Wow, looking at everyone elses menu screen makes me realize how much i really hate EVE's. Any select screen reccomendations?
Have you linked to your health bar etc in this thread Woosha?

Uh... I somehow cannot add characters to the EVE version. I searched all folders for "select.def" files... And I followed the tutorial. I added it properly to the file, but it does not appear on the selection screen. Strange enough, no character is assigned in "select.def"... So I wondered where the right place to add it might be. x_x

I just figured it out today by chance. It's under:
Winmugen -> data -> EVEbattle -> select.def
then you put your characters in there to replace the random select boxes.

Make sure the folder name and the def file in it match exactly

I love the look of that KOF lifebar, but the only beef I have is that it doesn't display the character name. As for the selection screen, I do aggree there are snazzier looking ones than EVE, but the problem is that there appear to be less ? boxes to put your characters in. The benefit of EVE being practical is that it has lots of room for hundreds of characters.

You know what we really need? A MUGEN wiki or something that gives info on all these characters. I know barely 1/4 of the people included, so I'm constantly wondering who this character is a custom of, or if it's someone completely original.

Also, I know have a new priority: characters from Neon Genesis Evangelion. I'll take any that you find. Perhaps someone created customs of EVA pilots using martial arts (my sister would die if someone made an Asuka character complete with moves)?

Thanks WooshaQ it works great now. Two more questions and probably last, I have this one character (MechaPotenkim) and he does not take any damage at all no matter how many times I hit him, how do I fix that? And what's that one program that fixes the character icon in the character select screen, I have some that have black icons, empty icons, distorted color icons..etc?

The character needs to be converted with dos2win for the pictures to properly come up.

So far so good on finding characters, however I wonder if anyone has or knows where to get a Shinobi character, and also if there is one, a Captian Falcon Character?

From my point of view it is useless to have these hundreds of characters. As 90% of them will be unbalanced / buggy, playing with or against them will be no fun. I used to think in the past that good mugen should have +100 chars but after half of them caused mugen to act wierd I selected only the best ones and I cannot really complain from that time. Now I have about 40 best fighters and it's ok.

Actually there is, it's a custom game based on mugen engine and it comes with installer, but you can install it and later just copy the chars into your mugen, with a bit of luck they'll work correctly. The same way I got MK stages from Mortal Kombat game. LINKY

So the torrent link works but there aren't any peers.

My BitTorrent client times out every time because it takes more than 5 minutes to connect to peers (therefore, I suspect there aren't any).

Can someone please help? I've heard a lot of great things about Mugen (mostly from this thread :p) and I'd like to get started.

I've also been interested in Mugen (mostly from Youtube vids) and I'm rather interested in getting into it/adding to it... if anyone could hook me up with the torrent I could seed it for at least a few weeks (not really using my bandwidth atm).

Conicidently I just got into mugen (wow, how to miss a train, eh?) and have about 22 chracters and 10 or so stages (I'm not aiming for some mass orgy of fighting the likes of EvE accomidates and I'm not haveing 10 versions of Ryu).

Oh yeah, and I have Nagato Yuki from Haruhi and (even better) she has a "Hoto-no-Ken"-ism and even has a fatial KO to go with it (Complete with "You WA SHOCK!" instrimental).

To Light_Alchemist, Cyric and others... You guys tend to rely on other work too much, believe me it is more fun to create your personal mugen from the scratch. Go to http://randomselect.i-xcell.com/, browse character section, screenpack, lifebar and stage section. Mix all together and you have your mugen. It's really easy, I will help if in case of any problems so make some effort and make something unique!

And I agree with WooshaQ about starting MUGEN from scratch. I used the shortcut and downloaded a torrent version of it, it was so buggy and more than half of the chars don't even work. I just went to the site mentioned above, streetmugen.com, mugenfury.com, and googled up on random sites to find characters/stages/addons. It's really better that way.
