Its Melbourne Docklands, Australia! (Probably not but oh well)

Zergrinch Aug 26, 2007 10:42 AM

That wouldn't be Bangkok, Thailand, would it? Sort of reminds me of the river I took a brief cruise in...

Famous last words

That building on the right is the Federation Tower under construction in the future complex that will be known as Moscow International Business Center.

Thus, it's Moscow, Russia.

That it is. Which means it's your turn again.

Dullenplain Aug 26, 2007 05:34 PM

Okay, here's the new city to guess:

Using some skyscraper sleuthing, and the nearby geography, I'm going to guess that the tower off in the distance is the Tuntex 85 Skytower in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

Dullenplain Aug 26, 2007 06:43 PM

That would be correct.

packrat Aug 26, 2007 07:16 PM

Thanks. 'Tweren't easy.

So here is the next one. There is a chance it'll be a dead giveaway, but I'm willing to accept that risk.

The Great Hall-Mosque in Riyadh looks alot like this building, this could be an old picture of Riyadh - KSA..

packrat Aug 26, 2007 09:12 PM

No, this is a relatively recent picture of that mosque; though the actual date I am unsure of.

CryHavoc Aug 27, 2007 12:52 PM

Then i'd assume its somewhere in Marakesh, Moroco

packrat Aug 27, 2007 05:20 PM

Wrong side of Algeria.

Zyzex Aug 27, 2007 05:48 PM

Hmm, with hints from the other posts...Casablanca?

nabhan Aug 27, 2007 06:03 PM

I'm going to assume it's in Libya then. Tripoli?

TheKnightOfNee Aug 27, 2007 07:11 PM

In case it's not in Libya, I'd say that's in Tunis, Tunisia.

packrat Aug 27, 2007 07:43 PM

Casablanca is in Morocco.

Also, TKoN is correct with the Tunisia guess. But its not Tunis.
This is the tallest, and most famous, Mosque in the country.

Now might be a good time to think about using Google.

nabhan Aug 27, 2007 11:15 PM

Kairouan by searching "Tunisia Mosque" on google.

packrat Aug 28, 2007 12:39 AM

Yes.
I guess I should have figured this would be problematic, considering I can't think of a single reason why I know about the mosque in the first place.
Your turn.

nabhan Aug 28, 2007 03:27 PM

This one shouldn't take too long to figure out (hopefully).

YO PITTSBURGH MIKE HERE Aug 28, 2007 03:48 PM

I can only assume New York City.

nabhan Aug 28, 2007 03:56 PM

That it is not. I don't think NYC has as many trees running along the street.

YO PITTSBURGH MIKE HERE Aug 28, 2007 03:58 PM

I did notice that, albeit after I had already posted. The architecture looks distinctly American, though, and the highest-density city in the country immediately came to mind. Am I allowed to guess again? Because I had a strange feeling it might have been Chicago.

nabhan Aug 28, 2007 05:47 PM

I'm not sure if you're allowed to guess again but it doesn't really make a difference. It's not Chicago, and it's not in America for that matter either.

Dullenplain Aug 28, 2007 10:31 PM

Is that Buenos Aires? Only a city as vast as that could have streets that extend into forever like in the picture.

nabhan Aug 28, 2007 10:48 PM

Not quite, but right continent!
