UK gets TMNT, but USA gets Excitebike.

Excitebike - NES
Beyond Oasis - Genesis
Splatterhouse - TurboGrafx16

You have to be kidding. We get Excitebike instead of TMNT? Oh well, I'm not heartbroken since it's not TMNT2, but that's still an unfair trade-off.

Turtles did not come out for US. Excitebike did. :(

I'm still waiting for my Mario RPG. >=|

This makes me wonder, all the good games came out after the new year which leads me to thinking...

Everyone at Nintendo had REALLY hard hangovers and released good games and now they're beginning to sober up and resuming to screw over a huge game market in the US

Lukage Mar 19, 2007 06:29 PM

Before any more VC releases, I need external hard drive support...

I've yet to store any games on the 2GB SD card I have, but the console is full. And that's without any N64 titles. Imagining what would happen if Neo-Geo started to rape the little space left on the machine, I do hope Nintendo is keeping this in mind and giving us some more storage options.

Do you actually play all of them on a regular basis? If not, why not just delete some of them and download them again when you want them?

Damn. I wish it did.

Actually, when I was on the shop channel, I only saw two games (no Excitebike). I restarted the channel again to "refeash it" and not only it didn't show Excitebike but the images didn't load either. o_O

IGN says there's a glitch where Excitebike doesn't show up on the new games list. It's still under NES games and alphabetically, though.

:( I'm just moving them to the SD card for now.

It shows up a page later.

I hate you, Nintendo. 3/26/2007 U.S. Release

Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV: Wall of Fire

SuperSonic Mar 26, 2007 11:10 AM

I had to look under Beyond Oasis to notice that was the newest addition. Man...that's disappointing this week. I've never even heard of that game.

Yeah, I like how Nintendo can't even get their shit straight for the VC menu. Last week, Excitebike was on the second page.

Not like it's a huge deal, but it kind of defeats the entire purpose of having a "latest releases" sort option. :/

Buizel Mar 27, 2007 09:13 PM

What happen to once-a-month-N64 game?! :/

SuperSonic Mar 27, 2007 10:10 PM

Oh that happened this month, they released Ocarina of Time...unless they didn't do that where you live. Hopefully in April, we can finally do a barrel roll!

BlueMikey Mar 27, 2007 10:27 PM

I'm continually astonished at how slow they are releasing games. I really, really don't get it. The NES, SNES, and Genesis libraries are HUGE. A lot of people missed a huge portion of N64 games when the PSX game out.

For having done almost everything else right, this is a huge, huge letdown.

I think this must've been the plan all along. The way the VC shop is organized, there will be no way to find anything once there are hundreds of games. I mean, scrolling through page after page that lists only 4 titles per page? It would take 20 minutes to purchase Zelda if there were 100 NES titles in front of it for cryin' out loud. I really hope they revamp the VC shop for easier browsing/purchase with future updates.

FatsDomino Mar 27, 2007 11:46 PM

Yeah, the shop is kind of slow. I hope they add more games per page and have it load faster. I find it ridiculous that there's any loading at all when pressing the back button.

Mikey, I've been complaining about VC since the beginning. I expected a fuckton come launch like Japan got despite only launching a couple weeks after us but Nintendo seems happy doing it slow and steady to make sure they can milk each title as much as possible. You see, if they were to put out all the greats then noone would even think about spending points on Soccer or Hockey.

BlueMikey Mar 28, 2007 12:26 AM

Is anyone buying Soccer?

DarthSavior Mar 28, 2007 02:27 AM

Oh how I wished the Phantasy Star games (most notably II and III) were released on the VC. ;_;

WTF? I thought it was release at the end of February. Guess I owned the original (N64 cart), the pre-order with Master Quest and Collection disc for the GCN that I didn't bother/forget about OoT on VC. :/

So how many months until Blast Corps is released? I'll make a note on my calender especially for this occasion. It'll be like, like a second christmas or something.

Is any of the Rare shit even getting on VC?

FatsDomino Mar 28, 2007 12:35 PM

Probably not. I mean why should Microsoft let any Rare games on the Virtual Console when they have their own arcade to worry about. DS ports and GBA ports of Nintendo licensed property to Rare and the occasional original GBA/DS game are one thing but Microsoft doesn't have a portable for Rare to shove portable games onto. If it didn't have anything to do with Nintendo's characters which basically means anything that wasn't Donkey Kong then I wouldn't expect to see it on the Virtual Console. Unless Microsoft and Rare both agree and say fuck it to developing their own N64 emulation or rather rebuilding those games up from scratch for Live Arcade I just don't see it happening. Then again you never know!

Donkey Kong Country is on Virtual Console. Expect the two sequels and Donkey Kong 64 and possibly Diddy Kong Racing (although unlikely due to Banjo and Conker being in it; they'd probably be removed; plus there's the DS port that JUST came out but I'm thinking a year or two down the road at the rate VC titles are being released anyway). Any other titles from Rare and I'll be amazed. I'd love some Snake Rattle 'n' Roll.

Slash Mar 28, 2007 04:21 PM

I'd like the original Perfect Dark...like that'd ever happen

Infernal Monkey Apr 12, 2007 04:05 AM

The OFLC (Aussie version of the ESRB) has confirmed Streets of Rage 2, Toe Jam and Earl in Panic Funkotron, Kid Chameleon, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Golden Axe II, Shining in the Darkness and Shining Force. Comin' soon oooone day!

The Plane Is A Tiger Apr 12, 2007 04:09 AM

Streets of Rage 2 is confirmed now? YES. I was only recently informed that sequels to that glorious game even exist, so I can't wait to try them out.
