It doesn't? I thought it did - the GameFAQs writeup says the game has some sort of Jukebox, so I assumed it was a sound test.

I'm glad I can turn off SFX and vocals completely though, makes it easier.

Darkcomet72 Jun 3, 2006 11:58 AM

Oh wow... you're right. I just checked. I never bothered to beat Frantic Finale in Mirror Mode. I guess it would be worth it so you don't get the engine sounds in the music.

Jukebox is most likely the sound test. In DKR, the Jukebox was the sound test.

I'll need a bit of research since I've never played it but in due time I'll get it done.

Wow. That's the one I was planning on doing next, myself. You can go ahead and do it if you like, I've only done a preliminary analysis.

I see questions about the jukebox and such as well posted, I'll tell you what I found:

The jukebox is a cheat, I don't know what unlocks it, all I know is that I have it under the cheat menu.
Once you toggle the jukebox cheat on, it is not apparent how to access it; to do so, you go to the volume settings, and an interface for the jukebox will be there.
One big problem: All the tracks are unlabeled. They are titled "Track 1" and so on. I think there were 43 tracks in all.

Basil Jun 3, 2006 02:56 PM

Hahaha, this was your next rip? o_0

Thanks for the jukebox tip, I'll try it out later. Maybe I don't need to play through the game after all... but maybe I should anyway just in case I don't miss any tracks. >_>

Unagi Jun 3, 2006 03:13 PM

Yeah, it was. But I don't mind, less work for me! I'll just find something else to do when I get the itch to rip again.

I have just one request I'd like to make ^^.

Nintendo DS -- Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan

There is a compilation floating around with the original songs, but unfortunately, there's nothing with the covers actually featured in the game~ If anyone could rip the soundtrack, that would be spectacular ToT~~~!

eriol33 Jun 4, 2006 09:39 AM

hey it's Megsl83 from ffshrine. Nice to see you here. ^^

... but hard to do, too. As far as I remember you can't turn sfx off, there's no sound test.... :(

megsl83 Jun 4, 2006 04:27 PM

Hiya Eriol ^^! (And woo, nice new icon *_*)

And ack, thanks for the info, Cubed~~~~ That really blows ;_;~ I wonder if iNiS did that on purpose XD;;;;;? I'm still holding out hope that a soundtrack might pop up from them, but I know it'll more than likely never happen, hahahaha XD.

[Edit] Fixed the company name~ ^^;;

Well, I think it was more like streaming samples into SPC700 chip (SNES sound chip).
It had 64kb of memory, so streaming samples to it could get around that limitation as the whole music wasn't held in that SPC memory.
Sounds about right. The Clayfighter soundtrack is dumpable, save for the title song with attached vocals. Also explains why a lot of emulators balk at playing the announcer's sound effects.

It's probably possible to cobble together workable SPCs for Lord of the Rings by mining the ROM for the music segments and then chaining them all together, but you'd need to enable a special hack in all the SPCs players just for that one game. Probably way more trouble than it's worth. Alas.

Can someone rip Hitman: Blood Money? I have the Xbox version but I think all the data files are compiled into like 7x 250MB pieces and that's a pain. Perhaps the PC version is easier to extract?

Anyways... thanks.

Basil Jun 7, 2006 05:25 PM

Hitman: Blood Money has already been ripped by Killy. You can get a torrent of it over at GM-Realm.net

Equinox Jun 7, 2006 06:29 PM

Got it -- thanks!!

cubed Jun 14, 2006 08:46 PM

if anyone cares, I have a Shadowgate 64 rip, but I don't remember if it's good quality and/or complete. But I know that it was his first gamerip. (but I don't remember who he was ;_; )

EDIT: I just checked. there's a txt with the rip:

"This RIP was made by Raynor with his computer and his N64

There are some "intruder " sounds but it was impossible for me to avoid it

Hope you'll like the music ;-)"

anyone knows Raynor ?

Anyone wanna take a crack at ripping Harvest Moon: Magical Melody for the Gamecube? I don't think MI is planning a OST anytime soon for it.

eriol33 Jun 16, 2006 09:57 AM

Guys, I have finished ripping x/1999 (20 files, 40 mb) and Rayman Millenium Adventure (50 files, 62 mb). has anyone ripped the latter? I have problem to name the tracks because my psx already broken. ><

minkeyboodle Jun 17, 2006 07:15 PM

O.K. Hows about Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Cristmas Oogies Revenge for PS2 or X-box (if it helps I have the ISO from my own try to rip the music)

It's already been ripped by DVDRick. ;)

Sonic 3 Jun 18, 2006 04:05 AM

Hey, and can anyone rip that Pokemon Diamond for me? Ya know the hacked pokemon game on the Gameboy. Cheers!

Still can't find an nsf of Adventures of Tom Sawyer on the Nes....so have to rely on someone ripping it fer me....

Perhaps there should be some sort of cutoff, for requests, until the current ones have been filled? I'm thinking 100 request should be enough. I mean all ya have to do is go down, pick up the game, complete it, ripping one time tunes from them as you go through, take it back to the shop, get your cash back. LOL but if it was that easy, I would be doing it myself!!!

Seriously, thanks to all the guys who are taking the time out to get these done for noobs like us (Blue_Kirby in particular!)

eriol33 Jun 18, 2006 09:38 AM

I have finished ripping Torneko: the Last hope, has anyone done the rip before?

Um...which one is it? I've never watched the Harry Potter series.

Basil Jun 18, 2006 05:07 PM

Harry Potter 3 is The Prisoner of Azkaban, correct?
I never was that interested in Harry Potter.
