Mario's magic wand?

Helloween Feb 7, 2007 03:56 PM

Is it Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis?

Summonmaster Feb 7, 2007 04:03 PM

Isn't that Mario and Wario for SNES?
I know for sure that one game had Mario with a bucket over his head for a while, and that was the gimmick. Forgot the backstory.

Domino Feb 7, 2007 04:08 PM

Goddamn it Summonmaster, you beat me to it. It is Mario and Wario for the SNES. Amazing what a Google search of "Mario bucket" can find.

Yay! Found the exact image after confirming with a google search, so I'm pretty sure I have it correct. So you can just guess this one instead ;)

I would have played this for a long time since it looked neat, but the controls were annoying.

The controls drove me nuts as well, so I sold mine. Been recently replaying the game on my PSP and it's quite atmospheric. If still hideously frustrating cause of the viewpoint.

That would be Equinox, correct?

Isometric games always have lousy controls. >_<

Back in the ol' days this was the bomb. Think of Landstalker and Mystic Towers.

How much I hated Mystic Towers, and how much I want to play it now. It's insane. You made me do it, Q!

Summonmaster Feb 7, 2007 07:35 PM

Yes it is Equinox indeed. Have at it :)

Adol Feb 7, 2007 10:43 PM

Okay, since I haven't posted in this thread yet, I'll probably miss the (difficulty) mark by a few miles. Just like Rex Grossman.

Super Tecmo Bowl!

One of the few pics I'd recognize, and I'm too late.

They should totally have made special SNES pads with the dpad at a 45 degree angle, like an x instead of a +

The game becomes a lot more bearable once you learn the heal spell and later get a better weapon. But the boss fights are still hideous. GOT HIT ONCE? HAHA START OVER

Amayirot Akago Feb 10, 2007 09:03 AM

Someone gonna post a new one?

Helloween Feb 10, 2007 05:03 PM

If no one else is then i will

http://img76.imageshack.us/img76/3425/letterpicmp6.jpg

It should be mainstream enough to qualify, but obscure enough to keep you guessing

Amayirot Akago Feb 10, 2007 05:25 PM

God, that looks familliar... Silent Hill 4?

Solis Feb 10, 2007 05:26 PM

Oh, Clock Tower 3, isn't it? I wouldn't have had any idea were it not for the fact that I played the game for the first time a few weeks ago.

Summonmaster Feb 10, 2007 05:49 PM

I was going to guess Clock Tower 2 since I remember that Alyssa sort of had that uniform and read a letter, but I remember that it looked nowhere as good as that cap (PS1 obviously) but it didn't dawn on me to think of CT3. Aagh, close, but not close enough.

Helloween Feb 10, 2007 07:19 PM

It is indeed Clock Tower 3.

Solis Feb 10, 2007 08:19 PM

Here's one I'm hoping is moderately well known:

Spring?

StarmanDX Feb 11, 2007 12:24 AM

Total Annihilation, isn't it? I remember there must have been hundreds and hundreds of user-made units available; made the game a bit confusing once I had so many.

Solis Feb 11, 2007 01:06 AM

Yup, it's Total Annihilation. I think at least a few dozen units and structures were added in the expansion, and then there were user-made packs of them too. I think one compilation pack had to start removing old units to make room for new ones because they reached the limit of 512.

Also, TA's spiritual sequel (a very worthy one at that), Supreme Commander, releases later this week.

Yeah, I've seen my brother playing the demo. The sheer size of the battlefields is amazing.

Anyways, this should be plenty easy:
