Nope, but FFXII.net or whatever it's called has an extensive list. Most of them are FFT Zodiac monsters and others are Totema from FFTA.

Hey, that's neat. Is Vaan kicking that creature? His hair looks drastically different too (probably a motion effect?)...

Why does the middle shot look like it's taking place in a space hangar? :/

kainlightwind Mar 11, 2006 05:31 AM

If you think about it, if FFXII's gameplay was exact to FFXI's...it would be the best MMO out there. The demo I found addicting. I love the fact that no one's just standing around waiting for their turn (turn based) and everything is active. This game is going to bring back SE's fire big time no doubt and we're going to get something big on the PS3 in the future. Though I'd hate to say it, but I think SE's venture into the next gen games will start with a remake of FFVII.

Hello_Kitty Mar 11, 2006 08:09 AM

kainlightwind i don't think they'll do FFVII on the ps3, although i woudl like it, i think all the voice acting, the fact that they would make it HUGE would spoil the original FFVII, because i think the PSX version has some kind of desperate and really human feeling about it that i don't want it to be modified

> as for FF12, they said the famistu guy spent 100 Hours to beat the game

plus the fact that you don't waste time between each battles :

it used to be :
-----------------------
5 secondes for the screen to change to battle mode + 2 seconds to choose your actions + time wasted for each characters action + 5 seconds wasted with victory dance + 5 seconds wasted for Gils and items screen
-----------------------

so basically FF12 = no wasted time = more gameplay + guy beat the game in 100 hours = Longest FF ever !!!!!!!

Kuhazan Mar 11, 2006 09:52 AM

I just think of FFXII as Parasite Eve with party members... haha

Satsujinken Mar 11, 2006 01:40 PM

New screenshots are interesting.. Exciting!

For me, I think FFXII is going to be the last game and one of the best games on the PS2.. This will be perfect to end the PS2 era, after a lot of hours playing this game (before going on to the next generation RPGs).

It looks like it but then the characters aren't just restricted to using weapons IIRC.

The middle shot looks like it's onboard an airship to me.

I think it's just the angle of the camera that made Vaan's hair look like that.

It's probebly the comibnation of the grainy and fuzzy picture quality, the frentic and busy action on the screen and all the shades of grey that are present there in the shot. Keep in mind that FFXII's world is a nice little blend of magic and fantasy and futuristic Sci-Fi.

This game can very well make up for this gen's lackluster showing in RPG's when compared to the gen before it.

Simo Mar 12, 2006 01:38 AM

New screenshots, albeit small. They look to be captured from the actual game, no real spoilers though...
http://img240.imageshack.us/img240/9...p1754519di.jpg

So it looks like the title screen is a rolling demo allowing you to choose "New Game" or "Load Game" without having to skip the demo or press start.

What's also interesting is that the top left screen looks like an options display on the title screen. Perhaps the menu pops up allowing to configure the game the moment you choose "New Game"....?

FFXII REALLY look like VS in these shots, heh. I'm wondering if that guy in the 3rd Screenshot is a Durai...

Soldier Mar 12, 2006 03:58 AM

Probably a long shot, but does anyone think they can translate the text in the options menu?

Hantei Mar 12, 2006 06:22 PM

"Kiss Me Good-Bye" from Angela Aki's new single is out now, release by AznMP3! Here's a YSI for both the single and FFXII version. Pretty good song.

Many thanks for the links, Hantei :).

The song is pretty good, as is the symphonic poem "HOPE" too. You should check that one out if you haven't yet, it's available on #gameMP3s.

Wicked. Thanks for the links, Hantei. :)

Looks like one lucky SOB managed to slip by Sony's ninjas....

Sony issued a notification to retailers that if anyone broke the March 16th street date then they would face a penalty or "counted on sanctions".

Godai Mar 12, 2006 09:07 PM

Oh snap, the game and the single early. The single isn't out 'til Wednesday, that was quick.

Andrew Evenstar Mar 12, 2006 09:46 PM

Simo,

nice pic, THAT LUCKY SOB!!!

Some people just can't wait. :kitsune: :edgartpg:

Oh well, I (as well as a *FEW* others) wait patiently for MGS3:SUB.

JazzFlight Mar 12, 2006 10:53 PM

MAN, I want this leaked SO bad.

It had better not be a DVD9, or I'll cry (I can only burn single-layer).

Simo Mar 12, 2006 11:14 PM

The official site updated with 2 new TV spots under "Trailers & Music".

I was bored, what else could i have done~~!
since the screen wasn't very clear, so this is as much as I can make sense of it. I held no liability for incorrect translation *hehe*

Code:

Shit, about 9000 yen = $90 CDN. Well actually that's not too surprising. I remember seeing quite a few new games, including FFX-2 (in May 2003) selling for about that much whilst in Akihabara. Meh, they can afford it.

You've already provided enough! At least that confirms an options menu of some sort popping up once you choose "New Game". Thanks for the translation. :)

Yeah a few GAFers at Gaming-Age who are located in Japan commented how expensive games are, especially the retail price for FFXII.

Out of curiosity though but how many people here are actually importing it or located in Japan and plan on playing it?

CuteChocobo Mar 12, 2006 11:40 PM

I preordered mine approximately AUD$142... so yeah, most Jap games are expensive~~
