The angry sun could be for those really hot days, and the normal sun could be for just the sunny days :) |
God damn that's good.
The sounds scream "Nintendo"! Well, the clicks and whirrs when the site is moved along... |
I'm not impressed with the pricing. Prices of Virtual Console games is a bit too much. Who the hell wants to pay $5 for an NES game? I've got no problems with the $250 Wii price, considering what comes with it. But customers with an IQ less than 100 may think the Xbox 360 Core is better value, with it's better graphics and all.
Dashboard looks nice. Can someone tell me why a console needs a weather channel. |

Also, fellow aussies, Toys'R'Us is offering a free launch title when you preorder a Wii. So you're getting a 2 Games + Console for around $350. Shit yeah. And finally some more Fire Emblem footage. Oh shits, I need to check what November 19th is here. Nooooo. Its a Sunday. Looks like its time to dust off a couple of sickdays. |
I don't know why people are bitching about the $250 price tag. It's still the most affordable next-gen console on the market, and it's not like they said it would be any less. The hype had us hoping for less, but realistically, $250 is a good price. If it was less, some consumers might think of it as being too cheap and not a good system, as opposed to a great system for less.
Virtual Console games... Well, it's not ideal, but you pay for convinence. I have every single NES and SNES game with some Genesis games emulated on my Xbox for free. The downfall? My Xbox rarely works and the controller sucks. With Virtual Console, you're essentially paying for convinence, and also, more variety with MSX/PC Engine games. I don't mind the prices. I just won't buy any NES games because after thinking more about it, I feel $5 is a bit too much. $10 for N64 games is solid though. I actually think the weather and news channels are nice features. They're marketing this thing as more than a game machine, and they actually used their brains and added on some stuff that matters. I can totally see myself using those features. |

But Kaga, you don't get it. It's called "playing on the go". And playing a perfect port in front of the TV is better than on the PC. Oh yes, I do get it. |

Nintendo: Won't be more than $250. Everyone: Yay! Nintendo: $250 + a game. Everyone: :cussing: |
The American conference has just started, IGN's doing live updates here.

Wonder if you'll be able to pause your game and then access the dash board and talk with people in the waiting room. Be a great way to instantaneously compare strategies, and get help with games.

9:33 EST: Reggie takes stage again. Says Wii Tennis Wii Golf, Wii Baseball, Wii Bowling and Wii Boxing are all included in the Wii Sports disc. Calls it a five-game compilation. "This is designed to get everyone involved playing." Game will be packed with Wii. Everyone'll get it when they buy the system.
"We'll also offer consumers the widest range of launch titles ever in the history of videogames. The list is big and -- as you'll see -- it's new and nostalgic. Unique. Delivering a brand new type of entertainment." Yes. Boxing guys, boxing. The demo in the vid looked great. Punch Out is back! Quote:

Q: First-party games will be $49.99. Will third parties price at $59.99? A: We encourage third parties to price appropriately. Shit yeah, you tell them. |
Okay, after a good night's rest I'm glad to have waken up and seen the good news. November is still kind of late but it's tons better than Japan's December date.
250$ for the price isn't too bad. I was pretty much expecting that range anyways. I am a little dissapointed by the prices for the extras. I planned to do alot of multiplayer gatherings with the Wii. Since it only comes with 1 controller that means I've got to go out and buy a wiimote and a nunchuck just for a second player. If I have two more people I've got to buy even more. So I'll be paying, what.. 100-150$ extra for 3 more people? I'm pretty interested in the Mii thing. I'm a fag for creating characters so making a mini me for the Wii will be a little fun. Sticking them in the games I play will be entertaining as well. I also like how I'll be able to use it to interact with other people or carry it to other Wiis on my controller. I'm assuming we'll have some kind of lobby or chat room system we can stick our characters in and chat with others? I know it was said there's message boards and stuff for Wii users.. but what about something for the mini people we make? I'm not really too excited about the Virtual console. Since any games I would want I already have. If I dont have it I can download it for free.. I'm also disapointed you have to buy the damn browser for the Wii with Wii points. Why can't it just come built in for free? There was little point of it in the first place since you've got a PC. Sticking a price on it just makes ya want to use it even less. |

What the hell kind of journalists are there anyways. None of them asked the whole way through Q&A about region free. That'd be kind of good to know. |
Metroid was high on my launch list... Oh well, Excite Truck is a FANTASTIC replacement.
