I hope they update the US Wii to support the Classic Controller for the GC games~
I like the layout of the Classic Controller, it's so SNES like *_*~~

Niekon Dec 6, 2006 12:57 PM

folks in the Orange County area of SoCal might want to stop by Main Place Mall in Santa Ana. On the lower level near the Crate & Barrel is a Wii kiosk unlike anything I've seen before... I counted six Wii's and HDTV's set up with various games including the upcoming Wii Play.
It was rather interesting to watch people make fools of themselves as they got closer and closer to the tv's hoping that that would improve their gameplay. And the folks hired to run the kiosk were telling them to step back.

Did enjoy my time in Wii Play though... cannot wait to add that to the collection next month even if it means I'm getting yet another Wiimote.

Bah, I never got an email confirming anything other than the order. Had to check it myself.

"Your package is on time with a scheduled delivery date of 12/07/2006."

Kostaki Dec 6, 2006 02:03 PM

You didn't miss much. This is basically all it amounted to.

I'm definitely looking forward to that one too. Gonna pick it up come january plus 2nd Nunchuk :D

Though first I have the Wii itself to look forward to, in another 2 weeks... and my patience is starting to wear dangerously thin...

Lukage Dec 6, 2006 06:30 PM

GOT MY COMPONENT CABLES!

Kostaki Dec 6, 2006 06:44 PM

Lucky you, mine won't be here until tomorrow. I'm just glad I'm getting them all the same, considering the difference that it'll make.

majario Dec 6, 2006 08:50 PM

I should be receiving mine either tomorrow or Friday. I couldn't wait an extra week for Nintendo to ship them so I was able to get them on ebay for $38.

Lukage Dec 6, 2006 09:07 PM

What's weird was it was supposed to be UPS Ground, and they sent it express. Whatever. :D

Amayirot Akago Dec 7, 2006 12:39 AM

I won't need any component cables seeing how I don't own an HDTV anyways :p

Uh, you don't need a HDTV to get better quality out of component cables.

If that were the case, they wouldn't be selling so much.

Got my Wii this morning. :]

I knew it was small but holy shit.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y13...lax/wii006.jpg
Wii Play in all its glory. I'll do a proper write up of this soon, it's pretty fun for what was basically a $4.00 game!

I've also turned into a consumer whore and gotten a VC Points Card. Haven't downloaded anything though. The Aussie line-up is a tad better than IGN had reported. No TG-16 (FUCK YOU NINTENDO), but Donkey Kong Country and F-Zero are up on it!

The system itself spazzed out in a massive way like half an hour after I set it up. Freaked me out. The controller stopped responding, it wouldn't even sync up. The controller that came with Wii Play wouldn't respond either. Then the console made noises and wouldn't turn off, so I unplugged it and let it sit there for a bit. Now it's fine!

No free copy of GT Pro, they had none in stock. Apparently they'll mail me a copy when they get it. I bet I'll have to yell at them. I think there's massive problems with supplies of third party games in general, I snagged the ONLY copy of Monkey Ball at Myer. Saved a PISS LOAD (that's right, an entire load of piss!) of money on the games and paid half price for a second nunchuck.

Yeah, but my PC tuner card only has ports for composite cable.

You lucky, LUCKY BASTARD. I won't be seeing my Wii for at least another two weeks (at which time I'll have the necessary cash, but availability is another factor). Not to mention I won't be able to get Wii Play until the next month.

Also, DKC on the Virtual Console? Isn't that a Rare game? Or can Nintendo put it there since DK is a Nintendo trademark?

FatsDomino Dec 7, 2006 03:17 AM

Nintendo created and owns the Donkey Kong franchise. They can do whatever they want with it, Rare or no Rare.

I'm wondering if I should get a point card from day one. We get Bonk's Adventure, but other than that, I don't know what I should get.

Is the webbrowser out yet?

FatsDomino Dec 7, 2006 03:27 AM

The Opera browser isn't out anywhere yet. Apparantly it'll be out sometime this December.

Thought so. I was hoping maybe they'd already circumvented the whole copyright thing with Rare and would release GoldenEye sometime soon.

But then, Prince of Persia already taught me the valuable lesson that wishful thinking leads only to disappointment.

Let's seeee, there was F-Zero, DKC, the original Donkey Kong (why would anyone buy this ;_; ), Wario's Woods, Mario Bros., Zelda, Pinball, Soccer, Altered Beast, Golden Axe, Sonic 1, Ecco the Dolphin, Super Mario 64.. that's all I can remember. I don't think there was much more anyway.

I want Bonk's Adventure :(.. And Sim City.

Ohmygoodnes Infernal, I totally forgot about VC points! Haven't ordered a single card =o Hopefully no one else has either.

Under twelve hours now till midnight, and picking up my Wii.
I can't remember time going this slow since christmas as a kid. Christmas got seriously pwnd this year.

Tonight, Tonight.

Kilroy Dec 7, 2006 10:37 AM

I'm picking mine up around lunch tomorrow. If they have something exciting to pick up. I signed up for a Classic Controller, so I should get some points. However, can't you buy those over the 'net anyway? Then I don't have to bother buying them in the store.

But seriously, they better have almost everything I want, else I'm going to send hate mail to Bergsala again. They're such shitheels when it comes to sell Nintendo. It's like they don't want people to buy them at all. ("Nyah nyah, we want 'em all!")

Kostaki Dec 7, 2006 10:56 AM

Yeah, you can buy points through the Wii Shop Channel so you don't have to bother with buying the cards.

Elixir Dec 7, 2006 11:16 AM

So I take it the Freeloader works, right Infernal?

If Nintendo had created and owned James Bond then it would only be too easy. Since neither is true it's a hell of a thing and will probably never happen.

Kostaki Dec 7, 2006 12:01 PM

All I want is Tetris Attack, and maybe Nintendo surprising everyone saying "Hey, now you can play VC games online with other people!" which would be fucking awesome.

I would actually get back into Killer Instinct Gold if they enabled VC online play. They really need to do something other than promise new titles in the future to get online moving.
