that, excluding her regular B attack, all her B attacks suck. Her up B is virtually usually in Multiplayer, and usually in 1v1 when you're fighting with a character who doesn't have a slow attack speed.

Sure, once you get her down, you've got her, but I wouldn't call it cheap, really. Maybe a beginning Jiggly user would use it cheap, but I've found that with most cheap tactics (excluding Marth's) people eventually find their way around them and turn it to their advantage. A good example of this would be when I try and Jiggly ball Link, then he blocks and counters with an up B on the return.

The_Griffin Dec 4, 2007 04:38 AM

Yes... a down+B move that KO's people at 40% is completely useless.

The fuck are you talking about, cockgoblin? All I'm complaining about is people pretending to know what they're talking about, and you're a prime example. I'm not flexing anything, I'm just sick and tired of how every fucking Smash Bros thread EVER degenerates into the same load of shit. Hell, it's cyclical. It repeats every couple of pages.

Protip: No one's stopped posting on my account. I've posted maybe a dozen times in this thread total, and it seems to be doing fine. Just how clueless can you get? Hell, you've posted what, three times? And you've already proven yourself to be this thread's sexninja.

wvlfpvp Dec 4, 2007 08:49 AM

So how long until there's an update with Dixie as an assist? I mean, that was the only "new" information (well, it was a pic) in Game Informer's Smash Bros preview.

Actually that picture with Dixie and the banana man (who's from Kind of Swing) was in one of the trailers. The entire Game Informer preview was done with material from the site.

Try landing it at any time. If you're not ridiculously close to the person you're fighting and they're not stunned, it leaves you vulnerable.

I'm talking about Jigglypuff. Something that you've already stated you know nothing about. Again, friendly casual conversation, I haven't said anything inaccurate, I haven't made shit up. Your useless I see zero's and one's when I play this game self just needs to pull your head out of your ass. This discussion repeats every couple of pages? WELL WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT HUH, I mean, it's only 60 fucking pages long, dick beaver.

Monkey King Dec 4, 2007 12:10 PM

What is it with the fighting game crowd and acting like a bunch of 12 year olds? Does the genre just naturally attract people who are incapable of growing up?

FatsDomino Dec 4, 2007 12:34 PM

Well we are playing a game which has the premise of playing with figurine/toys of who amount to cartoon characters and having them beat each other up for no real reason other than just cuz. So yeah it's a bit childish but it's fun so whatever.

Well, I figured; that's why I said "new" in quotes. I just don't remember people going OMG DIXIE in the thread.
