Damn, I'm stuck here at the damn computer lab...I wish I could be watching some of this. Figures...

Does any of recent RAW ever end up on Youtube?

Slash Jun 25, 2007 07:26 PM

That...is...shocking...

SuperSonic Jun 25, 2007 07:28 PM

Right now Goldfish, the arena is empty of any fans. They're just finishing replaying the last part of the Royal Rumble from 2004.

Damn, Chris Benoit, that sucks. I hope they find out who murdered them. I might even be murder/suicide. Who knows?

Such a Lust for Revenge! Jun 25, 2007 07:42 PM

WTF

Benoit's gone? Just like that? This is so disgusting. I'm not sure if I'm more depressed about this or angry. I feel like there should be someone to blame. Owen Heart, Benoit, Guerrero, etc. I know tons have died, and I know this is tactless of me to say at a time like this, but why do true wrestlers, true lovers of their sport, have to die while a schmuck like Cena will probably live to be in the Hall of Fame? The report almost makes it sound like him and Woman were murdered.

Fuck me man. I'm just glad he went with his wife.

Winter Storm Jun 25, 2007 07:48 PM

Part of me is hoping this is just another "death" storyline, but I know it isn't. . .

You know what? As tasteless as that would be, something edgy like that would be get a lot of people to watch. Although it would be piss a lot of people off, it would be an amazing trick to play on people. Imagine, a month from now Chris Benoit walks out to ring after everyone thought he was dead. WWE would never have the balls to do something like that though. I think it would be kind of cool though.

Malahk Angel Jun 25, 2007 08:15 PM

Yeah, the second I first heard about it, I thought it was another BS death angle... I really do wish it was. This (at least to me) signals the true end of the new ECW. A big time player like Chris was was exactly what ECW needed to kick it into high gear... They're not going to be able to find even the slightest replacement for him.

chato Jun 25, 2007 08:16 PM

Well it's a good thing Vince dropped that gay storyline. He showed up and is doing a tribute for him. Right now they're showing a classic match from Hog Wild 96. Benoit vs Malenko. I think I was 9 or 10 yrs old O.o;; . That match was classic . I hope they show one of the "Best of 6 for the US title" match he had with Booker T cause those were unforgettable.

bishop743 Jun 25, 2007 08:36 PM

I haven't watched wrestling avidly in years, but growing up, I really enjoying watching Benoit. I admire the type of technical style that guys like him and Bret Hart personified. At first, I thought this was a sick joke... some sort of extension of the Vince McMahon limo angle, but I was horribly mistaken. Right now, I can't even begin to fathom or process the news.

My thoughts and prayesrs go out the entire Benoit family.

rockthepartay Jun 25, 2007 09:49 PM

The death of Benoit is so shocking to me that it doesn't seem real. What a tragedy.

CapturedPenguin Jun 25, 2007 10:38 PM

So they're saying now that Benoit killed his wife, and kid and then himself.

http://abcnews.go.com/Sports/story?id=3315501&page=1

I'm not sure I can believe this.

rpgcrazied Jun 25, 2007 10:38 PM

damn, this sucks.. I cant belive Chris's would kill himself and his wife an kid. Just doesnt seem real, ya know?

That is what wwe.com is now saying, double murder/suicide

How do you know Chris killed them? wwe.com just says it is a murder suicide, it could be the wife who killed him and the kid. Poisoning sounds like something women do to kill people. Maybe she's pissed he is always on the road.

CapturedPenguin Jun 25, 2007 10:44 PM

It's all speculation now, but it's what the associated press believe. I guess when an autopsy or further information is leaked it'll just stay speculation.

I'm not sure I can believe this.

Where do see anything in that article that says that they are now saying "Benoit killed his wife, and kid and then himself"? I might be what happened, but the article says nothing of the sort.

rockthepartay Jun 25, 2007 10:50 PM

That article does not imply that Benoit was the murderer.

The only thing in the article indicating that Benoit killed his wife and kid was the police not ruling out strangulating or suffocating.

I really don't know what to say about any of this, really.

Living Legend Jun 25, 2007 11:14 PM

I turned on Raw today to see Vince McMahon, I thought it was showing a past 'promo' or something until he revealed his storyline and then the passing of Beniot which just shocked the hell out of me.

With all the speculation right now and all the news sources saying different things, it's going to be weird if Beniot ever ends up being the murderer. It's so odd to think that he is dead when he was just on tv less than a week ago.

dagget Jun 25, 2007 11:22 PM

I found out about this while bowling with my friends earlier today. I couldn't even watch Raw without crying. I'm still in shock and holding back. Benoit's going to be missed as he was one of the best wrestlers they ever had.

gah...

acid Jun 26, 2007 12:01 AM

WWE.com is reporting it as a double-murder-suicide.

I havent watched wrestling in something like 2-3 years, but since I'm from Edmonton, this still is pretty sad. Used to really like Chris back when I used to watch it. However if it IS true that he murdered his wife and son, it's a shame that he could be capable of something like that.

nazpyro Jun 26, 2007 12:15 AM

This is mad tragic news to me. It was pretty emotional RAW. Benoit was one of my all-time favorite wrestlers. He was ridiculous. I haven't kept up with the WWE as much as I used to, but I've seen more episodes this year than previous. Sad, sad. ;_;

rockthepartay Jun 26, 2007 01:19 AM

From WWE.com:

Quote:

WAGA, a FOX-owned and operated television station in Atlanta, reported that investigators believe Benoit killed his wife and 7-year-old son over the weekend, then himself on Monday.
Nothing makes sense anymore.

Borg1982 Jun 26, 2007 01:23 AM

If Benoit ended up murdering then there must be some logical reason for it. Maybe certain medication.

I really liked Benoit and i was so happy on Wrestlemania 20.

mortis Jun 26, 2007 01:48 AM

I am trying to make sense of it all.

I came back after being gone for two days to see BREAKING: along with a family death. Then I saw Benoit at the end...and my jaw dropped.

I am not going to believe it until it's proven. Obviously, I have never met Benoit, but from just about everyone, he was kind, caring, patient, and honorable.

I looked up to Bret when I was really young, and then to Benoit after Bret retired. I stil lremember when Benoit wrestled in the tribute match for Owen, and cried when Eddie passed away (along with facing Triple H in Eddie's tribute week).

I think the hardest thing is, I am trying to think of this a bit in wrestling. Ya know, a guy turns 'heel', or is 'injured', but you can't wait for the day he will return. Now, no matter what happens, he is gone.

I was just listening to his theme music this morning...always liked it. Whenever I listen to it, I think back to Mania 20 with him holding the title up high. Crazy that THREE years later, BOTH men who were in that Wrestlemania moment are gone.

rockthepartay Jun 26, 2007 01:53 AM

I know this is too early and probably very inappropriate, but I'm going to say it anyway since it has been on my mind and is really bothering me. Besides, it's a legitimate question.

If it turns out that Benoit did kill his kid and wife, and that it wasn't an accident and no drugs were involved, I wonder how this will affect his legacy and placement in the WWE Hall of Fame. It was an obvious decision to have Eddie Guerreor inducted, but I don't think it will be that clear cut now for Benoit. Will his amazing career triumph over the fact that he killed his 7-year-old son? Also, will people remain sympathetic towards Benoit once they find out he is a murderer? Will they forgive him?

Fuck, I just don't know what to think.
