All my subs have been from YF/AU. Hopefully this isn't the only release, or it will RUIN MY CONSISTENCY.

Can't wait to watch it though. Last episode probably had the most leave-you-wanting-more feeling yet. I was forced to play an extremely long game of Tetris in the meantime. ;_;

Yeah I'm just watching it. I'll watch it once and wait for [YF] release and download it later. If you want to compare each release go HERE. Back to watching.

this may be late in coming, since i was just going through a recap of all episodes subbed so far,
but has anyone else noticed in #4...

What's with the h.264 HD releases? They stopped releasing them after the third episode. Is there a particular reason for that or am I just too stupid to actually find them? Damn, Ergo Proxy actually started to be interesting ...

I've been following the releases from Shinsen-Subs in this regard.

h.264 HD was stoped after [AU] left the building and [Yoroshiku] was alone. [AU] is making seperate release now.

OK I was watched RAW 08. No translation... damn! I don't understand much but made few screen caps to show you all out new interesting player =) At the end Proxy battle out beautiful killer.


Few new tracks ware added and we got new music peaces. Cool btw =). Can't wait for Sub Release!!

This episode also proves that the protagonist's name is Real Mayar instead of Lil. Shinsen Subs were the only ones who got it right from the start.

I really start falling in love with this Anime now. It's one of the few I've seen in a while that actually keeps me interested. Especially now that the plot is really picking up some pace.

Finally viewed episodes 6 & 7. Her real name is "Real" but it seems that wasn't intended to be showed until that scene. Hence, "Lil" sounds correct until then, to avoid spoiling.

Can't wait for episode 8. If I udnerstand Pino correctly, this should appeal to all who have a fasciantion with all that is shiny.

I've still to see episode 7 since I've been waiting up on Yoroshiku's subs, though lately it's started to take much more time for their releases to come out.

Can anyone comment on Anime-Jiyuu's work? Are they any good? At least are they as good as Yoroshiku? If so, and they seem to be able to release stuff pretty quickly, I might just have to switch over to them. Yoroshiku just take too damn long now.

All fan sub teams are taking they're damn free time drinking tea instead of HARD WORKING ON TRANSLATION!! I already downloaded RAW Episode 09 and [Yoroshiku] didn't even made 7th one ready... [Anime-Jiyuu] is quite good at it. I have to say that [Y] made more fan friendly names like: Pet-Type Auto-Rave instead of [J] Child-Type... WTF? Pino is rather Pet type then Child Type... but it's all bit twisted. Here you can see a Vs of all (most) of Fansub teams working on Ergo Proxy. I'm not going to switch to [J] but I'll be watching new episodes from they first releasing team.

As for Real name... it was shown earlier HERE only Fansub team that used it was [Shinsen-Subs] but they SUX.

After watching Episode 09 on RAW I think that she's Re-l =). Rest of you just wait and see =D. Besides this Proxy thing is even deeper then you all think =)

This is one of the few shows I am actually watching this season. Love the opening song and animation. It has been a good series so far. Mysterious characters, interesting story, and good animation have me in it for the long haul. Manglobe didn't dissapoint with Samurai Champloo and I doubt they will with Ergo Proxy.

I am watching the fansubs in whatever order they come out in first. Choosing one fansub group over another is not something I do unless I am seeing less than desirable subtitles. Whoever is first to release an episode is usually who I go with.

So, is it official what her name is yet? Lil, Ril, Lir, Real, Re-L, Panda Bear? Personally, I prefer Lil as it just sounds more real(pun intended). I know her ID said her name is Real though. Just don't want to accept it yet. I do remember reading that her name is Lir in the English localization though. If I am not mistaken it said so in Newtype-USA.

Well her real name is Real but you may type it Re-l so it's not so simple. There was many versions same like name of Vans brother in FF XII =) Lex, Reks, Rex Lerx =D.

Shinsen-Subs have released Episode 4 in XviD/MP3 as well as h.264/AAC HD format.

Now there's no doubt that these are the most accurate translations you'll get for Ergo Proxy, since they took their time to research books of a French philosopher who is quoted in the anime.

They also promise to release new episodes more frequently now that this issue has been resolved.

Well... maybe yes. They didn't even made karaoke of opening and ending... and as far as I can see HERE [Yoroshiku] & [Anime-Jiyuu] only have Nots about unknown words. Only fact that they used proper name of inspector Real.

Which is a huuuuge plus in my book.

That's because they attach these notes at the end of each episode, which is another reason why Shinsen-Subs are top notch when it comes to quality and accuracy:

I have to agree with rock, although I loathe their policy in general, they put a lot of effort in Ergo Proxy, and it's worth it this time. And why the hell would you need a karaoke for songs in bloody ENGLISH.

Enkidu: Because it's a well-known fact that Thom Yorke (Radiohead) has carefully developed a singing technique in which he simply produces a series of moans, and accelerates those moans instantaneously through process of practiced caterwaul to specific pitches, and our ears attempt to recognize the various moans and such as words. The karaoke is the closest that linguists could come to analyzing the moans for what words they seem to represent, no matter how haphazard and thrown-together the lyrics may appear.

Just kidding. It's unnecessary, even for Thom Yorke singing the very strange lyrics of that song. It's also hilariously out of context, save the Macintosh Voice program bits; all of the lyrics are part of a larger whole that I regard as brilliant after about, oh, 500 listens. Again, sarcasm. I do love that song, and it really does feel a bit awkward to only play that much of a more than six minute song.

Hmm I'll try it =)
